For local residents and outdoor enthusiasts seeking a "camping near me" experience with added convenience and access to river activities in the Ozark, Arkansas region, Turner Bend Store Cabins & RV Campgrounds presents a notable option. Located at 20034 AR-23, Ozark, AR 72949, USA, this establishment offers a combination of cabin rentals, RV campgrounds, and on-site services, including a store and canoe rentals. You can reach them for inquiries and reservations by calling (479) 667-3641 or +1 479-667-3641.
Turner Bend Store Cabins & RV Campgrounds, as its name suggests, offers a multifaceted experience for those looking to explore the natural beauty of the area. Falling under the "camping near me" category, it provides various accommodation options, catering to different preferences and needs. The presence of a store on-site adds a layer of convenience for campers and river adventurers, while the canoe rental service directly facilitates exploration of the nearby river. The friendly staff is also a recurring positive aspect mentioned by visitors.
The environment surrounding Turner Bend Store Cabins & RV Campgrounds is clearly a major draw, with one reviewer describing the area as "beautiful." Located along AR-23 near Ozark, Arkansas, it is likely situated amidst the scenic landscapes of the Ozark Mountains, potentially offering picturesque views and easy access to natural attractions. The direct mention of canoeing the river indicates a prime location for water-based activities, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the natural beauty from a unique perspective. The "well located" comment further suggests its convenience for accessing regional points of interest.
In terms of services, Turner Bend offers several notable conveniences. The presence of a store on-site is a significant feature, allowing campers and river users to purchase supplies, snacks, and potentially other necessities without having to travel far. One reviewer who only visited the store noted that the "service is wonderful" and that "everyone is polite and willing to help." This positive feedback about the staff extends to those interacting with the store and likely reflects the general hospitality of the establishment. Additionally, the availability of "canoed the river" implies that canoe rentals are a key service offered, providing guests with a direct way to enjoy the waterway.
However, one detailed review raises concerns about the consistency of certain maintenance services. This reviewer, who stayed for three nights, reported that the "bathrooms and showers never cleaned" and that the "garbage never emptied." They also noted that the "soap was empty" in the facilities. These are significant issues for campers who rely on clean and well-maintained communal facilities, especially after spending the day engaging in outdoor activities. This feedback suggests a potential inconsistency in the upkeep of essential amenities.
The same reviewer also mentioned a security concern, stating, "You could tell someone was on our site. Maybe if staff had checked grounds once or twice a day, people's stuff would be left alone." This raises a point about the level of supervision or security within the campground. While the area is described as beautiful, this experience highlights a potential vulnerability for guests leaving their belongings unattended.
Despite these concerns, the reviewer who experienced the maintenance and security issues still acknowledged the "beautiful area" and expressed an intention to "come back just won't stay here." This suggests that the natural surroundings and the location itself are highly appealing, even if the campground facilities fell short of expectations in this particular instance.
The reviewer who used the canoe rental service only had one complaint, noting that "things in the store are a bit expensive." While this doesn't directly relate to the camping or cabin experience, it's an important piece of information for local users planning to utilize the on-site store for supplies. They should be prepared for potentially higher prices compared to off-site retailers.
The provided information does not offer specific details about the features of the cabins or the RV campgrounds. Regarding the cabins, one can infer they provide a more sheltered and comfortable accommodation option compared to tent camping, but the size, amenities (e.g., beds, kitchenettes, bathrooms), and layout are not described. Similarly, for the RV campgrounds, information about hookups (water, electricity, sewer), site sizes, and accessibility is not available. Local users interested in these specific accommodation types would need to contact Turner Bend directly for more details.
Unfortunately, there is no promotional information included in the provided reviews. Local users seeking information about special rates, discounts for Arkansas residents, or package deals that might combine cabin or RV rentals with canoe rentals would need to inquire directly with Turner Bend Store Cabins & RV Campgrounds using the provided phone numbers. It's always advisable to ask about any potential promotions when making a reservation.
In conclusion, Turner Bend Store Cabins & RV Campgrounds offers a "camping near me" option in a beautiful and well-located area near Ozark, AR, with the added conveniences of an on-site store and canoe rentals. The staff is reported to be friendly and helpful, particularly in the store and presumably with the canoe service. However, potential guests should be aware of a reported lack of consistent cleaning in the bathrooms and showers, as well as a potential security concern regarding unattended campsites. While the natural surroundings and river access are highly appealing, local users should weigh these factors and perhaps contact Turner Bend directly to get more information about the current state of facilities and to inquire about the specific features of the cabins and RV sites before making a booking.

Well located. Staff friendly, we were here 3 nights bathrooms and showers never cleaned ,garbage never emptied. Soap was empty. When you are out on trails all day, you just want a clean shower and toliet to come back to. You could tell someone was on our site. Maybe if staff had checked grounds once or twice a day, people's stuff would be left alone. Beautiful area ,will come back just won't stay here.
Apr 10, 2025 · Lamor GatenioI have only visited the store and canoed the river. The service is wonderful. Everyone is polite and willing to help. My only complaint would be that things in the store are a bit expensive.
May 03, 2025 · Lee Anne RusWe traveled to Arkansas for a SxS riding weekend with friends. We stayed at the Turner Bend Cottage. Cute little cottage and beautiful area! Owners were very nice. The cottage had everything we could have needed. This cottage is located up some stairs so just be aware there is some incline and when wet, might be a little slick. You have to meet Fig, the cat. He was so sweet and wanted all the attention. We enjoyed our stay. Would look at their properties again if we return to the area.
Nov 15, 2024 · Stacie HunsakerThe RV spots are more spacious than most RV parks which we appreciated. The surroundings are very scenic. All of the electric, water, wifi, etc. worked perfectly.
Mar 31, 2025 · Cindy CAlways enjoy our times spent at Turners Bend. We generally stay in the Wood Haven house or the Carriage House. The owners always treat us right, ensure we have a great time, and provide a nice and cozy cabin for our trip. Thanks for a great experience.
