Guadalupe River RV Park & Campgrounds Introduce
For local users seeking "RV parks near me" that offer a refreshing escape along the scenic Guadalupe River, Guadalupe River RV Park & Campgrounds, located at 7200 Spring Branch Rd in Spring Branch, Texas, presents a location with natural beauty and riverside access. This campground aims to provide a pleasant environment for RVers and campers looking to enjoy the river and the surrounding Texas landscape.
Several visitors have described Guadalupe River RV Park & Campgrounds as "very nice and pleasant." One reviewer expressed a particular fondness for campsite 13, considering it the most beautiful within the park. The campground appears to have fostered positive experiences for many guests who have enjoyed their time there. Amenities include well-maintained bathrooms and a convenient office at the front, which offers a variety of essential items for sale, such as propane, ice, snacks, firewood, charcoal, and even fishing equipment. This on-site store adds a layer of convenience for campers who may need to replenish supplies or pick up fishing gear for enjoying the river.
The Guadalupe River itself is highlighted as the "main attraction," and for good reason. It is described as "absolutely stunning" with impressive, mature trees growing along its banks, creating a picturesque setting. For those looking for a bit of fun, there is a rope swing located near tent sites 15 or 17, which has been a source of enjoyment for visitors. The river undoubtedly offers opportunities for swimming, fishing, and simply relaxing by the water's edge, making it a significant draw for those seeking a riverside camping experience.
The location of Guadalupe River RV Park & Campgrounds also offers practical advantages. Situated approximately 15 minutes away from a Walmart, guests have relatively easy access to a wider range of supplies and necessities should they have forgotten anything. This proximity to a major retailer adds to the convenience of the location, balancing the natural setting with accessibility to urban amenities. Overall, the location has been described as "great and peaceful," suggesting a good balance between natural beauty and convenience.
However, it is crucial to consider a significant safety warning raised by a recent visitor regarding the accessibility to the river. This reviewer recounted a serious incident resulting in a trip to the emergency room due to what they described as a "lack of maintaining a reasonable access to the river." They stated that the main access point is steep and lacks leveled rocks or a handrail for support, leading to a fall and injuries requiring medical attention. The reviewer strongly cautioned about the potential danger and suggested the need for warning signs indicating "use at your own risk."
This negative review further elaborated on the claim that the RV park's advertisement mentions "several access to the river," but alleges that two of these access points are not adequately maintained. The reviewer described the first access point, where the fall occurred, as being so steep that it caused a person to slip and hit large rocks, resulting in injuries such as a head laceration requiring staples, a bruised hip, and abrasions. The reviewer expressed the opinion that this situation could be grounds for a lawsuit and mentioned speaking with a Constable who was supposedly aware of the difficult access.
The review also raised concerns about the park management allegedly yelling at those parked along the dirt road leading to this access area, threatening fines due to potential ambulance access issues. The reviewer interpreted this as prioritizing fines over maintaining safe river access. Furthermore, a second river access point was described as even worse, going directly into the water without any warning signs. The reviewer explicitly advised against staying at the park, deeming it unsafe due to the river access issues and claiming it to be "lawsuit prone."
Given this serious safety concern highlighted in a recent review, local users considering Guadalupe River RV Park & Campgrounds should exercise caution and be aware of the potential risks associated with river access. While some visitors have enjoyed the park's pleasant environment and amenities like the on-site store and the beauty of the Guadalupe River itself, the allegations of poorly maintained and dangerous river access points are significant and should not be ignored. It is advisable for potential guests to inquire directly with the park management about the current condition and safety measures in place for accessing the river before making a reservation or using the river access points.
In conclusion, Guadalupe River RV Park & Campgrounds offers a location with a beautiful river and some convenient amenities. However, a recent, detailed review raises serious safety concerns regarding the maintenance and accessibility of the river, which is advertised as a primary attraction. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" on the Guadalupe River should carefully consider this information and potentially seek further clarification from the park management regarding the safety of river access before making a decision. While the park may offer a pleasant stay in other aspects, the reported safety hazards associated with the river access are a critical factor to take into account.

