Somerset KY RV Park Introduce
For local users seeking "RV parks near me" in Somerset, Kentucky, the Somerset KY RV Park located at 794 Meadow Dr offers a stay with notable aspects highlighted in customer reviews. While opinions vary regarding certain aspects, the park appears to provide essential services and a generally welcoming atmosphere, particularly praised for its owners' attentiveness and the reliability of its utilities. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the environment, services, features, and any potential drawbacks based on the available feedback, allowing local users to make an informed decision.
Environment and Location:
Somerset KY RV Park is situated in Somerset, Kentucky, a region known for its proximity to Lake Cumberland, a major recreational area. The address on Meadow Dr suggests a location that may be slightly removed from the immediate hustle of the main tourist areas but still within reasonable access to the amenities and attractions of Somerset and the lake. The environment surrounding the RV park is likely to be characterized by the rolling hills and natural landscapes typical of south-central Kentucky. While the immediate setting of the park (e.g., tree cover, proximity to natural features) is not detailed in the reviews, the general area offers a blend of rural charm and access to outdoor recreation.
One reviewer noted the park as a "great place to stay," implying a pleasant overall environment. However, another review mentioned "flood lights on all night," which could be a factor affecting the ambiance and potentially light-sensitive individuals. This suggests that while the park might be functional and well-maintained, the lighting situation could be a consideration for some visitors.
Services and Amenities:
The owners of Somerset KY RV Park receive high praise in one review for their exceptional attentiveness and care for the guests' safety. During a tornado warning, the owners proactively notified every camper and provided shelter inside a house until the threat passed. This level of concern and proactive assistance is a significant positive aspect of the park's service. Furthermore, the owner is mentioned as being helpful upon arrival, offering assistance with setting up, which can be particularly valuable for those new to RVing or unfamiliar with the site.
The park offers reliable utilities, with one reviewer specifically noting that the "electric is 100% on." This dependability of essential services is crucial for a comfortable RV stay. Cable television is also available, although guests will need to provide their own female-to-female connector to hook up their cable line to the park's connection. This is a minor detail but important for those planning to use the cable TV service.
Cleanliness is another aspect mentioned, with one reviewer stating the place is "very clean." This suggests that the park management prioritizes maintaining a tidy environment for their guests. However, another reviewer described the "average cleanliness," indicating that experiences may vary or that the standards might not be exceptional but still acceptable.
One notable point of contention in the reviews is the park's checkout policy. One reviewer mentioned being "kicked out at 1 p.m. checkout with several sites open," which they perceived as unfriendly and potentially contributing to the park being one of the few with open sites. This strict adherence to the checkout time, even with availability, could be a drawback for some travelers who might appreciate more flexibility.
The pricing is described as "average," suggesting that the park's rates are competitive within the local market for RV parks.
Features and Community:
While specific features of the park, such as recreational facilities, are not mentioned, the positive interactions with the owners suggest a potentially friendly and community-oriented atmosphere. The proactive response during the tornado warning indicates a level of care that goes beyond basic management. The willingness of the owner to assist with setup also contributes to a welcoming environment for new arrivals.
The availability of cable TV is a feature that caters to those who enjoy entertainment during their stay. The reliability of the electrical service ensures that RVers can comfortably use their appliances and systems without interruption.
However, the mention of "flood lights on all night" could be seen as both a security feature and a potential nuisance, depending on an individual's preferences regarding nighttime lighting. For those who prefer darker environments for sleeping, this could be a drawback.
The strict checkout time, as mentioned in one review, might impact the overall experience for some guests, potentially making the stay feel less accommodating, especially if their travel plans are slightly delayed or if they were hoping for a more relaxed departure.
The fact that one reviewer found the park to be a "great place to stay" suggests that, overall, the positive aspects such as the friendly owners, clean environment, and reliable utilities outweigh the potential negatives for many visitors.

Somerset KY RV Park Reviews
Great owners we had a tornado warming. They came and knocked on every camper and let us inside a house until it passed. Pulled in and the owner came out and asked if I need anything and he helped me get set up. Cable works great you will need a female to female connector to hook up you cable lone to the connection. Electric is 100% on and the place is very clean. Great place to stay.
May 19, 2022 · Roger SaddlerFriendly over the phone. Average prices. Average cleanliness. Flood lights on all night. Kicked us out at 1 p.m. checkout with several sites open. Not a wonder they were one of the only places with open sites.
