Varlas Campgrounds, RV Mobile Home Parts, Laundromat & Propane Sales Introduce
For local residents and those working in the Moundsville, West Virginia area seeking a "camping near me" solution that goes beyond traditional recreational camping, Varlas Campgrounds offers a unique blend of services and amenities. Combining campground facilities with RV and mobile home parts sales, a laundromat, and propane services, Varlas caters to a diverse range of needs, particularly those seeking longer-term stays or requiring specific supplies and conveniences. Based on the available customer reviews, Varlas Campgrounds prioritizes customer service and offers practical amenities in a convenient location.
Convenient Location and Accessibility
One of the key advantages of Varlas Campgrounds, as highlighted by a long-term guest, is its location "right outside of town." This proximity to Moundsville provides easy access to shopping and other local conveniences, making it a practical choice for those staying for extended periods or needing to run errands frequently. The accessibility to town ensures that essential services and retail options are readily available, adding a layer of convenience that might not be found at more remote campgrounds. For local users who need a temporary place to stay while working or transitioning, this location offers a balance between a functional living space and access to urban amenities.
Excellent Customer Service
A standout feature of Varlas Campgrounds, consistently praised in the reviews, is the exceptional customer service provided by Brad and Doug. The long-term guest specifically stated, "I can honestly say I have never had better customer service than what both Brad and Doug have given us." This level of dedication to guest satisfaction can significantly enhance the overall living experience, especially for those staying for an extended duration. The owners and management appear to be attentive, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile for their guests, fostering a positive and supportive environment within the campground community. Their willingness to share information about "little hidden gems around town" further demonstrates a commitment to helping guests feel welcome and connected to the local area.
Comprehensive Amenities Included in Monthly Rental
For those seeking longer-term "camping near me" options, particularly individuals doing contract work in the area, Varlas Campgrounds offers an attractive monthly rental package. The price is described as "unbeatable for the area," and crucially, this price "includes all of your amenities." While the specific amenities included are not exhaustively listed, the reviews mention full hookups (power and water), a laundromat on-site, and potentially other standard campground utilities. This all-inclusive pricing simplifies budgeting and provides a cost-effective solution for extended stays, making Varlas a particularly appealing option for traveling professionals or those in need of temporary housing in their local area.
On-Site Services: RV/Mobile Home Parts, Laundromat, and Propane
What sets Varlas Campgrounds apart from typical recreational campgrounds is the array of on-site services it provides. The presence of a "little store where you can buy anything imaginable for your rv or camper" is a significant convenience for RV owners and those living in mobile homes. Having access to parts and supplies directly at the campground can save time and effort, especially for repairs or maintenance needs. The on-site laundromat is another practical amenity, particularly beneficial for long-term residents and travelers who need a convenient place to do laundry. Furthermore, the presence of a "propane fill station on-site" adds another layer of convenience for those using propane for heating, cooking, or other RV/camper needs.
Functional Infrastructure for Longer Stays
One reviewer described the campground as "basically a gravel lot with many sites full hook ups." While this might not offer the lush greenery or scenic beauty of a more traditional campground, it indicates a functional infrastructure with essential utilities readily available at each site. The mention of "clean good power and water" is crucial for the comfort and practicality of staying in an RV or mobile home. The focus on full hookups suggests that Varlas is well-equipped to accommodate RVs and mobile homes requiring these connections, catering to a different segment of the "camping near me" market – those needing more than just a tent site.
Geared Towards a Specific Clientele
The review noting that Varlas is "mostly geared towards oil and gas workers" provides important context about the primary clientele of the campground. This suggests that the environment might be more focused on providing practical and functional accommodations for those working in these industries. Local users who are also in similar fields or who prioritize convenience and amenities over a purely recreational atmosphere might find Varlas to be a suitable option. However, those seeking a more traditional, nature-focused camping experience might find the gravel lot setting less appealing.
Recommending Varlas for Specific Needs
Based on the positive experiences of a long-term guest, Varlas Campgrounds is highly recommended for individuals "doing contract work and gonna be staying in the area for a little while." The combination of affordable monthly rental rates, included amenities, convenient location near town, and the exceptional customer service makes it an ideal choice for traveling professionals or those needing temporary housing in the Moundsville area. The owners' local knowledge and willingness to share information about the town's "little hidden gems" can also help newcomers feel more connected to the community.
Promotional Opportunities for Local Users
To attract local users seeking "camping near me," Varlas Campgrounds could highlight its unique combination of services and its focus on convenience and value. Promotions could emphasize the affordable monthly rates with all amenities included, making it an attractive option for those needing temporary housing or a longer-term RV site. The on-site RV and mobile home parts store, laundromat, and propane sales can be promoted as significant conveniences that save time and effort for RV owners and residents. Testimonials praising the excellent customer service from Brad and Doug should be prominently featured to build trust and demonstrate the welcoming atmosphere. While the gravel lot setting might not appeal to all, highlighting the clean and functional infrastructure with full hookups is essential for attracting the target clientele of RV and mobile home users. Local businesses or organizations that bring contract workers to the area could be potential partners for promoting Varlas as a preferred lodging option. Emphasizing the proximity to town and the ease of accessing shopping and other necessities can also be a key selling point for those who value convenience. By clearly communicating its unique offerings and focusing on the needs of longer-term residents and RV/mobile home owners, Varlas Campgrounds can effectively reach its target local audience.
In conclusion, Varlas Campgrounds in Moundsville, WV, offers a practical and service-oriented "camping near me" option, particularly well-suited for individuals seeking longer-term stays, such as contract workers or those needing temporary housing. Its convenient location near town, comprehensive amenities included in the monthly rental price, on-site RV/mobile home parts store, laundromat, propane sales, and exceptional customer service make it a valuable resource for the local community and those working in the area.

Varlas Campgrounds, RV Mobile Home Parts, Laundromat & Propane Sales Reviews
My wife and I have stayed here for the past four months as she is a traveling nurse. I can honestly say I have never had better customer service than what both Brad and Doug have given us. The location is right outside of town, so the convenience of shopping is right there. The price of monthly rental is unbeatable for the area. And that price includes all of your amenities. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. That is doing contract work and gonna be staying in the area for a little while. There are a bunch of little hidden gems around town that they can tell you all about. They have a propane fill station on-site. They have a little store where you can buy anything imaginable for your rv or camper, they have a laundromat on-site.Seriously, I take my hats off to the owners and management of this establishment.
Aug 19, 2024 · Gerald StellarClean good power and water. Mostly geared towards oil and gas workers. Basically a gravel lot with many sites full hook ups. It worked very well for my purposes for the time I was in town. I would stay here again.
Sep 18, 2023 · Chuck DeeVery clean and maintained laundry facility. Reasonably priced machines ($3 for front load washer and $1 for 24 minutes of drying time). I will return to use again when in the Moundsville area.
