Union Creek Resort Introduce
Looking for a "camping near me" experience that combines the charm of a cabin stay with proximity to natural wonders like Crater Lake? Consider Union Creek Resort, located at 56484 OR-62, Prospect, OR 97536, USA. You can reach them for inquiries or bookings at (866) 560-3565 or their mobile number, +1 866-560-3565.
Based on the reviews from past guests, Union Creek Resort offers "cozy woodside cabins," making it an appealing option for those seeking a camping cabin experience rather than traditional tent camping. One reviewer who stayed with friends and family during a visit to Crater Lake found their cabin to be clean and equipped with basic essentials. They noted that the heating system, while not centralized, was "fairly easy to operate." This suggests that the cabins provide a comfortable and functional base for exploring the area, particularly for those visiting Crater Lake, which is a significant natural attraction in Southern Oregon.
The same reviewer also mentioned that the WiFi service was "decent given how the network coverage is almost nil." This is an important point for those who might need to stay connected, indicating that while the general area might have limited connectivity, the resort does offer some level of WiFi. The hassle-free check-in and check-out process was also highlighted as a positive aspect of their stay.
However, another guest who stayed for two nights had a more mixed experience. They found their room to be "ok" and noted the absence of a TV compared to a previous stay. The more significant issue raised was related to noise. This guest reported being woken up early on New Year’s Day by an employee plowing snow at 6 am, despite only 4 inches of snow having fallen. They felt this was inconsiderate, especially given that it was New Year’s Day and many guests might have been seeking quiet and isolation. The reviewer also described the employee as "SO rude!" and expressed their intention not to return, opting to rent their annual cabin elsewhere. This negative feedback highlights a potential issue with early morning noise and customer service.
Considering these reviews, Union Creek Resort offers cozy woodside cabins that are clean and equipped with basic essentials, making them a comfortable option for those looking for "camping near me" with cabin-style lodging, especially when visiting Crater Lake. The availability of decent WiFi in an area with limited network coverage is a notable convenience. However, potential guests should be aware of the possibility of early morning noise from maintenance activities and the reported issue with rude staff interaction.
For local users seeking "camping near me" in the Prospect area or those planning a trip to Crater Lake and preferring cabin accommodations, Union Creek Resort provides a seemingly convenient option. The woodside setting suggests a pleasant natural environment. The cabins appear to offer a step up in comfort from traditional camping, with heating and basic amenities provided.
To get a more comprehensive understanding of Union Creek Resort, local users might want to inquire about:
- The different types of cabins available and their specific amenities (e.g., kitchenettes, bathrooms).
- The typical hours for any maintenance or service activities to gauge potential noise levels.
- The proximity to Crater Lake and other local attractions.
- Any specific policies regarding guest comfort and service.
The positive review emphasizes the cleanliness, basic essentials, and decent WiFi, along with easy check-in/check-out. The negative review points to potential issues with noise and staff attitude. It's important for prospective guests to weigh these perspectives.
For those in the region looking for "camping near me" that offers a cabin experience, Union Creek Resort's location near Prospect, OR, makes it geographically accessible. The proximity to Crater Lake further enhances its appeal for those wishing to explore this natural landmark while enjoying a cabin stay.

Union Creek Resort Reviews
We stayed with friends and family at their cozy woodside cabin on our visit to crater lake. It was clean, equipped with basic essentials, the heating system is not centralized but fairly easy to operate. The WiFi service was decent given how the network coverage is almost nil. Check in/check out was hassle free.
Dec 01, 2024 · Praseedha SubramanianStayed two nights, room was ok. Last time we stayed here there was a tv, but oh well. However, on the morning of New Year’s Day I was woken up before light by some employee plowing the 4 inches of snow at 6am! I think people probably came here for new years for the quiet and isolation, not to be woken up super early by a diesel 4wheeler plow! The guy was SO rude! All the cars here have 4wd so he could have waited until at least 9am!! People want to sleep in on New Year’s Day! Needless to say I’m no longer coming back here and will be renting our annual cabin elsewhere next new years. Totally rude and unprofessional!
Jan 01, 2025 · Rose AbbeyUsed to be a 5/5, now a 1/5 - One star instead of 0/5 because the resort IS physically there and has not burned to the ground due to forest fires. My wife and I have been coming here each summer since 2014. The picture of the American flag on my Google account is from Union Creek.Since new ownership has taken over, neither one of us want to go here anymore. Here is a short list of reasons:1. Transperency - The Union Creek Resort website USED to show a dozen or so pics of EACH cabin by number. THIS IS UBER-IMPORTANT for the weary traveler that is coming from the other side of the state or country. When they get there, they know what to expect. They know what the cabin looks like - inside and out. They even had a grounds maps. NOW its a crap shoot; there may be one picture for a few cabins.2. When you call to book, you are talking to someone from a call center in Ohio. They know nothing of the property exept whats in their notes.3. One in particular cabin (the only one we ever stay in), has almost doubled in price since we were there last, AND it no longer has a stove/kitchen according to the call center representitive. This doesnt make sense to me.4. Read other recent reviews**. Im not exited to travel all the way there now.5. Now I understand why they are offering BOGO.In my humble opinion. Aramark is OFF the mark for a successful future to this once great resort.Aramark, please sell this Resort back to anyone who wants to make it better place and keep it from falling apart further than it is.TIM SMITH
Dec 04, 2024 · Tim SmithNice little resort with acceptable rooms in the main lodge where we stayed, nothing super fancy. Theres a shop downstairs with food and supplies and a great restaurant right across the street, and the staff is all very friendly. Location is great for some quick hiking trails. Beware they have a no refund policy if you book the wrong dates like we did, they didn’t reach out or anything.
Oct 19, 2024 · Chris LaverdiereGreat rooms and cabins, but everything was closed including the Cafe that we wanted to eat at and the office/store.
