The environment at Grant Haven RV Campground is a harmonious blend of peaceful seclusion and immediate access to thrilling outdoor pursuits. The park is described as "very quiet and relaxed," offering a serene escape just a short drive from the amenities of Bemidji. Campers can enjoy "great sunset views" and ample "walking space if you have dogs," making it an ideal spot for pet owners seeking a tranquil setting. The surrounding landscape provides a beautiful backdrop for relaxation. However, the true environmental highlight is its direct connection to extensive off-road trails. Guests can "access off road trails right from the campground," which link to various towns, restaurants, and gas stations. These trails cater to all skill levels, offering "family friendly" routes with scenic views, as well as more adventurous options to "test/learn skills such as climbing some sandy hills and even a few rocky ones." This unique combination of tranquility and immediate access to adventure sets Grant Haven apart, allowing visitors to tailor their outdoor experience to their preference, whether it's a quiet evening under the stars or an exhilarating day on the trails.
Grant Haven RV Campground is relatively new, established in the spring of 2021, and its modern design incorporates a range of services and features that prioritize camper comfort and convenience. All 38 RV sites are full hookup, including water, sewer, and electricity (30/50 amp options available). These sites are spacious, offering 60+ foot gravel pads designed to accommodate RVs of all sizes, including "BIG RIGS," with ample room for extra vehicles and trailers. For those with additional equipment, there's a large overflow parking area, which is "ideal for loading and unloading your ATVs." The campground provides free Wi-Fi campground-wide, ensuring guests stay connected. A key upcoming feature, eagerly anticipated by visitors, is "The Lodge," which will house laundry facilities, showers, and a small game room. While some of these amenities were still under construction during past visits, the commitment to their completion reflects the owners' dedication to enhancing the guest experience. The campground is notably "pet friendly," welcoming furry companions, and features a "little playground for kids," making it an excellent choice for families. For those who don't own an ATV or desire to try one, "machines can also be rented right from the campsite," a fantastic service for friends or family looking to join in a day of riding without their own equipment. The owners, Clayton and Meagan Johnson, are frequently praised for their "very welcoming and friendly" demeanor. They go above and beyond, sharing maps of must-see areas and even guiding guests to "harder trails we would have never discovered without them." This personal touch and genuine hospitality significantly elevate the overall experience at Grant Haven RV Campground.
Grant Haven RV Campground offers competitive rates depending on the length of stay, with daily rates ranging from $35-$55, weekly rates from $225-$290, and monthly rates from $700-$850. They also offer "Waterfall Pricing" for partial remaining periods. They proudly offer year-round camping, accommodating those who enjoy winter adventures like deer hunting and early-ice fishing. The campground has a "decent amount of long term and guests here for work," fostering a respectful and friendly atmosphere among campers. One reviewer highlighted staying for "2 whole months and couldn’t have been happier," underscoring the suitability of Grant Haven for extended stays. The location balances peacefulness with accessibility; it's "far enough from Bemidji that night time is beautiful and quiet but you drive about 4 miles and you are in town." This proximity to Bemidji means guests have easy access to a "movie theatre, coffee shop, restaurants, a brewery, run/bike/walking trail around the lake, downtown shops, and bigger box chain stores all within about 10 minutes." Furthermore, the owners actively cultivate a sense of community by hosting events and "get together with their guests," as exemplified by a "Halloween party" that created a festive atmosphere even far from home. This dedication to guest enjoyment and community building makes Grant Haven RV Campground more than just a place to park an RV; it's a vibrant and welcoming outdoor community. With opportunities to rent trailers nearby for state park excursions (like those 45 minutes away) and the vast network of trails, even "after a week of riding, there was plenty in the area we did not get to," promising endless exploration for return visitors. The consistent positive feedback, with many stating "We’d definitely come back," speaks volumes about the quality of the experience at Grant Haven RV Campground.

Grant Haven RV Campground Reviews
This place is amazing- it is new, pet friendly, clean, and you can access off road trails right from the campground. The trails nearby are family friendly and link to different towns, restaurants and gas. They have beautiful views but if you are more adventurous, you can also go exploring and find some areas to test/learn skills such as climbing some sandy hills and even a few rocky ones.Machines can also be rented right from the campsite in case you have family/friends that want to join in a day of riding but do not have their own rig. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. They even shared a map with some areas to be sure not to miss. They also took us out to show us a few harder trails we would have never discovered without them.We were also able to rent a trailer nearby so we could take our rigs to ride in a state park about 45 minutes away. Even after a week of riding, there was plenty in the area we did not get to.The location is also great as there is a movie theatre, coffee shop, restaurants, a brewery, run/bike/walking trail around the lake, downtown shops, and bigger box chain stores all within about 10 minutes. We’d definitely come back.
Aug 10, 2024 · Jillian OWe stayed here for 2 whole months and couldn’t have been happier! This rv park is very quiet and relaxed! Great sunset views, lots of walking space if you have dogs, little play ground for kids, and when we were there they were building their office! We talked with the owners and their office will have laundry and showers as well as a small game room but honestly even tho it wasn’t finished this was still an amazing stay! They have a decent amount of long term and guests here for work but everyone is respectful and nice! Sites are close together but enough to still have a nice evening at your own site! I can NOT say enough about the owners they are so sweet and so helpful! I love that it’s far enough from Bemidji that night time is beautiful and quiet but you drive about 4 miles and you are in town! The owners also love to have events and get together with their guests! They had a Halloween party when we were there and it was so amazing to have the Halloween spirit even though we were so far from home!
Dec 04, 2023 · Hannah NoelWe stayed for 4 nights over the Labor Day weekend. The spots are wide, deep, and level. Full hookups that are easy to access. We were in a spot closer to the main road and only noticed the highway noise a couple of times. Fire pit and table at each site. The owners are nice and stopped by to make sure everything was going good. Internet was better then most places we’ve been, which was a good thing for us as we have T-MOBILE and they seem to have a black hole in this park with no service. There is no bathhouse or laundry facilities, though it does look like they are in the process of building one or both, which will be a nice upgrade for this park. The roads and sites are mainly sand, it would be great if they did some gravel on top of that. Overall a great, no frills RV park that’s quiet, clean, and easy to navigate with all size rigs.
Sep 05, 2023 · Michele StroudWe just returned from a 2 night stay at Grant Haven RV Campground and it was fantastic! The owners are so friendly and welcoming, plus the sites are roomy and easy to access. We camped with friends and the kids enjoyed the playground equipment and indoor arcade area. Dogs are welcome and there are some good trails for walking, as well as a large open field. There is a wonderful sitting area with comfy chairs and a fire table. The bathroom facilities are amazing! So clean and spacious, it was like being at home with those small details that get overlooked (hanging shower caddy for your stuff!). All around great experience and will definitely be back. Thank-you for a wonderful stay!
Jul 15, 2024 · Anna HendersonGreat park, easy in and out. The main drive is wide, which makes parking easy. Utilities are laid out well. Fun playground for the kids, and they also enjoyed the creek. The owners are fantastic, really friendly and engaging with the campers. Definitely recommend!
