Ogden Park Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Allenhurst, Georgia area, it's important to understand the nature of Ogden Park, located in Allenhurst, GA 31301, USA. While categorized under platforms that might list RV parks, the available information suggests that Ogden Park is primarily a mobile home park with a small section that may accommodate RVs. This distinction is crucial for potential visitors to ensure it meets their specific needs and expectations.
One of the most significant aspects highlighted in the customer reviews is the welcoming atmosphere within Ogden Park. One reviewer specifically described it as a "very nice mobile home park" where "people are friendly and polite," further stating that it's a "nice place to live!" This strong endorsement of the community spirit suggests that residents and potentially short-term visitors can expect a positive and neighborly environment. This sense of community can be a significant draw for those seeking a welcoming and social living situation, whether for a short stay in an RV or as a permanent resident in a mobile home.
However, it is imperative to address a critical concern raised by another reviewer regarding access to Ogden Park, particularly for larger vehicles such as Class A RVs. This review indicates that "The Ogden RV park is a very small part (one street) of the large resort." This suggests that the RV accommodation is limited and perhaps not the primary focus of the overall property. More importantly, the reviewer strongly cautions about the road leading in and out, specifically "Legion Gate," describing it as "very narrow and winding, awful in wide vehicles." They recounted a stressful experience where they could only navigate the road with the assistance of staff who had to lead them and block traffic. Based on this experience, the reviewer explicitly stated they "will not stay with our Class A again," deeming it "not worth the stress and fear of an accident." This is a crucial piece of information for anyone considering visiting Ogden Park in a large RV or similar wide vehicle.
The same reviewer also provided additional observations about the environment within the park. They noted that the access road winds "in and around permanent RVs which were questionably maintained," and that "residents speed around the winding roads." These points raise concerns about the overall aesthetic and the safety of navigating within the park, particularly for those unfamiliar with the layout or driving larger vehicles. The mention of "questionably maintained" permanent RVs could suggest a less than pristine visual environment in certain areas. The issue of residents speeding on winding roads is a safety concern that potential visitors should be aware of.
Furthermore, this reviewer pointed out that "The list of dos and don’ts are ridiculous, threats of fines!" While specific rules and regulations are common in residential parks to maintain order and community standards, the reviewer's strong reaction suggests that these rules might be perceived as excessive or overly strict. This could be a factor for those seeking a more relaxed and less regulated environment during their stay.
On a more positive note, the reviewer mentioned that "Deer wander freely" within the area, although they also noted seeing deer on the highway leading to the park, implying a natural environment where wildlife is present. While the presence of wildlife can be appealing to some, it also necessitates caution while driving and awareness of potential interactions.
Considering these contrasting reviews, Ogden Park appears to be primarily a mobile home community with a small, potentially challenging-to-access area for RVs. The strong sense of community and friendly residents are significant positives, particularly for those seeking a long-term living situation or a welcoming neighborhood feel. However, the serious concerns raised about the narrow and winding access road, especially for large vehicles, the maintenance of some permanent RVs, internal speeding, and potentially strict rules are factors that potential visitors, especially RVers, must carefully consider.
Given that Ogden Park is described as a "large resort" with the RV park being a "very small part," it is possible that the overall property offers other amenities or features that were not mentioned in these specific reviews. However, without further information, we must focus on the details provided by these firsthand accounts.
For local users specifically searching for "RV parks near me," Ogden Park might not be the ideal choice, particularly if they are traveling in large RVs. The access issues described could lead to significant stress and potential damage to vehicles. However, for those in smaller RVs or those primarily interested in the mobile home community aspect, the friendly atmosphere could be appealing.
As no information regarding services or promotional offers was included in the provided text, it is impossible to comment on these aspects. Local users interested in learning more about Ogden Park, whether for RV stays or mobile home living, should attempt to contact the park management directly. Unfortunately, no phone number or website was provided in the given information. Prospective residents or visitors might need to search online directories or local listings for contact details.
In conclusion, Ogden Park in Allenhurst, GA, is characterized by a friendly and polite community within its mobile home section. However, potential RV visitors, especially those with larger vehicles, must be aware of the significant challenges posed by the narrow and winding Legion Gate access road, as highlighted by a recent reviewer. Other concerns include the maintenance of some permanent RVs and speeding within the park. While the community aspect is a strong positive, the accessibility issues for RVs are a major consideration that should not be overlooked by local users searching for "RV parks near me." Further investigation and direct contact with the park management are recommended to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the facilities and any specific services offered to RVers.

The Ogden RV park is a very small part (one street) of the large resort - Everyone nice but beware the road (Legion Gate) in and out is very narrow and winding, awful in wide vehicles. Could not have made it in or out without offer of staff to lead us and block traffic. Will not stay with our Class A again, not worth the stress and fear of an accident. You wind in and around permanent RVs which were questionably maintained, residents speed around the winding roads.. The list of dos and don’ts are ridiculous, threats of fines! Deer wander freely but can see those on highway getting there. Not a relaxing stay.
