This is a wonderful place to experience a managed forest where preservation and harvest are in harmony in our national Forest. The partnerships of the Forest Service with the local community are proving that a forest can provided both a recreation area and sustanable growth of forest products to meet the needs of our nation. While here we saw deer, elk, and dozens of other animals and birds in the surrounding forest. The streams are clear and full of trout. The trails open on to sweeping meadows and natural bridge is a sight to behold. This little lizard is one of the many surprises that we found while snow was still melting on the near by trails. Memorial day will be the opener for the near by campgrounds. - yettimouse
