Barnes Field Group Campground

Dolly Copp Rd, Gorham, NH 03581, USA

4.0
I went with a Tenkara fishing camp and it was a beautiful experience to come to this camp that was big enough to accommodate for 75 of us campers! We packed it out and it was cozy. We had enough space to do our fishing lessons in a large open field in the middle of the camp sites. The area (all around White Mountain) has tons of rivers and creeks that allowed us to all enjoy the fishing without feel overcrowded. Each camp site has 2 wooden tables and a fire pit, and there are also 2 sets of 2 bathrooms (4 toilets total) on two different opposite sides of the camp sites. The toilet paper was also always well stacked during the 4 days we were there. As well as the bear/raccoon trash bin was in the middle of the sites.I would say a very good option if you're in the area! - Ashley Hoffner

The surrounding area, particularly the White Mountain region, is rich with "tons of rivers and creeks," offering ample opportunities for fishing without feeling overcrowded. This makes it a prime location for local fishing enthusiasts and those who enjoy being near water.

The campground's location also provides quick access to various outdoor activities, including hiking and river swimming spots. For those looking to explore further or needing to resupply, it's just a short 5-minute drive to either Mt. Washington or the town of Gorham. This convenience of being close to both nature and necessary amenities enhances its appeal for local users wanting a nearby escape.

Adding to the natural charm, the campground experiences "no road noise and no light pollution," resulting in very quiet nights with "tons of stars." This makes it an excellent spot for stargazing and enjoying the peacefulness of the wilderness away from the distractions of urban areas.

Barnes Field Group Campground is well-equipped with essential amenities for a comfortable group camping experience. Each campsite features two wooden tables and a fire pit with a fold-over grill top, perfect for cooking and gathering around the campfire. A visitor noted that the camp keepers maintained these facilities cleanly and that toilet paper was consistently stocked during their four-day stay.

Water is available via a pump water station for filling up containers. For waste disposal, the campground provides a bear-proof dumpster, ensuring the safety of campers and the cleanliness of the environment.
