Monte del Lago

13100 Monte Del Lago, Castroville, CA 95012, USA

3.0
After being forced to move from my apt in Marina 5 years ago, I bought a home here and was thrilled. Amenities are attractive, Tim the groundskeeper is sweet and does a good job, and most residents take pride in their properties. And being on the slough is amazing. It feels safe and neighborly, which is a rare thing nowadays. New property manager Toshi Wade is significantly less distracted than the previous one, and the weekly emails are appreciated. Though with a large Spanish speaking population here, it would be kind to also send them out in Spanish. (Easy enough with translation tools.)Downsides: There is a persistent issue with loose dogs that poop in the streets and elsewhere. And some owners don't bother picking up when walking their dog, a health code violation. Despite emails saying we should call animal control if we see a loose dog, no one does, presumably because of the sentiments toward errant dog owners. Also, I believe this park is the priciest in MoCo, and I absolutely agree with B. Harper that rent stabilization should be considered for us seniors on fixed income. I also agree that money should be spent on trimming some of the largest trees. - Candida Kutz

Monte del Lago Introduce

Are you searching for exceptional "RV parks near me" that offer more than just a temporary stay? Consider Monte del Lago in Castroville, California. While listed under categories that might include short-term RV parks, Monte del Lago is a distinguished mobile home park providing a unique and established residential community. This detailed introduction aims to provide local users with a comprehensive understanding of Monte del Lago, drawing from authentic resident feedback available online to present an objective overview of its environment, services, and features.

Located at 13100 Monte Del Lago, Castroville, CA 95012, USA, Monte del Lago offers a distinctive living experience characterized by its attractive amenities and its stunning location directly on the slough. For inquiries, you can contact them at (888) 509-1676 or via mobile at +1 888-509-1676.

Resident reviews paint a picture of a community that many are "thrilled" to call home. One long-term resident, who moved to Monte del Lago five years ago, highlights several positive aspects. The "amenities are attractive," suggesting that the park offers features designed to enhance the quality of life for its residents. The mention of Tim, the groundskeeper, being "sweet and does a good job" indicates that the park takes pride in its maintenance and the positive demeanor of its staff. Furthermore, the observation that "most residents take pride in their properties" contributes to the overall aesthetic appeal and community spirit of Monte del Lago.

A significant highlight of Monte del Lago is its "amazing" location "on the slough." Waterfront living offers unique opportunities for enjoying nature and potentially water-related activities, adding a special dimension to the residential experience. The feeling of safety and neighborliness is also frequently mentioned, described as "a rare thing nowadays," emphasizing the strong sense of community within the park. This aspect is a significant draw for those seeking a supportive and connected living environment.

Recent improvements in management are also noteworthy. The new property manager, Toshi Wade, is described as "significantly less distracted than the previous one," suggesting a more focused and effective management style. Residents appreciate the "weekly emails," indicating proactive communication and keeping residents informed about community matters. The suggestion to translate these emails into Spanish reflects the park's diverse population and a desire for inclusive communication.

However, resident feedback also points out areas for potential improvement. A "persistent issue with loose dogs that poop in the streets and elsewhere" is a concern, along with some owners not picking up after their pets, which is noted as a "health code violation." The fact that residents are hesitant to call animal control due to "sentiments toward errant dog owners" suggests a need for community-driven solutions or more effective enforcement of pet policies.

Another significant point raised by residents is the cost of living, with one stating, "I believe this park is the priciest in MoCo." The suggestion for "rent stabilization...for us seniors on fixed income" highlights concerns about affordability and the impact of increasing space rent on long-term residents. Additionally, the recommendation that "money should be spent on trimming some of the largest trees" indicates a need for ongoing maintenance and attention to the park's infrastructure and natural elements.

Another long-term resident of approximately four years shares a "mostly positive experience." They specifically commend Liz and Shannon for being "kind and attentive," ensuring the community "runs smoothly" and remains "a safe, welcoming place." The mention of "strict rules and regulations" is presented positively, as these are seen as crucial for "maintaining a clean, peaceful, and well-kept environment." This structure and commitment to safety are key reasons why this resident continues to call Monte del Lago home. The primary downside echoed is the "increasing space rent, which rises every year and can be challenging to keep up with."

The dedication of the maintenance man, Tim, is consistently praised. He is described as working "tirelessly to keep the park in great shape" and handling repairs "quickly and efficiently." His "friendly smile and a positive attitude" further contribute to the positive community atmosphere, showing genuine care for the residents.

There is optimism regarding the new manager, Toshi, with confidence that he will bring "the same level of dedication and leadership needed to ensure the park remains well-maintained and meets the needs of its residents." The "consistency of the weekly emails and reminders" is again appreciated for keeping residents informed about important community updates.

Based on the available information, Monte del Lago offers a range of attractive features and services, likely including:

  • Direct access to the slough, providing unique waterfront living opportunities.
  • Attractive amenities, the specifics of which would be beneficial to inquire about directly. These could include recreational facilities, community centers, or other features enhancing resident quality of life.
  • Well-maintained grounds, as indicated by the positive comments about the groundskeeper and the pride residents take in their properties.
  • Responsive management, particularly with the positive feedback regarding the new manager and the consistent communication through weekly emails.
  • A strong sense of community and neighborliness, frequently highlighted in resident reviews.
  • Established infrastructure to support mobile home living, including necessary utilities.

While specific promotional offers are not mentioned in the provided text, the positive testimonials regarding the environment, amenities, and the sense of community serve as strong endorsements for Monte del Lago. The unique waterfront location on the slough is a significant selling point, offering a lifestyle that is not commonly found in other mobile home parks or even some "RV parks near me" that primarily cater to short-term stays.

For local users searching for "RV parks near me" with an eye towards a long-term, community-oriented living situation, Monte del Lago presents a compelling option. Its attractive amenities, waterfront location, and generally positive resident experiences are significant advantages. However, potential residents should be aware of the concerns raised regarding loose dogs and increasing space rent and should inquire about current policies and costs. Direct communication with the management at (888) 509-1676 or +1 888-509-1676 is crucial to obtain the most up-to-date information on lot availability, pricing, pet policies, community rules, and the full range of amenities offered.

In conclusion, Monte del Lago appears to be a well-regarded mobile home park in Castroville, CA, offering a unique living experience with attractive amenities and a strong sense of community, enhanced by its location on the slough. While there are areas for improvement identified by residents, the overall sentiment suggests a positive living environment. Local users seeking a long-term residential option within a friendly and well-maintained community should consider exploring Monte del Lago further.
