If you're in the Northeast Florida area and searching for a peaceful escape, ST. MARY'S COVE is a hidden gem worth exploring.
Based on feedback from fellow campers, ST. MARY'S COVE is characterized by its quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The description "Quiet RV Getaway on the St. Marys River" immediately sets the tone for a relaxing experience. Imagine escaping the noise and stress of everyday life to a serene environment where the gentle sounds of the river and the surrounding nature create a calming backdrop for your stay. This emphasis on tranquility makes it particularly appealing for locals looking for a nearby respite.
One of the key features highlighted in the reviews is the easy access to the St. Marys River. This opens up a range of recreational activities for campers. Whether you enjoy fishing, kayaking, or simply being near the water, ST. MARY'S COVE provides the perfect launchpad. The opportunity to fish directly from the campground or to embark on a kayaking adventure along the river adds significant value for outdoor enthusiasts searching for "camping near me" with such amenities.
The mention of "shaded sites" is another appealing aspect, especially in the Florida climate. Shaded campsites offer a welcome relief from the sun, making your stay more comfortable, particularly during warmer months. This thoughtful provision enhances the overall camping experience, allowing you to relax outdoors without being overly exposed to the heat.
Reviewers also describe the campground as "clean and welcoming." A clean environment is crucial for a pleasant camping experience, and a welcoming atmosphere ensures that guests feel comfortable and at ease. The sentiment of "no crowds, just good vibes and great views" paints a picture of a friendly and uncrowded setting, which can be a significant draw for those seeking a more intimate and peaceful camping experience compared to larger, more bustling campgrounds.
The positive feedback continues with the comment about ST. MARY'S COVE being "one of the nicer spots of the St Mary's River." This suggests that the location itself is particularly attractive, likely due to its natural beauty and the quality of the river access. The mention of "nice sandy beaches, that run for quite a long way; on either side of the boat ramp" is a significant highlight. Sandy beaches along a river offer opportunities for relaxation, play, and enjoying the waterfront. This feature would be particularly appealing to families and those who enjoy having a comfortable space by the water.
Furthermore, the review mentions that the boat ramp has recently been remodeled. This indicates an ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the facilities at ST. MARY'S COVE. A newly remodeled boat ramp would be a significant advantage for those looking to bring their boats for fishing, watersports, or simply exploring the St. Marys River.

Wasn't a waste though, Didn't stay over but Brian is a great guy and let me hang around and relax, visit the beach, and gave me water and a ride back to town.
