Westport Beach RV Park and Campground Introduce
For individuals and families in search of "Camping Near Me" along the picturesque Northern California coast, Westport Beach RV Park and Campground presents a compelling option. Located at 37700 CA-1, Westport, CA 95488, USA, and readily accessible by phone at (707) 964-2964 or +1 707-964-2964, this destination offers a diverse range of accommodations from RV sites with full hookups to tent sites and cabins, all within walking distance of a secluded private beach, making it a highly desirable coastal retreat.
The environment at Westport Beach RV Park and Campground is undeniably its greatest asset. Visitors consistently laud it as a "Beautiful spot," emphasizing its immediate proximity to the ocean. All sites are conveniently "within walking distance of the secluded private beach," offering unparalleled access to the sand and waves. The ambiance is notably quiet, with the "ocean drowns out all the traffic noise when there is any," despite its location right next to Highway 1. This creates a serene coastal atmosphere, perfect for relaxation and enjoying the sounds of the Pacific. Guests can expect "Wonderful views" of the ocean from many locations within the park, enhancing the overall experience. The natural setting, combined with the sound of the waves, provides a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Westport Beach RV Park and Campground offers a variety of services and features catering to different camping preferences. For RV enthusiasts, the park provides "full, and I mean full hook ups with cute light house power/water connections." This comprehensive offering ensures a comfortable stay for those in recreational vehicles, providing electricity, water, and sewer connections directly at the site. The "tent sites looked nice too," suggesting options for traditional campers, though one reviewer noted that "it’s a bit early (April) for things to be dried out," indicating that weather and ground conditions should be considered during spring visits. Additionally, the campground offers cabins for those seeking a more solid structure. However, it's important to address the significant feedback regarding the cabins. One reviewer found "cabin 13" to be "sticky" and in need of a "deep clean," reporting "hair in the refrigerator," a "rusty microwave," and "a good layer of filth piled along the edges." This suggests a notable discrepancy in cleanliness for the cabins, leading to the strong advice that "This is definetly a place where you want to roll your own rig" rather than relying on the cabins for a clean stay. Guests are also advised to bring their own sanitation wipes for cabins.
Despite the issues with cabin cleanliness, the campground provides other amenities. There are bathrooms with showers available, though one reviewer noted issues with a shower machine "choke down my quarters" and a "Quickest two minutes I’ve ever had," suggesting that shower functionality can be inconsistent or limited. It's advisable for campers to bring plenty of quarters for showers and to manage expectations regarding water pressure or duration. For families, there is a "Small fenced in playground for the kids" and a "volleyball net you can rent the ball to use if you don’t bring your own," offering recreational options within the park. The presence of "friendly neighbors" contributes to a positive community atmosphere. The park is also dog-friendly, which is a significant plus for many travelers who wish to bring their pets. The overall sentiment for the RV and tent sites leans towards a "nice tidy campground," indicating that the issues primarily pertain to the cleanliness of the cabins.
Promotional information for Westport Beach RV Park and Campground would highlight its prime coastal location and direct access to a private beach. The "Wonderful views" of the ocean and the quiet ambiance created by the sound of the waves are major selling points. It's an ideal destination for those seeking a tranquil beachfront escape. The availability of "full hook ups" for RVs makes it a convenient choice for RV travelers, emphasizing the ease of setting up camp. The option for tent camping expands its appeal to traditional campers looking for a coastal experience. The fact that it is a dog-friendly park is a significant draw for pet owners. The playground and volleyball net add family-friendly features, making it suitable for all ages. However, it is crucial for any promotional material or direct communication to transparently address the cleanliness concerns regarding the cabins, perhaps by advising prospective guests to consider bringing their own RVs or tents for a more predictable experience, or by indicating recent improvements in cabin maintenance. The contact numbers, (707) 964-2964 and +1 707-964-2964, are essential for making reservations or inquiring about current conditions, especially regarding cabin cleanliness and shower functionality. Emphasizing the "great service" and "friendly neighbors" reported by some guests further reinforces the welcoming atmosphere. Overall, for those local users searching for "Camping Near Me" on the Northern California coast, Westport Beach RV Park and Campground offers a beautiful, quiet, and amenity-rich setting, with the key caveat that RV or tent camping may offer a more consistently positive experience compared to the current state of the cabins.

Westport Beach RV Park and Campground Reviews
Beautiful spot, all sites are within walking distance of the secluded private beach. We stayed in cabin 13 by the rest of our party that rolled in campers. We usually roll out our rig too but decided to try the cabins to make it a quick trip. It was sticky. Not sure how to explain other than anything you touched like the door knob, plastic covered camp mattresses to the refrigerator. These cabins need a deep clean. There was hair in the refrigerator, the microwave was rusty (it still worked fine) and there was a good layer of filth piled along the edges of the cabin. I don’t mind sand, and we had our dog with us so I get the dog dirt. But the bottle cap? Me having to go to the office to borrow sanitation wipes? They seemed surprised saying it was just cleaned. Flipping a mattress and sweeping is not a good cleaning between guests. Yuck. I felt a little better after wiping down the surfaces. Nothing to be done about the dirty exhausted floor rug in there. Just gotta wear your slippers or shoes inside while you embrace the suck. Bathroom had three showers. I used the last one at the end and had to bang the machine for it to choke down my quarters. Quickest two minutes I’ve ever had, but hey, we’re camping right? This is definetly a place where you want to roll your own rig. It’s nice they have full, and I mean full hook ups with cute light house power/water connections. Tent sites looked nice too but it’s a bit early (April) for things to be dried out. Small fenced in playground for the kids and a volleyball net you can rent the ball to use if you don’t bring your own. I really liked how quiet it was even though it’s right next to the road. The ocean drowns out all the traffic noise when there is any. All in all a nice tidy campground, cabins are just a bit on the gross side for the price of a coastal hotel room. No thanks.
Apr 14, 2025 · Amy SmithWe stayed near the Ocean in our Minnie Winnie RV. Wonderful views, great service, quiet and friendly neighbors. We will be back soon for my birthday.
May 01, 2025 · Linda ChastainWe were here 4 days in a cabin. The cabin was clean and cozy! The surroundings were breathtaking from looking at forest to the ocean. The grounds are maintained and made getting from cabin to beach easy. The bathroom was cleaned and showers had immediate warm water! Eric and Tina were great hosts. If you're looking for great camping .... Stop at Westport Beach RV Park & Campground!
Sep 25, 2024 · Theresa Covarrubias⚠️ The campground has a SERIOUS bear problem, which isn't adequately communicated to guests. ⚠️ The staff there seem to think that bears thriving off of guest's food and raiding campsites is cute and acceptable. At LEAST provide bear lockers to store food and post fliers! Also, the showers are coin-operated, and there is no way (apparently) to turn credit card money into shower money. If you're willing to risk the bears, bring coins or cash! That being said, the campground is in an incredible location! I just wish the owners/managers took their jobs as hosts and their guest's safety more seriously.
Oct 25, 2024 · Rachelle WilliamsOur group of friends come here annually and have been for a few years now and we love this place. We tent camp when we come but they do have cabins and RV sites. The grounds are beautiful and well kept and the staff is friendly. There are bathrooms and showers (they do charge to use the showers). There is even small convenience store for some basic supplies you can buy, this is also where you check in. There is WiFi here but know that it’s not the best and you won’t be able to do much with it but at least it allowed us to still get text messages since we don’t have cell service here. Also just a FYI that bears do tend to come into the grounds at night looking for food so you need to lock your coolers in your vehicle at night; they are black bears so when we’ve encountered them they run away.
