Hiawassee RV Campground Introduce
For local users seeking "RV parks near me" in the scenic Hiawassee, Georgia area, Hiawassee RV Campground, located at 2068 US-76, Hiawassee, GA 30546, USA, offers a mix of positive attributes and some considerations for potential visitors. Based on recent customer reviews, the campground presents a generally pleasant and clean environment with a helpful staff, while also highlighting some specific site-related and location-related factors to be aware of.
The environment of Hiawassee RV Campground is described by one reviewer as a "Nice quiet community," suggesting a peaceful and neighborly atmosphere within the park. Another reviewer confirms that the "RV site is kept clean and orderly," indicating a commitment to maintaining the grounds. However, it's important to note that the campground's location directly "off of US 76" results in "traffic noise on occasion." While this noise is reported to subside around 10 pm and not interrupt sleep, light sleepers might want to consider this proximity to a main road. On the positive side, the park's location offers convenient access to the surrounding attractions.
Regarding the services and features of Hiawassee RV Campground, the reviews provide some valuable insights. The staff is consistently praised, with one reviewer specifically mentioning that they were "courteous" and highlighting Irene, the site manager, as "very helpful and kind." Irene is also noted for keeping guests informed about "all current events in the area," which suggests a proactive and engaging management style. The campground utilizes "rocks instead of fine gravel," which is mentioned as a benefit for keeping RVs cleaner. However, this feature also presented a challenge for one reviewer regarding the grading for their septic hose, requiring them to improvise a solution for proper flow. The availability of essential utilities (water, electricity, sewer) is implied but not explicitly detailed. Potential guests should inquire about the specifics of the hookups at their chosen site.
Key features of Hiawassee RV Campground include its community feel, the cleanliness of the sites, and the helpfulness of the staff. The use of rocks instead of fine gravel for ground cover is a notable feature, offering a potential advantage for RV cleanliness but possibly posing challenges for certain setups. The campground's location off US 76 provides both accessibility and some traffic noise. A significant advantage of staying at Hiawassee RV Campground is its proximity to several key local attractions. Reviewers mention that "lots of hiking trails" are available in the area, catering to outdoor enthusiasts. Additionally, the "Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, Lake Chatuge, and a beach are right down the street," offering a diverse range of recreational and entertainment options within a short distance. This makes the campground a potentially excellent base for exploring the natural beauty and local events of the Hiawassee region.
However, it is crucial to address the concerns raised by one reviewer regarding their specific site. They reported their site being "full of nails" that they had to pick up daily, accumulating "a bag full of Nails." This is a significant safety concern and suggests potential issues with site maintenance on at least one occasion. The same reviewer also described another entrance to their site as a "mud pit," even after gravel was added, indicating potential drainage or ground surface issues in certain areas of the park. These issues highlight the importance of potentially requesting specific site information or recent conditions when making a reservation.
Promotional information is not included in the provided reviews. Therefore, details regarding special offers, discounts, or seasonal promotions are currently unavailable. In conclusion, Hiawassee RV Campground offers a generally clean and orderly environment with a helpful and courteous staff, fostering a "nice quiet community" atmosphere. Its location off US 76 provides convenient access to local attractions such as hiking trails, Lake Chatuge, and the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. However, potential visitors should be aware of the traffic noise due to its roadside location and the reported issues with nails on at least one site and a muddy entrance area. The use of rocks instead of fine gravel has both pros and cons, as highlighted by the reviewers. To make an informed decision, local users are encouraged to contact Hiawassee RV Campground directly to inquire about site availability, specific site conditions, utility hookups, and any current promotions. Despite some reported drawbacks, the campground's positive aspects, particularly its location and staff, may make it a suitable option for exploring the Hiawassee area.

Hiawassee RV Campground Reviews
Nice quiet community 👌.... been there for a month already 👍Only down fall is my site is full of nails (That I pick up daily.. **Thats a bag full of Nails) So I can't park on side of camper... then the other entrance is a mud pit even after they put more gravel down the other day... They must of ran out or something 😫
Dec 21, 2022 · Tejay RogersThis RV site is kept clean and orderly. The staff were courteous. Irene (site mgr) was very helpful and kind. She kept us informed of all current events in the area. This is a small park right off of US 76, hence there is traffic noise on occasion. Traffic slows down around 10pm so it doesn’t interrupt sleep. The Park uses rocks instead of fine gravel, so your rig stays cleaner, but there was a problem with the grading for the septic hose. We had to pile up the rock, and use a few small small storage bins for support to maintain proper flow. We stayed here for a month. There are lots of hiking trails in the area. The Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, Lake Chatuge, and a beach are right down the street. Staying here was quite the adventure.

Lost my reservation twice in the beginning of our stay, then after we checked out she continued to charge us until we spent hours with the credit card company to straighten out. Wish we would have drove on by this campground. My only suggestion is the manager should take the Pabst blue ribbon out of her hand and the cigarette out of her lips and focus on the job she is paid to do and try to act in a professional manner if you hope to have repeat business.