Guadalupe River RV Park & Campgrounds Reviews
The place is very nice and pleasant. I personally like campsite 13 because I think it is the most beautiful one. Had many good times at this place. Bathrooms are nice and well-kept and there is an office at the front that sells propane, ice, snacks, firewood, charcoal, fishing equipment, etc.The river is the main attraction however, absolutely stunning with some massive tree's growing from it. They have a rope swing towards tent site 15 or 17 that's always fun.Place is about 15min away from a Walmart in case you forgot anything and is an all-around great and peaceful location. Highly recommended.
Mar 19, 2022 · mister EWARNING!!! DANGER!! We were at the ER due to the lack of maintaining a reasonable access to the river! They are steep! The main one does not have leveled rocks nor a rail to grab on to. This place needs a sign stating use at your own risk! Their site’s advertisement as it states : several access to the river! It is so steep that you slip back as did one of the members I went with. He fell hitting several large rocks due to their mismanaging of their posted amenity. This is grounds for a lawsuit. I spoke to the Constable as he said he too is aware of the difficult access! This RV advertises several access area to the river. There are two which are not maintained by the camping ground. The first is where he fell and ended up getting a CT done, stapes to his head, bruised hip, abrasions all over! This place is not safe!! They go around yelling who is parked long the dirt road to this access area along with you’ll be fined due to an ambulance getting there if needed!! It would have taken much longer to get him back up to the top instead we drove to the front and then called 911. He makes money off of fining those parked there instead of maintaining a reasonable safe access to the river! The second is worse and goes straight into the water!! Again no warning signs either. We too plenty of pictures. Lawsuit prone!! Do not stay here! It is not safe getting to the river
May 27, 2019 · LINDA MONTEMAYORPark was average. After reading reviews beforehand it was about what I expected. Access to water is nice. You do have to go down a hill to get to it but it’s not as bad as some say. I do agree there are a lot of long term people staying and a lot of the rvs are worse for wear. I did get the junkyard feel. Might help clearing some of those out and changing to short term only with a few long term. All hookups worked great no issues there. And lot sizes were good. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Aug 16, 2021 · Kyle KatcherWe have a pop up and stayed there one night. It's a great location. Close to the river. Decent price for the general area. Sites are very close together. Not much privacy. Not many shade trees. Bathroom situation has some opportunities for improvement. Toilet stalls have curtains for doors lacking privacy. Showers are cold water and motion sensor controlled. No hooks or benches to hang or place toiletries on. I didn't get the impression that the bathrooms are cleaned regularly. Lots of permenant residents. It makes us temporary guests feel unwelcome - almost like we're trespassing. There's a sign when you first pull up says that if you drive past this point you'll be fined double. Not a great welcome to guests. They do allow one night stays which is a plus. Also not overly lit at night, so it makes for great star gazing!
Jun 17, 2018 · Anitra JayFalse Advertisement! If a campground was an app it'd be Tinder, Swipe left because we got catfished! The pictures on the website and Google are definitely NOT what this campground looks like AT ALL. Booked our tent site for 6/3-6/5 showed up 6/3 at night and the first rvs you see look sketchy as all get out. going down the road to the tent area there is a bunch of debri and rock broken (it could be for potential parking but looks terrible and is not fenced for children) The bath house is not labeled and looks like a vacant run down building, but was nice on the inside. the toilets however would not flush. We waited until 0920 for someone to show up at the office as we were highly displeased and were told to be at the office no later than 0900 to get our passes. We ended up leaving and just ate the $74.. We do NOT recommend this park at all. There is junk all over the full time campers areas, it looks run down and dangerous. As a mom, I wouldn't bring my kids here with our rv and let them run around.Just go down about 20 minutes to the horseshoe area, and get what you pay for.
