To provide local users with a detailed and objective introduction to Sugar Mill RV Park, based on available information, it's important to consider feedback from previous visitors. Online reviews offer valuable insights into the actual experiences of campers, helping potential guests form realistic expectations. Several reviews for Sugar Mill RV Park paint a concerning picture regarding guest experience.
One reviewer explicitly advises others not to waste their time booking at Sugar Mill RV Park, stating it was "one of the worst" experiences encountered during their travels. Key issues highlighted include perceived rudeness from staff and a feeling of unsafety. The reviewer also mentioned a noisy environment and a significant number of full-time residents, which may detract from the experience of short-term travelers seeking a relaxing getaway.
This negative experience led the reviewer and their travel companions to leave Sugar Mill RV Park prematurely. They emphasized that for them, camping is about relaxation and feeling safe, neither of which they found at this location. This sentiment underscores the importance of a welcoming and secure environment for RV travelers.
Interestingly, the same reviewer shared a positive experience at another nearby RV park, Butter Bean RV Park in Meigs, Georgia. They described Butter Bean as a "hidden gem" and a "don't miss" location in Georgia, placing it among their top three best park experiences. Their first impression was overwhelmingly positive, citing a warm greeting from the owners, Keith and Jessy, which stood in stark contrast to their experience at Sugar Mill RV Park.
At Butter Bean RV Park, the reviewer appreciated the well-maintained grounds with green grass surrounding the sites and the convenience of full hookups. The proximity to a large dog park was a significant plus for pet owners. The quieter setting off a dirt road, along with amenities like a laundry room with reasonable prices and a pleasant porch with rocking chairs, contributed to a relaxing atmosphere. The reviewer specifically mentioned the friendly neighbors, further enhancing the sense of community and comfort.
Another review for Sugar Mill RV Park echoed concerns about the service. This reviewer did not end up staying at the park, noting that while the park "looked fine for an overnight stay," they were unimpressed by the service, or lack thereof. The reservation process was described as minimal, with only the last name and dates being recorded. Upon arrival at 1:30 PM, the office was closed, and no information packet was available. A phone call to the provided number was answered with "Is this an emergency?" The reviewer recounted being told rudely that the office would open at 3 PM and being hung up on when inquiring about setting up earlier. This negative interaction led them to decide against staying at Sugar Mill RV Park, disrupting their travel plans for the Thomasville area.
This second review further emphasizes the importance of customer service in the hospitality industry, particularly for travelers who may be arriving at different times and require clear communication and a welcoming attitude. The reviewer, with experience in managing campgrounds, expressed disbelief at the treatment received.
Based on these firsthand accounts from individuals who attempted to stay at Sugar Mill RV Park, potential local users searching for "RV parks near me" should be aware of the reported issues concerning staff rudeness, feelings of unsafety, noise levels, and poor customer service. While the physical appearance of the park might seem adequate for a brief overnight stay, the overall experience, particularly regarding interactions with staff and the general atmosphere, appears to be a significant concern for some visitors.
It is crucial for individuals seeking a relaxing and safe camping experience to consider these reviews when making their decisions. While every individual's experience can vary, the consistency of negative feedback regarding service and atmosphere warrants careful consideration. Local users might want to weigh these reported drawbacks against any potential positives the park may offer, such as its location in Ochlocknee, GA.
For those prioritizing a welcoming environment, friendly service, and a sense of safety and tranquility, the positive review of Butter Bean RV Park in nearby Meigs offers a contrasting option that might be worth exploring. The reviewer's enthusiastic description highlights the positive aspects of that park, including the owners' hospitality, well-maintained facilities, and peaceful setting.
In conclusion, while Sugar Mill RV Park is located in Ochlocknee, Georgia, and may appear in local searches for "RV parks near me," potential guests should be aware of the negative experiences reported by previous visitors, particularly concerning staff interactions and the overall atmosphere. Considering these reviews is essential for making an informed decision about where to stay during your travels in the region.

Sugar Mill RV Park Reviews
Don’t waste your time booking here.In all our travels this was one of the worst .My biggest issues were ; they were rude, We didn’t feel safe. It was loud… and had a lot of full timers !Not the best !!!It was a huge inconvenience for us to say, “ let’s leave. “ However, camping to us is relaxing & feeling safe. Which neither one fit this place. We found a park not to far away that could take us.🏆 (BUTTER BEAN RV PARK) in Meigs , Ga. far of a drive from Sugar Mill. This park is a hidden gem, a don’t miss when in Georgia. Definitely in our top 3 best parks we have visited.Out First impression. We were greeted by Keith & Jessy upon arrival! ( Owners) They made us feel at home from the first smile. Total opposite of Sugar Mill .We took a sight across from the huge dog park.20 steps and the dogs could run and have fun.Immediately we felt at home…Full hookups, sights are surrounded by well kept beautiful green grass. Then there was Mother Nature at its best, it’s off a dirt road, so it’s nice and quiet. There was a laundry room, decent price compared to most parks & nice folding table, then I walked out to the porch where I could sit in a huge wooden rocking chair and enjoy just listening to the birds chirping, etc.I would say Butterbean will be our new favorite place. The calmness it gave us, grilling out, sitting by a fire, enjoying actually decent , friendly neighbors walking by.Priceless!!!Sorry Sugar Mill we gave your place a chance.Seems like others did as well. We won’t be back!Rv travelers, keep Butter Bean Rv on your map when in Georgia. There are restaurants & Stores in a town over. Not far… convenient stores are close by
Feb 09, 2025 · Brenda BuckWe ended up not staying. Park looked fine for overnight stay, but weren't too impressed with the service or lack of it I should say. When I made the reservation, she only took my last name and the dates. I offered more info but was told no I don't need it. Pulled in at 1:30 in the afternoon. Office wasn't open. No packet outside for our reservation. I called the office number. She answered with "Is this an emergency?" I said no and was told very rudely that the office will open at 3. I said I had a reservation and could I just go ahead and set up and come to the office at 3? Again told the office opens at 3 very rudely and she hung up. We decided it wasn't somewhere we wanted to be so we moved on. Ruined our plans for the Thomasville area the next day, but .... plans can be changed. Just disappointed. We have worked at and managed campgrounds for years and I just can't imagine treating a guest that way.

Mar 01, 2025 · ChandlerBeware thief’s are among you here, go elsewhere…Do not stay here, had items STOLEN off our rig while we were here!!!No lights, No cameras, No security of any sort. Open right off Hwy 19, it’s convenient, no doubt..thief's live here! There are other campgrounds on this route!!Don’t stay here !!!! You wake up next day, some items may be gone !!!!! Bad Campground go else where!!!
Nov 10, 2024 · Kathleen Luna-WrenWe were very excited to park here, called 2 months in advance to confirm a long term space & everything. Here comes the day to move in, we are SO excited! However, Nancy is EXTREMELY rude from the very beginning for no apparent reason, leaving us extremely confused. She doesn’t remember that we in advance spoke about long term, thinking we’re only there for 30 days- she even won’t allow you to install your own slide out topper- calling it “construction”. I could go on but don’t want to make this review any longer. My parents are local business owners, in Thomasville, in the hospitality business & it’s embarrassing to see someone in business around here not know BASIC communication or any human decency. You’re better off paying a little more to stay elsewhere.
