Archway RV Park Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Mt. Vernon, Illinois region, Archway RV Park, located at 4810 Broadway St, Mt Vernon, IL 62864, USA, presents a convenient option for overnight stays and short visits. You can contact them at (618) 244-0399 or +1 618-244-0399 for inquiries and reservations.
The environment surrounding Archway RV Park offers a blend of accessibility and practicality. Situated in Mt. Vernon, the park benefits from its proximity to essential amenities. According to customer reviews, it is conveniently located close to Walmart, various shopping options, and a selection of dining establishments. This accessibility makes it a suitable stop for travelers needing to restock supplies or enjoy a meal without venturing far from their RV. Additionally, the presence of numerous fuel options within walking distance is a significant advantage for RV owners. While the park itself may not be immersed in extensive natural landscapes, its urban-adjacent location provides ease of access to services.
In terms of services and features, Archway RV Park offers several amenities noted by recent visitors. One highly praised feature is the "awesome clean shower" facility, which is also highlighted as being perfectly set up for handicap accessibility. This attention to cleanliness and inclusivity is a notable positive aspect. The park also provides Wi-Fi, which was reported as "great," a crucial service for many travelers needing to stay connected. For pet owners, Archway RV Park features a "nice dog park," indicating a designated space for canine companions to exercise. However, one reviewer mentioned that not all pet owners appear to be diligent about picking up after their pets, suggesting that while the amenity is present, maintenance in this area could be improved.
Several features of the RV sites themselves have been mentioned in the reviews. Guests noted that the sites are "way too close to each other" and "a little tight," suggesting limited space between parked RVs. This close proximity might restrict the ability to fully extend awnings, as mentioned by one reviewer. However, for short overnight stays where awning use is not a priority, this may not be a significant drawback. The ease of access for larger RVs ("big rig") was also mentioned positively by a guest who appreciated the straightforward entry and exit from their site.
One environmental aspect that received negative feedback was the pond located within the RV park. A reviewer noted that the "pond really needed cleaned" and that there was "a lot of trash around edges of the water," which detracted from the overall appearance. This suggests that the upkeep of the water feature could be an area for improvement. Additionally, a minor issue reported was that the solar lights within the park "don't seem to be working." While seemingly small, functional lighting contributes to safety and ambiance during the evening hours.
Customer experiences at Archway RV Park appear to be generally positive, particularly for short-term stays. The front desk staff member was described as "extremely welcoming" and helpful in directing guests to their sites. The overall feeling reported by visitors was one of comfort and safety. The park seems to serve its purpose well for overnight stops, providing essential amenities and a convenient location. One guest who initially booked for one night extended their stay due to unexpected rain, indicating a degree of comfort and willingness to remain at the park. While some mentioned the noise from the nearby highway, it was generally not considered overly bothersome.
Considering the promotional aspect for local users searching for "RV parks near me," Archway RV Park could emphasize its convenient location near shopping, dining, and fuel options as a key selling point for those needing quick access to these amenities. The clean and handicap-accessible shower facilities and the availability of Wi-Fi are also positive attributes that can be highlighted. While the dog park is a plus for pet owners, addressing the issue of cleanliness in that area could further enhance its appeal. Potential improvements, such as cleaning up the pond and ensuring the functionality of the solar lights, could also contribute to a more positive overall experience for guests.
In summary, Archway RV Park in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, offers a practical and conveniently located option for RV travelers, particularly those on overnight stops or short visits. Its proximity to essential services like shopping, dining, and fuel is a significant advantage. While the RV sites are noted as being close together and the pond's cleanliness is a concern, the park provides clean shower facilities, reliable Wi-Fi, and a dog park. The welcoming staff and the general sense of comfort and safety reported by guests contribute to a positive experience. For local users seeking "RV parks near me," Archway RV Park presents a functional choice, especially for those prioritizing convenience and essential amenities over expansive natural surroundings or large, private campsites. Potential guests should weigh the benefits of its location and services against the reported drawbacks of site spacing and pond condition when making their decision.

Archway RV Park Reviews
We only stayed one night. Price was great. Sites are way to close to each other. Awesome clean shower and yes set up perfectly for a handicap person. Pond really needed cleaned. A lot of trash around edges of the water-looks bad. Dog park was nice. We didn't see any dog poop so seems well maintained. Solar lights don't seem to be working. Wifi was great. Close to Walmart ,shopping and places to eat. No a campground we would stay for any length of time but served our purpose perfectly.
Apr 19, 2025 · Julie GreenWe originally booked 3/22/2025 one night, however; we had harsh rain first thing in the morning the next day so we decided to stay an extra day.The front desk staff member was extremely welcoming and was kind enough to point us to our site. We have a big rig so we typically look for a site that’s easy to get in and out. There was a nice dog park, but it doesn’t appear everyone picks up after there pet(s).The sites are a little tight and we would not be able to put our awnings out but we didn’t want them out anyway, so it wasn’t a big deal for us. You will hear some noise from the highway but again wasn’t too bad that it bothered us.Tons of fuel and dining options with walking distance. We enjoyed our stay and would revisit if coming through this area again! All in all, we enjoyed our stay, we were comfortable & felt safe.
Mar 23, 2025 · Jewelz GarciaCherri was so sweet and welcoming. After traveling from Alaska I can honestly say this was the nicest spot so far. We have 2 dogs with us and it was so nice to let them stretch their legs in the fenced in dog park. Archway is clean with trees for shade, and all the amenities you will need. There are tons of restaurants just up the road as well as a gas station and Walmart. I'm so happy we stopped here on our way to Kentucky! I will remember this stop in our future travels! I highly recommend Archway RV Park!
Sep 14, 2024 · Lisa SpeckelsGreat spot to overnight with very easy access to Interstate 64. Clean, spacious bath house with handicapped access. Dog park was big and clean with two separate areas. Some shaded sites, a large pavilion, small gazebo, playground and laundry room. Sites are long, very level, mostly pull-thrus. Looks like plenty of shopping and gas nearby with a Tractor Supply right across the road. We paid $55 with the Good Sam discount.
Aug 28, 2024 · Janine RubilottaWe were needing a place to stay for the night. Friendly greeting upon arrival! The shower and restrooms were clean. We would recommend camping here!!
