Feb 23, 2025 · Km HaysWe travel around the United States, Mexico and Canada with our 5 dogs. We are usually accepted and welcomed at KOA campgrounds and felt especially welcome at this one. We came in after hours - available sites were posted and information left out and it was very easy to come in. The next morning everyone was very friendly and nice. The property is lovely too - beautiful stream running through and a huge lake for fishing/boating. Nice dog park. Definitely would stay there again.
Sep 11, 2024 · Albert MiliteThe property is beautiful with mountain views, lake, and a creek. We rented a lakeside cabin without a bathroom. I would not recommend this as the bathrooms were not close. The bathroom at the office looked 30 years old. The recently renovated bathroom had a broken stall, broken soap dispenser, cobwebs, and a dirty filter. I will say the water pressure was fantastic in both bathrooms, though. The AC unit in our cabin was loud and smelled terrible. Amenities seemed overpriced; $9 for a bundle of wood, and I think it was $12 for a bicycle for 30 minutes. I had higher expectations for a KOA. I would only stay there again in a camper with my own bathroom. That said, be sure to check out the breakfast food truck! Delicious food and fruit smoothies! The location was great because we discovered the awesome little town of Black Mountain.
Sep 09, 2024 · Amy KunzWe came in to the campground for an overnight stay on our way back home. We had not even gotten totally into our spot When our truck broke down ended up being here for 8 days. I have to say the staff here is absolutely wonderful. Top-notch all the way they were so accommodating in every way possible to make this situation a little easier. I cannot say enough about this KOA and it's staff. They are definitely representing very well. I also want to mention that the campground is very well maintained and clean which made us feel even more comfortable. Thank you to the entire staff you went way above and beyond Our expectations.
Jun 18, 2024 · Jody GreenThis campground is wonderful, especially for families. The staff was exceptional and courteous in all ways. The lake loops are beautiful, and the river is perfect for a day of play. The Saturday activities planned for kids were fun and offered variety. I am baffled by the negative reviews except for one thing - the tight spaces. I only saw this to be true in the loops closest to the office. The other sites over the river are just fine.
