State Forest Campsite #E011 Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Blooming Grove, PA area, State Forest Campsite #E011, located at 104 Maple Run, Blooming Grove, PA 18428, offers a glimpse into camping within a Pennsylvania state forest. You can contact the general state forest service at (570) 895-4000 for inquiries, although direct contact for a specific campsite might vary. Based on the limited reviews available, the experience at or near this campsite appears to have both positive and negative aspects that local users should consider.
One reviewer noted that the campsite was "decent" initially, suggesting that the natural environment of the state forest itself might be appealing. Pennsylvania state forests are typically characterized by their extensive woodlands, diverse flora and fauna, and opportunities for outdoor recreation. Camping in such a setting often provides a more rustic and nature-focused experience compared to private campgrounds with more amenities.
However, the same reviewer then described a significant negative experience involving a large group arriving with a box truck who then proceeded to ride quad bikes around the parking lot throughout the night, leaving behind a "mountain of trash." This incident raises concerns about potential noise disturbances and the respect of some visitors for the camping environment and other campers. For local users seeking a peaceful "camping near me" experience, this review serves as a caution.
Another reviewer provided insights into the off-season, mentioning that it is quiet during ATV/hunting season. This suggests that the level of activity and noise might vary depending on the time of year and the specific user groups present. However, this reviewer also highlighted issues related to the campsite's proximity to trails used by ATV riders. They reported nighttime traffic coming into the lot, potentially to turn around or loiter. More concerningly, they described an expectation from trail riders to have full use of the campsite, even if it was occupied. The reviewer recounted returning to their site on their checkout day (but still several hours before the official checkout time) to find a family using it, who were not inclined to leave, considering the paying camper to be the problem.
These reviews collectively paint a picture where the natural environment of the state forest might be attractive, but the experience at or near Campsite #E011 could be negatively impacted by inconsiderate visitors, potential noise from ATV activity (depending on the season and regulations), and a lack of respect for reserved campsites from other users of the forest's recreational trails.
Given that this is a state forest campsite, the services and features would typically be more basic compared to private campgrounds. One might expect:
- A designated camping area.
- A fire ring.
- Possibly a picnic table.
- Access to shared, potentially more primitive, restroom facilities.
- Water sources might be available but not necessarily at each campsite.
Hookups for RVs are less common in state forest campsites unless specifically mentioned, which they are not here. The focus is usually on a more self-sufficient camping experience in a natural setting.
The reviews do not provide any information about specific promotional offers. Therefore, local users interested in State Forest Campsite #E011 should focus on understanding the potential environment and the reported issues.
To get more specific details about the environment around Campsite #E011, the typical amenities available at state forest campsites in this area, and any regulations regarding ATV use or campsite etiquette, local users should contact the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), which manages the state forests and their campsites. They can provide information on the specific features of Campsite #E011, rules regarding noise and trail usage, and the reservation process, if applicable.
In conclusion, State Forest Campsite #E011 near Blooming Grove, PA, offers camping within a natural state forest setting. While the off-season might be quiet, reviews indicate potential issues with noise from other visitors, disrespect for campsites by trail users, and littering. For local users seeking "camping near me," it's crucial to weigh the appeal of a state forest environment against these reported negative experiences. Contacting the Pennsylvania DCNR for more information and clarification on rules and regulations would be a prudent step before deciding to camp at this specific location.

Decent campsite until 20 people showed up with a box truck and rode quads around the parking lot all night. They left a mountain of trash also.
May 01, 2025 · Joshua CilibertoOff-season atv/hunting season it is quiet. But expect traffic at night coming into the lot to do a U turn or sit and hang out?? But the worst part is as it's right there feet off the parking lot for the trail riders to use, they expect full use of your site regardless if you are there. I came back to find a family using my site while some gear of mine was still there. Yes, I was checking out that day(3pm), but it was 9:30am. They didn't care to leave once I got there and continued as they were considering me the issue.
Oct 13, 2024 · John DellThis campsite is at one of the State Forest designated ATV riding trailheads. If you were looking for peace and solitude I would not recommend this Campsite, especially on the weekends.
