Southern Comfort RV Park Introduce
For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Elberta, Alabama area, Southern Comfort RV Park, located on Happy Acres Dr, presents itself as a potential option. However, the available customer reviews paint a concerning picture of the park's infrastructure, maintenance, and management responsiveness, which prospective residents should carefully consider before making any decisions.
Location and Accessibility:
Southern Comfort RV Park is situated on Happy Acres Drive in Elberta, Alabama. Elberta is a town in Baldwin County, known for its rural charm and proximity to the Gulf Coast. The specific location on Happy Acres Drive suggests a setting that may offer a quieter, more country-like environment. For local users seeking "RV parks near me" in this area, the accessibility of Southern Comfort RV Park to local amenities, services, and potential attractions in Elberta and the surrounding region would be a factor to consider. However, the positive aspects of the location are overshadowed by the significant issues raised in the customer reviews.
Environment and Upkeep Concerns:
The customer reviews for Southern Comfort RV Park raise serious red flags regarding the park's upkeep and infrastructure. One reviewer reported an "overflowing" septic tank, preventing them from moving into their RV despite having paid for the month. This indicates a potentially significant issue with the park's waste management system. Another long-term resident detailed multiple problems, including undersized and improperly hooked-up electrical wiring that caused costly repairs to their camper on two occasions. This suggests a potentially systemic issue with the park's electrical infrastructure, posing both inconvenience and financial burden to residents. Furthermore, this reviewer described instances of the owner mowing the property with "absolutely no regard for your property," resulting in rocks being thrown and damaging campers, cargo trailers, and vehicles on two separate occasions, with no willingness to repair the damage. The same reviewer also reported a "broken septic hook up next to us that seeped raw sewage during rain" for an extended period of four months before it was finally fixed. These accounts paint a picture of a park suffering from significant maintenance neglect and a disregard for residents' property and well-being.
Services and Amenities: Critical Issues Reported:
The severely negative reviews highlight critical failures in essential services. The overflowing septic tank directly impacts the habitability of the RV sites. The electrical issues described are not only inconvenient but also potentially dangerous and costly for residents. The prolonged seepage of raw sewage from a broken septic hookup represents a serious health and safety concern. While the reviews do not provide a comprehensive list of all amenities, the focus on these critical failures suggests that the basic infrastructure and maintenance are severely lacking. The positive aspects of any potential amenities are completely overshadowed by these significant and unresolved issues.
Management and Responsiveness: Major Concerns:
The feedback regarding the management of Southern Comfort RV Park is also deeply concerning. The reviewer with the overflowing septic tank reported that "The manager has not answered my text messages. The phone's voicemail is full. Do not rent here!!!" This complete lack of communication and responsiveness to a resident unable to move into their paid site is alarming. The long-term resident who detailed the electrical and property damage issues mentioned that "The park manager, Robby, has tried to be very helpful and get our issues resolved but his hands are tied by the owner." This suggests a disconnect between the on-site manager's willingness to help and the owner's apparent inaction or unwillingness to address the serious problems. This situation leaves residents in a precarious position, facing unresolved infrastructure and maintenance issues with limited recourse.
Promotional Information and Call to Action:
Given the severely negative and concerning nature of the available customer reviews, it would be irresponsible and misleading to present any form of promotional information for Southern Comfort RV Park at this time. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Elberta, Alabama, are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and carefully consider the significant issues reported by current and prospective residents of Southern Comfort RV Park. The allegations of overflowing septic tanks, hazardous electrical wiring, property damage due to negligent maintenance, prolonged sewage leaks, and unresponsive management raise serious concerns about the safety, habitability, and overall quality of this RV park. Potential renters should thoroughly investigate these issues, seek additional and recent feedback from other sources, and potentially consider alternative RV park options in the Elberta area that have a more positive and reliable track record.
Addressing the "RV Parks Near Me" Category:
While Southern Comfort RV Park may appear in searches for "RV parks near me" in Elberta, AL, the critical issues highlighted in the customer reviews serve as a stark warning. The fundamental expectation of an RV park is to provide safe and functional essential services and a reasonably maintained environment. The reported failures in septic and electrical systems, coupled with property damage and poor management responsiveness, indicate that Southern Comfort RV Park may not meet these basic expectations. Individuals searching within this category for a comfortable and reliable place to park their RV should be highly wary of the serious problems reported by those with direct experience at this park.
In conclusion, the available information regarding Southern Comfort RV Park in Elberta, AL, paints a deeply concerning picture. The allegations of overflowing septic tanks, hazardous electrical issues, property damage due to negligent maintenance, prolonged sewage problems, and unresponsive management are significant red flags that potential residents cannot ignore. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Elberta area are strongly advised to proceed with extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence, seeking additional and recent information, before considering Southern Comfort RV Park as a viable option. The reported issues suggest a potentially unsafe and poorly managed environment that could lead to significant problems and expenses for RV owners.

Southern Comfort RV Park Reviews
I am trying to move into my RV that I parked at Southern Comfort RV Park, but the septic tank is overflowing! I paid for the month of August and haven't been able to move in. The manager has not answered my text messages. The phone's voicemail is full. Do not rent here!!!
Aug 21, 2024 · Shirley KelleyMy wife and I have been at this park for 4 months. When we first arrived we had electrical issues, thinking it was my camper we a repair guy out. Again today same issues upon further investigation we found the park wires are under sized and and not properly hooked up. Twice now it has cost over 300 dollars. Also when the owner does decide to mow, which is not very often, there is absolutely no regard for your property. Throwing rocks hitting our camper, cargo trail and vehicles on 2 occasions and not willing to fix any damage. There was also a broken septic hook up next to us that seeped raw sewage during rain. That was finally fixed after 4 months. The park manager, Robby, has tried to be very helpful and get our issues resolved but his hands are tied by the owner. Please beware and make sure these issues are repaired before renting here.
Sep 22, 2023 · Michael KaneRandy & Christine are great hosts; friendly and fast to respond. The park is new, clean and amenities are “coming soon”, so no onsite laundry or washrooms yet. Pads are crushed stone and easy to back into. The convenient location is near Elberta and Foley, AL. Be sure to try Mr. Burrito 2 miles away on 98. Great food and live music on Friday nights.
