The environment of Benton Beach Campgrounds is described as a "rural setting w/o being in the middle of almost no-where," striking a balance between peaceful countryside and accessibility. The presence of "lots of trees" suggests a shaded and natural ambiance, likely providing a comfortable camping experience, especially during warmer months. While the name might be slightly misleading, one reviewer explicitly noted, "No actual beach to lounge or swim," so campers should not expect traditional beach activities. However, the focus on a rural setting with abundant trees indicates an environment conducive to relaxation, nature walks, and enjoying the outdoors in a more traditional camping sense. The proximity to the Interstate, just "2 1/2 miles away," is a significant environmental factor in terms of accessibility, making it easy to reach the campground from various directions without the noise typically associated with being directly adjacent to a major highway. This blend of rural tranquility and easy access makes Benton Beach Campgrounds an appealing option for both local campers and those passing through the region.
The services at Benton Beach Campgrounds appear to be focused on providing a clean and functional camping experience. The sites are described as "clean" and equipped with "fire rings," essential amenities for enjoying campfires and outdoor cooking. For families, a "large play-scape" is a notable service, offering a dedicated area for children to play and engage in physical activity. Bathroom facilities are available, with reviewers mentioning "clean bathrooms but older" and the presence of "Porta-potties also scattered around camp," suggesting that while the main facilities are well-maintained, additional portable restrooms are provided for convenience across the campground. A key aspect of their service model is that "reservations are online only so no office just a camp host." This implies a streamlined check-in process managed by a camp host who is likely available on-site to assist campers with any immediate needs. The online reservation system provides a convenient way to secure a spot in advance. While specific services like laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, or a camp store are not mentioned, the focus seems to be on providing well-maintained basic amenities and a safe environment.
The features of Benton Beach Campgrounds cater particularly to families and those seeking a peaceful outdoor experience. The "lots of trees" provide shade and enhance the natural beauty of the campground. The clean sites with fire rings encourage traditional camping activities. The large play-scape is a significant feature for families with young children, providing a dedicated space for recreation. The strategic location, offering a rural setting without being too remote and with easy access to the Interstate, is a key feature for convenience. The online-only reservation system is a modern feature that simplifies the booking process. The presence of a camp host ensures on-site assistance for campers. While the absence of a swimming beach might be a drawback for some, the other features suggest a focus on a more traditional camping experience centered around nature, relaxation, and family time. Campground in a rural setting w/o being in the middle of almost no-where. Lots of trees, clean sites w/fire rings and a large play- scape. No actual beach to lounge or swim. Clean bathrooms but older. Porta-potties also scattered around camp. Reservations are online only so no office just a camp host. Only 2 1/2 miles to the Interstate so no noise but access is everywhere. Would book again.
Jul 18, 2024 · Marcia ReedGreat place to visit and enjoy the outdoors!
Feb 24, 2025 · Jeff StenstromAwesome little campground close to St Cloud,MN. Quaint and quiet. Lots of shade trees, and some lots have 50 amp power. Wifi on-site is also excellent. Best I have ever seen in a campground.
Aug 02, 2023 · RWMGreat place, but why oh why did the power/water connections have to be on the opposite side of a back in site? Cords are only so long! Also, why is it extra to dump tank when you paid for sites? I get paying for tank dumps for non registered persons, but wow. Benton County seems to be nickel and diming the users!Otherwise, nice quite place, goods rates (minus tank dump), well kept up. We are here during Covid-19, so I can't say much about the park or shelter as they're closed.
Jun 13, 2020 · Joe Barattain the past ten years this place has really changed for the better. it used to have a reputation as a party place. they have cleaned repaired and maintained everything. now it is busy every weekend. electric sites are $30 a night but you can say a week for only $120.
