Route 82 RV Park is situated in Savoy, a small town in Fannin County, Texas. Savoy offers a rural, country setting, which can be appealing to those seeking a quieter and more laid-back environment. The park's location directly on US-82 suggests relatively easy access to the highway, potentially making it a convenient stop for travelers or a longer-term residence with straightforward road connections to nearby areas.
The customer reviews for Route 82 RV Park present a somewhat contrasting picture, highlighting unique aspects of the environment while also raising potential concerns. One long-term resident, who has been there since 2017, expresses a strong affinity for the park, describing it as a good and less expensive option for hanging out. This resident mentions a distinctive feature: a significant duck population that, in the past, caused damage but was subsequently managed. They also note a 10-acre field available for jogging, indicating a spacious environment with room for outdoor activities. This reviewer characterizes the location as "Texas" and "country," suggesting a rural and perhaps rustic atmosphere that many might appreciate.
In contrast, another reviewer who visited the park while looking at a used RV for rental purposes had a negative impression. They described several RVs as being in poor condition and reported witnessing a dog attempting to harm the park's ducks. Based on these observations, this reviewer concluded that it was "not a good place." A subsequent response from this reviewer clarifies that their assessment was based on their personal opinion during their visit as a prospective buyer and was not as a resident.
These reviews highlight a key aspect of Route 82 RV Park: its rural, country environment, which includes the presence of wildlife like ducks and open spaces. For some, this might be a charming and desirable feature, offering a connection to nature and room for recreation. The long-term resident's positive experience supports this view, emphasizing the park's appeal as a less expensive option with a friendly atmosphere.
However, the negative review points to potential concerns regarding the condition of some RVs within the park and the management of interactions between pets and wildlife. While the negative review was from a visitor looking at a specific RV and not a resident, it still raises questions about the overall upkeep and rules within the community.
Information regarding specific services and features offered at Route 82 RV Park is somewhat limited in the provided data. Based on the positive review, we can infer some amenities:
- Spacious grounds, including a 10-acre field for recreation.
- A potentially pet-friendly environment, although the negative review raises questions about control and interactions with wildlife.
- A community with long-term residents, suggesting a degree of stability.
- A location that is perceived as "less expensive" compared to other options.
However, typical RV park services that are not explicitly mentioned but are often expected include:
- Utility hookups for RVs (electricity, water, sewer).
- Waste disposal services.
- Roads and access within the park.
- Potentially, laundry facilities, restrooms, and showers, although these are not confirmed in the reviews.
Promotional information for Route 82 RV Park is not explicitly stated in the reviews. However, the long-term resident's comments indirectly serve as a form of positive promotion, highlighting its affordability, quiet country setting, and friendly community. The mention of the 10-acre field could also be seen as a promotional point for those seeking outdoor space.
On the other hand, the negative review serves as a cautionary note, suggesting that potential residents or visitors should assess the condition of the facilities and the management of pets and wildlife for themselves. The park might appeal to those who appreciate a more rustic and natural environment and are looking for a less expensive option, as indicated by the long-term resident. However, it's crucial for prospective residents to reconcile this positive view with the concerns raised by the visitor regarding the condition of some RVs and the interaction between a dog and the park's ducks.
In conclusion, Route 82 RV Park in Savoy, TX, offers a country setting with unique features like a significant duck population and a large field for recreation, as appreciated by a long-term resident who also highlights its affordability. However, a visitor's negative experience regarding the condition of some RVs and an incident involving a dog and the ducks suggests potential areas of concern. Potential residents searching for "RV parks near me" in the Savoy area should consider the contrasting feedback and the park's rural environment. Visiting the park in person to assess the overall condition, the management of pets and wildlife, and the amenities offered would be a prudent step in making an informed decision. The park might be a good fit for those who value a less expensive, country atmosphere and are comfortable with the unique aspects of this particular RV park.

Route 82 RV Park Reviews
Let me tell you about these ducks. Two years ago we had so many ducks they destroyed the foam siding on the permanent guest. We rounded them up and sold them. I eat the eggs in the early spring and harvest the drakes. You got to understand what your talking about. If you want a less expensive rv park to hang out in then this one is good. Got a 10 acre field to jog around. I've been here since 2017 , I love it. That was probably little Maggie Sue retrieving the ducks for me. This is Texas and this is country. Most people will love this place.
Oct 18, 2024 · Tony KirbyI drove out to look at a used RV to purchase for a rental. The RV was horrible. Several RV's were in similar condition. I saw a dog trying to kill the park ducks. In my opinion, it's not a good place.Response:I was invited in the park by a resident. Didn't know residents needed permission from the office. Yes , it is my opinion that this is not a good location. That's what a REVIEW is. An opinion...!!!

Oct 08, 2024 · JudyNice park but there is one thing does not make sense. The one way drive on the none tree side. Put the one way going the same direction of the lots. Common Sense lacks for that. But other than that no complaints.
Apr 18, 2024 · Timothy AldermanMy wife and I frequent this park. The grounds are lovely with options for an open lot or a beatiful evergreen covered area. The park is kept clean and quite while still keeping the secluded feel. The manager, Joyce, has been a delight and a fantastic help to my wife and I. It is affordable, comfortable, and absolutely lovely. We will continue to come to this place regularly.
