Based on enthusiastic feedback from hikers who have utilized their services, 100 Mile Wilderness Adventures provides invaluable support and a comfortable base for those tackling this challenging and beautiful stretch of the Appalachian Trail. One hiker recounts their experience hiking the 100 Mile Wilderness with a friend, highlighting the significant assistance provided by Phil, presumably one of the hosts or operators. Phil not only showed them additional camping options on a map, demonstrating local expertise, but also provided a crucial resupply service midway through their hike. This is an incredibly valuable offering for long-distance hikers who need to replenish food and gear without deviating significantly from the trail. The same reviewer describes Phil's place in Monson as "special," emphasizing its quiet and clean atmosphere. This is a welcome respite for weary hikers after days spent on the trail. The availability of showers is a significant amenity, allowing hikers to refresh and clean up after their arduous journey. Additionally, access to a kitchen provides the opportunity to prepare warm meals and repack supplies, while a lounge area offers a comfortable space to relax, socialize with other hikers, and recover before or after their trek. Another review comes from a group who used 100 Mile Wilderness Adventures as a "base camp" for hiking the initial 60 or so miles of the 100 Mile Wilderness. Their experience further reinforces the welcoming and helpful nature of this establishment. They also recount a "last minute shuttle" provided by Jordan, highlighting their responsiveness and willingness to go the extra mile to assist hikers facing unexpected logistical challenges.
The cleanliness of the camp itself is repeatedly praised, with the second reviewer describing it as "pristinely clean." This attention to hygiene is particularly important for hikers who prioritize a clean and comfortable environment during their downtime. The availability of a "hot shower" is also highlighted as being "SO amazing after a long day" on the trail, underscoring the value of this amenity for hiker recovery. 100 Mile Wilderness Adventures Reviews
Just hiked the 100 mile wilderness with a friend and had a great time. Phil was a huge help! He showed us additional camping options on a map, resupplied us half way through and shuttled us back to his place when we finished. His place in Monson is special. It's quiet and clean with showers, a kitchen and a lounge area. I highly recommend Phil if you are looking to hike in that area. Thanks Phil!!
Jul 12, 2018 · Stephen HawleyMy parents and I stayed here as a base camp to hike the first 60 or so miles of the 100 mile wilderness. We loved it here! Jordan was super friendly and helpful in setting up our adventure. He also came to our rescue once with a last minute shuttle. The camp itself is pristinely clean and the hot shower was SO amazing after a long day. Oh - and there are towels and sodas!!! We would definitely stay here again if we visit the area.

Feb 12, 2020 · Bartley IngramIt has been a dream of mine for several years to hike the 100 mile wilderness. When I was print it all together to make it happen I found this website full of great info that helped me pack and prep. On top of that, Phil, the owner provides shuttle service to the other end of the trail, had private cabins, or bunk houses, a shower house, community kitchen and Lounge and offers rescue pick-up up up if for some reason you cannot finish the trail. Phil was a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating. To anyone wanting to hike the 100 mile, I really couldn't recommend a better service, or place to stay.
Oct 01, 2017 · matt crowderHad an amazing trip! A friend and I hiked in the 100 mile wilderness for 7 days. Meeting Phil, our host, made my trip even better. We stayed at one of his cabins and he took care of all our shuttling and resupply needs. People like Phil is one of unexpected joys of hiking the AT. Thanks again Phil!
