Welcome Woods RV Campgrounds Introduce
For local residents searching for "camping near me" in the Russells Point, Ohio area, Welcome Woods RV Campgrounds, located at 7547 OH-366, Russells Point, OH 43348, USA, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. You can contact them at (937) 843-2465 or +1 937-843-2465 for inquiries and reservations. While the campground is advertised as beautifully wooded, feedback from campers reveals potential discrepancies between the advertised amenities and the actual offerings, which local users should carefully consider.
One reviewer expressed significant disappointment with their stay, despite acknowledging the accuracy of the "beautifully wooded" description in the campground's advertisement. This suggests that the natural environment of Welcome Woods RV Campgrounds might indeed be a strong positive aspect, offering a scenic and shaded camping experience. However, the positive aspects seem to be overshadowed by concerns regarding the facilities and amenities.
The same reviewer pointed out several discrepancies with the advertised features. The claim of "multiple playgrounds" was contradicted by their finding of none. Additionally, recreational amenities such as a tetherball were unusable due to the absence of a ball, and the horseshoe pits were overgrown with weeds, indicating a lack of maintenance. These observations suggest that some of the advertised recreational facilities may not be available or in usable condition for campers.
Perhaps the most significant concern raised by this reviewer pertains to the bathroom facilities. Contrary to the expectation of a "hot shower house," the reality was described as "legit out houses with no running water." The reviewer also noted the absence of any mention of bathrooms in the campground's advertisement, implying a potential lack of transparency regarding this essential amenity. The inclusion of pictures by the reviewer (though not available to us) strongly suggests that the nature of the bathroom facilities was a major point of dissatisfaction and a significant deviation from what might be expected at an RV campground.
This negative experience led the reviewer to conclude that they would "never stay there again," highlighting the severity of their disappointment with the discrepancies between the advertisement and the actual facilities. For local users considering Welcome Woods RV Campgrounds based on its wooded setting, this review serves as a critical caution regarding the state of the amenities.
In contrast, another reviewer had a more positive experience, stating, "We like Welcome woods, people are friendly." This suggests that the social atmosphere and interactions with other campers or staff might be a positive aspect of the campground. This reviewer also mentioned having a new puppy that barked frequently when left alone, indicating that pets are allowed at Welcome Woods RV Campgrounds. Their intention to manage their pet's behavior in the future implies a generally accommodating attitude towards pet owners.
This second reviewer also described the campground as "Nice," offering a more favorable overall impression. Furthermore, they mentioned upcoming entertainment events scheduled for Memorial Day and the 4th of July, suggesting that Welcome Woods RV Campgrounds does organize activities or events that could enhance the camping experience, particularly during holiday weekends. This could be a significant draw for local users looking for a campground with planned entertainment.
Considering these two contrasting reviews, local users searching for "camping near me" need to weigh the potential benefits of a wooded environment and planned entertainment against the significant concerns raised about the lack of advertised playgrounds, unusable recreational facilities, and the presence of outhouses instead of traditional bathrooms with running water and hot showers.
The environment of Welcome Woods RV Campgrounds is described as "beautifully wooded," which is a significant positive for those who appreciate camping in a natural, shaded setting. The presence of trees can offer privacy and a more immersive outdoor experience. However, the discrepancy in advertised versus actual amenities needs careful consideration.
In terms of services, the limited information suggests that basic RV hookups might be available, given the name "RV Campgrounds." The friendly nature of the people, as mentioned by one reviewer, could be considered a service that enhances the overall experience. The planned entertainment for holidays also falls under the umbrella of services or features intended to attract and engage campers.
The features, based on the negative review, seem to be lacking or misrepresented. The "multiple playgrounds" appear to be non-existent, and the recreational facilities like tetherball and horseshoe pits were not in usable condition. The most significant feature, the bathroom facilities, were described as outhouses without running water, a stark contrast to a "hot shower house." The positive reviewer highlighted the pet-friendly aspect and the planned entertainment as features of the campground.
Promotional information is limited to the mention of "good intertainment on Memorial day and 4th." Local users interested in specific details about these events, such as the type of entertainment, schedule, and any associated costs, would need to contact the campground directly. There is no other promotional information available in the provided reviews, such as discounts, seasonal rates, or special offers for local residents.
Given the significant discrepancies highlighted in the reviews, local users searching for "camping near me" should exercise caution and seek further clarification before booking a stay at Welcome Woods RV Campgrounds. It would be prudent to contact the campground directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about the current status of the playgrounds, recreational facilities, and, most importantly, the bathroom facilities. Asking for recent pictures of the amenities might also be helpful in setting realistic expectations.
In conclusion, Welcome Woods RV Campgrounds offers a potentially attractive wooded environment near Russells Point, OH. The friendly atmosphere and planned holiday entertainment are also positive aspects mentioned by one reviewer. However, the serious concerns raised by another camper regarding the absence of advertised playgrounds, unusable recreational facilities, and the presence of outhouses instead of expected bathroom facilities with running water are critical points that local users must consider. It is strongly recommended to contact the campground directly to obtain accurate and up-to-date information about the amenities and services before making a reservation to avoid potential disappointment. The contrasting reviews suggest a need for clearer communication and potentially improvements to the advertised and actual facilities at Welcome Woods RV Campgrounds.

Welcome Woods RV Campgrounds Reviews
Wel, well, where do I start, the campground is beautifully wooded like their add says, but everything else, well no!!!!! It says multiple playgrounds, we found none, the tether ball had no ball, the horseshoe pits were grown up with weeds, the hot shower house, well you will see the picture of it and funny but they didn’t mention bathrooms in their add, because they are legit out houses with no running water!!!!! They didn’t bother to tell us that when we reserved our spots, I am including some pictures, so you be the judge, we will never stay there again
Jul 18, 2021 · Tammy DaileyWe like Welcome woods, people are friendly. May 20, 2023 · John McgowanThank God for Ed... This guy actually cares about this place. It has its issues being an older camp ground but the mature landscape is worth it, we had 2 big problems right off the get go. Ed however solved these both within an hour. Very nice and Friendly. I do hope that the owners listen to him because with some changes this place can go from a really nice wooded campground to the BEST in the area by FAR. Thanks Ed we love our new spot and everything works nicely.
Jul 19, 2020 · Justin HubbsWe had a spot there this year, (2016) and really enjoyed it. Having a newer camper with most amenities, helped, but the difference came from the created sense of community and Ed the caretaker/ manager. The rates are fair, the lots are good sized, and Ed is truly a great guy that works very hard at keeping the place nice!
Sep 11, 2016 · Brian AlbertsWe stayed here for a weekend last summer and it was really nice. They have a new playset they've built and a basketball court. The owners are reall nice and it's nice and quiet with friendly people. They also had a night with a free band and pizza. It's a bit older and not alot for the kids to do or I would have done 5 stars. But we're planning on going back soon.
