Academy Mobile Home Park Introduce
If you are looking for "RV parks near me" in the Haughton, Louisiana area and are considering a smaller, more private community for a long-term stay, Academy Mobile Home Park, located at 39 Academy Ln, Haughton, LA 71037, USA, presents a unique case. With its reported small size and some positive aspects highlighted by residents, it warrants consideration, though recent feedback also indicates potential drawbacks that need careful evaluation. You can contact Academy Mobile Home Park at (318) 453-7275 or their mobile number +1 318-453-7275 for direct inquiries.
Haughton, Louisiana, offers a more suburban or semi-rural environment in Northwest Louisiana. Academy Mobile Home Park is described by one resident as a "small community of like 13 homes," suggesting a very intimate and potentially quiet setting. This small scale could be appealing to those seeking a more secluded and private living experience, which might extend to RV owners looking for a long-term spot in a less crowded environment.
One long-term resident speaks positively about the management, particularly mentioning "Rieny the manager" as "so great." The review highlights prompt and efficient service, noting that issues, even minor ones like loose molding or a malfunctioning drawer, are typically addressed within a day or two of being reported. The management also proactively handles maintenance such as changing air conditioning filters to ensure the home system operates efficiently. The resident also mentions an average monthly electric bill of around $100 and appreciates services like grass cutting and occasional power washing of the home, indicating some level of grounds maintenance provided by the park.
The same positive review also notes the presence of police in the area, stating, "The police keep their presence, I like it that way," which could contribute to a sense of security within the small community. Overall, this resident found it to be "a great place" for their past year of living there.
However, more recent feedback introduces significant concerns that potential residents, including those in RVs, should carefully consider. One reviewer states that "Stray CATS are taking over this place. Large Dogs run loose as they are NOT on a leash." This raises potential issues regarding pet safety, noise, and general nuisance within the community.
A more alarming review details a specific incident: "Recently a large Tan Dog loose running was growling to attack my daughter. I had to intervene with a rake. We are moving soon." This indicates a serious safety concern regarding loose, potentially aggressive dogs within the park, which is a critical factor for anyone with children or pets, or simply for personal safety. The reviewer's decision to move due to this issue underscores the severity of the problem.
The same negative review also mentions other drawbacks: "Other places are cheaper and do not have trash cans strewn all over the place." This suggests potential issues with the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the community, contradicting the earlier positive review's mention of a well-maintained environment. The presence of trash strewn around could detract from the aesthetic appeal and potentially create unsanitary conditions.
Considering the platform category "RV parks near me," the mixed reviews of Academy Mobile Home Park present a complex picture. The small, quiet, and private nature of the community, along with responsive management for home maintenance, could be appealing. However, the serious concerns raised about stray cats, loose and potentially aggressive dogs, and trash scattered around the property are significant red flags that need to be addressed and verified.
For individuals considering a long-term RV stay at Academy Mobile Home Park, it is crucial to ask specific questions when contacting the management:
- Do you currently accommodate RVs for long-term stays?
- Are there designated RV sites available? What are their sizes and configurations?
- What types of utility hookups are provided at the RV sites (electricity – including amperage, water, sewage)? What are the associated costs?
- What are the monthly rates and lease terms for RV sites?
- What are the community's policies regarding pets for residents, including RVers? Are there leash laws enforced? What measures are in place to address stray animals?
- What are the rules regarding trash disposal and community cleanliness?
- What amenities are available for residents that RVers could utilize (e.g., laundry facilities, restrooms, showers)?
- What is the parking situation for RVs and any additional vehicles?
- Can you provide information about the security measures in place within the community, including the reported police presence?
- Can you address the recent concerns raised in online reviews regarding loose dogs and trash? What steps are being taken to resolve these issues?
Given the conflicting information regarding the cleanliness and safety of the community, a personal visit to Academy Mobile Home Park is highly recommended before making any decisions. Observing the overall environment, the presence of stray animals or loose dogs, and the condition of the grounds will provide a more accurate assessment. If possible, speaking with current residents (if permitted) could offer further insights into the day-to-day living experience.
There is no promotional information available in the provided text. When contacting Academy Mobile Home Park, it would be wise to inquire about any current specials or long-term stay discounts for RVs. However, the priority should be to address the safety and cleanliness concerns raised in the recent reviews.
In conclusion, Academy Mobile Home Park in Haughton, Louisiana, offers a small and potentially quiet community with responsive management for home maintenance. However, recent reviews highlight significant concerns about stray animals, loose and potentially aggressive dogs, and issues with trash disposal. For those searching for "RV parks near me," the positive aspects of a small community and attentive management need to be carefully weighed against the potential safety and cleanliness issues. Thoroughly investigating these concerns by contacting the management and visiting the park is essential before considering Academy Mobile Home Park for a long-term RV stay.

Academy Mobile Home Park Reviews
I have lived here in the small community of like 13 homes. It is quiet and piecfull, and private.Rieny the manager she is so great. Anytime I have a issue, and that's not often. But anytime I just drop a note in with my rent and I come home day or two latter and it's fixed. And the only issues I have had were like for facing molding, coming loose, drawer not working right, and a/c filters. They change a/c filters to keep home system operating better. My electric runs about 100 every month. They even keep my grass cut and power washed the house once since I have been here. The police keep their presence , I like it that way.It has been a great place for me to spend the last year.

Aug 08, 2023 · LestatDeLioncourt IMVUHave lived here for a year and love it. Really close to the interstate so it's close to work. The landlord is very nice and they keep this place really maintained. The road I live on is brand new so the houses are brand new. Just wish google would recognise my road!
May 08, 2016 · Taylor PattersonIt's a nice place to live. Mostly quiet. Homes are more affordable than in BC or S.port. (plus a lot cleaner than in town). I definitely recommend living here.
Nov 23, 2019 · Charlene LarsonGREAT place to live, my bestfriend lives down the new street, salmon run, and has no worries because her neighbor is a police man and kids are all over the park so her kids have friends to play with! Mrs Paula the park owner is very sweet and from what ive seen she seems to help any way she can if u need anything done to your house. Great parking spaces for two cars, has porches with roofs, very spacey and pretty decent size homes. My friend has one of the newest mobile homes which is a 3 bedroom and pays $750 so fair pricing, room in the yard for the kids to play, and comes with appliances!
