Rolling Hills Mobile Home Park Introduce
Welcome to Rolling Hills Mobile Home Park, located at 148 Old Ravena Rd, Selkirk, NY 12158, USA. If you are in the Selkirk, New York area and searching for a mobile home community or considering 'RV parks near me' for potential long-term stays, Rolling Hills Mobile Home Park offers a perspective with both positive and negative aspects, according to online reviews. You can reach them at (845) 297-4843 or +1 845-297-4843 for inquiries.
Several residents at Rolling Hills Mobile Home Park have expressed positive feelings about their neighbors and their homes. One reviewer stated, "Love my house! Love my neighbors!" Another echoed this sentiment, mentioning, "The positives; like I said neighbors are work full! I love my house." This suggests a potentially strong sense of community among the residents, which can be a significant benefit of mobile home park living.
The park also boasts a "good playground," which is highlighted as a positive feature for families with children. Another resident mentioned that the "Playground is nice for kids." Additionally, the park is described as a "Quiet park off of 9w," indicating a location that might offer a degree of peace away from the main road.
However, the reviews also raise several significant concerns, primarily related to the management and park operations. One detailed review lists several "Cons," starting with an observation that certain management personnel (Gene, Lucy, or John) are "overly nice" initially but allegedly engage in practices that could violate fair housing laws by steering potential residents towards Rolling Hills and away from another park. This reviewer also makes a serious accusation regarding the removal and scrapping of home axles by the management.
The same review notes an annual rent increase of 6% without corresponding capital improvements and mentions the absence of an on-site manager, which reportedly has led to the park becoming "party central." Issues with parking are also raised, as there is no overflow parking available. Furthermore, residents have reported having multiple photographs taken of their homes by individuals in cars or trucks, regardless of the property's appearance.
Another resident shared negative experiences with both past and present management. They described the first manager as "awful" and accused her of theft, leading to police involvement. Regarding the new management (Wendy, Dorota, or an unidentified manager), the reviewer states that "No one responds!" They also point out the continued annual 6% lot rent increase, which they feel is unjustified as promised improvements (like the playground from five years ago and an allegedly overpriced basketball hoop) do not align with the ongoing rent hikes. This reviewer believes the owner might be overextended and hiring ineffective managers, leading to neglect of this particular park.
Concerns were also raised about the maintenance staff, who are described as "slowly working" and not always completing requested repairs. This is attributed to them having to provide their own tools and likely being underpaid, resulting in a lack of motivation to go "above and beyond," which in turn dissatisfies residents.
For those searching for 'RV parks near me', the reviews do not explicitly mention whether Rolling Hills Mobile Home Park accommodates recreational vehicles. Given that it is primarily described as a mobile home park, its suitability for RVs, especially for short-term stays, is uncertain. If you are an RV owner looking in the Selkirk area, you would need to contact the park directly to inquire about their policies on RVs, availability of sites, and any related amenities.
Selkirk, NY, is located in Albany County and offers a suburban setting with access to the Albany metropolitan area. While the location itself might be convenient, the internal environment and management of Rolling Hills Mobile Home Park, based on the reviews, present a mixed picture.
In summary, Rolling Hills Mobile Home Park in Selkirk, NY, appears to have a friendly community atmosphere and a decent playground. However, there are significant concerns regarding the management's practices, including alleged violations of fair housing, the handling of residents' property, rent increases without apparent reinvestment, and issues with responsiveness and maintenance. For those considering this park, it is crucial to weigh these points carefully. For individuals seeking 'RV parks near me', direct inquiry about RV accommodations is necessary.
To learn more about Rolling Hills Mobile Home Park, including any current policies or to address the concerns raised in the reviews, please contact them at (845) 297-4843 or +1 845-297-4843. Rolling Hills Mobile Home Park Reviews
Pros: A good playgroundCons: When you meet Gene, Lucy or John they are overly nice. They will certainly violate fair housing laws when they tell you more families come to Rolling Hills steering you away from the other park up the road. Once you get your home- even if you purchase it, management is kind enough to remove your axels and then sell them for scrap. In fact once every so often the tractor trailer pulls up and you can watch them do it. The management is sometimes even kind enough to allow the driver to sleep in the truck, in our parking lot over night. Rent in raised annually 6% with no capital improvements. There is no longer an on site manager and since then, this place has become party central. There is no overflow parking. Be prepared to also have multiple photographs taken of your home by someone in a car or a truck, this will happen regardless of the appearance of your home. To sum it up, if you like a playground and don’t mind the other stuff this is a great place to rent/own. If you want peace of quiet, a relaxing place to live and to feel proud of where you come to rest your head at night- this isn’t it.
Apr 03, 2023 · Jesse MCcormickLove my house! Love my neighbors!Management….. first one was awful, and stealing from company. Cops were called on her multiple times by multiple residents. New management…. Wendy, Dorota…. Who knows who the manager is?! No one responds! Raised lot rent 6% which is fine if they actually fixed things, and we’re still claiming it’s for the playground that the put in 5 years ago, or claiming that the basketball “court” aka HOOP was $8700 😂 I honestly believe the owner has taken on way too much at his age, and just hires the wrong people to run his company. I think him and his sons have great intentions…. But they’re so overwhelmed with all their parks that this one gets put on the back burner. Maintenance people are slowing working, don’t come to fix/ finish things when asked…. But you get what you pay for right? They have to provide their own tools, and probably aren’t paid much so why would you go above and beyond?! Which then makes residents unhappy. The positives; like I said neighbors are work full! I love my house. Playground is nice for kids. Quiet park off of 9w.
