Marin RV Park Introduce
For local adventurers seeking "RV parks near me" that provide a strategic base for exploring the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area and the natural beauty of Marin County, Marin RV Park, located at 2140 Redwood Hwy, Greenbrae, CA 94904, USA, presents itself as an option. Situated in a prime location with convenient access to the city and surrounding attractions, Marin RV Park aims to offer a functional stay for RV travelers. Let's delve into what you can expect based on feedback from fellow RV enthusiasts.
One recurring theme in the reviews is the park's advantageous location. As one guest noted, it's a "perfect place to park it when all we want to do is explore the beautiful San Francisco area!" Another reviewer highlighted its proximity to transportation, mentioning it's "only like a 20 minute walk to the ferries that will take you to the peers that are down from the boat tour to Alcatraz Island." This accessibility to San Francisco's iconic attractions and the wider Bay Area is a significant draw for those looking to immerse themselves in the urban and cultural offerings.
The initial interaction with the staff seems to be a positive aspect of Marin RV Park. One reviewer recounted, "The young lady that checked us in (I wish I knew her name!) is so sweet, gave me some tips on things to do, & even made sure we were settled in before she left for the day." This suggests a welcoming and helpful initial experience, which can be particularly comforting after a long day of travel.
However, it's essential to consider some of the concerns raised by other visitors. A significant point of contention is the cost, with one reviewer stating emphatically, "#1 There is NO_WAY. This place is worth over $100/ night." This perception of high cost relative to the amenities offered is a factor prospective guests should weigh against the convenience of the location.
Another area of concern is the size of the RV sites. Multiple reviews describe them as "TINY" and "cramped." One guest with a 40' fifth wheel and a large truck mentioned they "fit just fine" but were offered a separate truck parking spot as a courtesy, indicating potentially tight maneuvering and parking conditions for larger rigs. Another reviewer with a smaller setup detailed the challenges of fitting their truck and trailer within the assigned space, even having to park the truck in a different area. They further noted the narrow width of the sites and the implications for using slides or awnings due to the park's rules regarding proximity to neighboring RVs.
In terms of amenities, feedback suggests they are somewhat limited. While one reviewer mentioned a "cool, small, and mostly clean" pool, they also pointed out that it is not heated and that there is "no hot tub or sauna or any other amenities here." This lack of extensive recreational facilities might be a consideration for those seeking a resort-style RV park experience.
One particularly concerning issue raised is the electrical setup at some sites. One reviewer reported having a site with "reverse polarity" and only 20 AMP service, which they described as "extremely minimal" even for a small RV and prone to tripping the breaker. They also noted that adjacent sites had 30 AMP service, highlighting potential inconsistencies within the park's infrastructure. This is a critical factor for RVers who rely on consistent and adequate power for their appliances and comfort.
Cleanliness of the individual sites also appears to be an area for potential improvement, with one reviewer mentioning finding "no less then about 20 nasty cigarette buts littering the grounds of our tiny site." While this may not be representative of all sites, it's a point to be aware of.
On a more positive note, the laundry facilities received favorable feedback. One reviewer described the washers and dryers as "BRAND NEW," with multiple units available, although they noted the cost per load and drying time.
The condition of the bathrooms seems to be generally acceptable, with one reviewer contradicting negative comments from other posts, stating that the bathrooms they used had "several stalls, and a few showers and mostly clean, no problems with floors or ceiling issues seen whatsoever." This suggests that the bathroom facilities might be adequate for basic needs.
Finally, one incident involving a neighboring RV with a persistently beeping smoke or CO2 detector highlights a potential issue with noise and consideration among some occupants, although this is not directly attributable to the park management.
Considering the mixed feedback, Marin RV Park appears to offer a strategically advantageous location for exploring the San Francisco Bay Area. The friendly initial service is a plus. However, potential guests should be prepared for potentially small and cramped sites, limited amenities beyond a basic pool and laundry, and the possibility of encountering electrical issues or cleanliness concerns at individual sites. The cost may also be a significant factor to consider relative to the offerings.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" primarily for a convenient base to explore the region and who prioritize location over extensive on-site amenities and spacious sites, Marin RV Park could be a viable option. However, it is strongly recommended to contact Marin RV Park directly at (415) 461-5199 or +1 415-461-5199 to inquire about site availability, specific amenities offered at your assigned site (including electrical hookups), current rates, and any specific policies or restrictions. Asking for recent site conditions and any available site maps might also be beneficial in setting expectations. By directly engaging with the park management, you can gather the most current information to determine if Marin RV Park meets your specific needs and preferences for your Bay Area RV adventure.

