The availability of a boat landing makes it particularly attractive for those who own boats or plan to rent them to explore Kabetogama Lake and Voyageurs National Park. The positive feedback regarding the peacefulness and beauty of the campground suggests a pleasant natural setting for relaxation. The fact that it remains open into October, albeit with limited water services, could appeal to those who enjoy camping during the quieter fall season.
To provide a more comprehensive introduction, additional information such as the cost of camping, the types of campsites available (e.g., wooded, open, size limitations), any specific rules or regulations of the campground, and the proximity to other local attractions or services would be beneficial. Wooden Frog Campground and Day Use Area Reviews
We didn't stay at the hotel or the campground. We used the boat landing to be able to access the water and get to a nearby island. The landing is very nice, it's used by many people. There is a restroom there for use as well and if you walk to the opposite side of the landing you can also access the water and there's a nice grassy area. We've used this landing multiple times. Very convenient!!
Oct 15, 2024 · Heather MarieWooden frog is peaceful and so beautiful. We stayed mid October. They don’t take reservations. It’s first come first serve, but 6 of the available 61 drive in sites were available. They turn off water at the beginning of October, but it not a big issue as they have pit toilets that were clean enough. We loved this campground and would return!
Oct 18, 2024 · Emma BrownI loved this campground. I know a lot of people won't think this is great, but you are not packed in side by side. There are lots of trees and privacy. There's no dump station or electricity, but there's potable water. There is a restaurant and boat launch close by along with picnic area and small beach.
Jul 20, 2024 · Andrea SparksLocation is great, there are some campsites on the lake and many more in the woods. My only complaint is that $17 /night feels too expensive considering there’s no regular bathroom, one small pit toilet only for a large portion of the campground
Sep 24, 2024 · Savana BrownTo address a previous review that was about low branches from a year ago, as of June 2024 we drove our 30 ft long 13ft 5in high 5th wheel in full circle before picking our spot. There are no issues with low branches. Seems the best campsites for larger rvs are sites 50 and higher. What a great stop here at Wooden Frog.