Marin RV Park Reviews
After the worst day EVER on the road, this campground saved us and turned it around! The young lady that checked us in (I wish I knew her name!) is so sweet, gave me some tips on things to do, & even made sure we were settled in before she left for the day.Anyone complaining on it being too expensive or cramped has apparently never stayed at a campground so close to a major city. You want a bunch of amenities & more space to frolick? Go find a campground 2 hours away from the city.Of course I would want it to be a little more affordable and within our budget but it's a perfect place to park it when all we want to do is explore the beautiful San Francisco area! Our 40' fifth wheel & huge truck fit just fine but we were offered a seperate truck parking spot as a courtesy.
Mar 22, 2025 · L BMWhere to start with my review_OMG.#1 There is NO_WAY. This place is worth over $100/ night.#2 Although the pool is cool, small, and mostly clean, it is not heated at all. There is no hot tub or sauna or any other amenities here.#3 The sites are TINY. I have a full sized crew cab dually 4x4 long bed and only traveling with a 1 axle less then 20 foot travel trailer and the site they gave us (J10) is small enough that with our little trailer backed to within 18" from back of my trailer to fence_ still connected, my truck sits 1/3 of the way into the street past the white sideline. We had to call the office and they were nice enough to give us a site down at the end to park our truck at._ not in ALL the places I've camped for this year's family vacation spanning from Western washington over to eastern Montana and down To south eastern Texas and over to NM, AZ NV and into CA have we EVER had a site so small that we had to park our truck someplace else. Not only short but only about 12' wide and there rules state if you use your slides or awning that they have to be further then 6' from your neighbors rig; LOL.. good luck using anything you have here. There are no picnic tables or fire pits. It's just a gravel spot with 6x6 timbers separating the cramped sites.#4 The electrical is wired BACKWARD (REVERS POLARITY). AND to top it off_it's only 20 AMPS. (At our site)_ the sites to our left and right have 30 AMPs, but we got a site that has reverse polarized 20 amps. NOT 30 amps. Which for even s small RV is extremely minimal and will pop the breaker if you run mire then just the A/C and anything else.#4.5 the site was NOT cleaned up at all; there was no less then about 20 nasty cigarette buts littering the grounds of our tiny site. And NO_im NOT cleaning up after someone else's nasty habbits.#5 they have an impeccable and exhausting list of "rules." OMG_ !!#6 Someone on some other posts talked about the laundry. We went and looked at them. The triple loaders are $5 per load, and the dryers are .25 cents per 5 minutes. BUT the washers and dryers are BRAND NEW! _lots of them and lots of dryers (ALL) Are brand NEW!!#6 complaints about the bathrooms _ what bathrooms are they using?! Because the bathrooms we went into don't have any real issues, several stalls, and a few showers and mostly clean, no problems with floors or ceiling issues seen whatsoever.#7 the people who pulled in next to us, a class C motor home came, left, them returned and took off and left there motor home for HOURS and there smoke detector or CO2 detector BEEPING repeatedly and loud so it's annoying clear into our trailer. They even returned for a few minutes. we saw the women go INTO their motorhome for a moment for whatever. We even heard the guy ask her if that noise was coming from THAIR rig. But then they both took off back around down the road on foot again. Leaving us and everyone around to deal with their attrocious beeping motorhome. They didn't return again for several more hours and FINALLY shut off their stupid noise!!I'm definitely NOT very happy with this place and definitely will NOT be returning. The only positive I feel is it is only like a 20 minute walk to the ferries that will take you to the peers that are down from the boat tour to alkatraz island.
Jul 26, 2024 · A Crazy LifeGo here!Compared to the two only alternatives Sa Fran RV Resort and Candlestick RV Park it is your best choice. One RV Site is 115$ with full hook up and clean pool in July 2023. Also close to the highway, but nice locations near by and a friendly service. The other two alternatives have a price per night with full hook up 145$ and no pool and the service on the phone etc was poor - see my reviews.
Jul 25, 2023 · Marc MöllerI’m sure it seems pricey for what it is when coming from out of town , but you’re in ca and in the city. So it’s reasonable . Staff is so nice . Place is clean . Great area for walking the dog . Hot showers . Good WiFi . Locals are nice . Have stayed a handful of times on my trip so far . Been very convenient for me .
Mar 12, 2025 · Jonathan FerrisWe stayed here for 8 weeks. The spots are tiny, especially for the price, and we missed being able to hang out right outside of our camper. No room to set up chairs, a table, or even put your awning out. The bathrooms and laundry area were always clean, and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed the walking trails, and made lots of friends here! They were very accommodating with giving us a spot for our 2nd vehicle. If we’re ever back in the area, we would absolutely stay again.
