Big Lagoon State Park Campground Reviews
Stayed for a week in Dec. The foliage is gorgeous! Just about every site has trees and shrubs making them nicely secluded from neighbor. There were lots of critters to see:several kinds of birds, deer, raccoons, opossums, turtles… The trails and walking bridges were well maintained and we were able to see a lot of wildlife. Bath house was clean with HOT water. Short drive to Perdido Bay beach (a lot of blue jellyfish washed up). Overall a great place I would visit again. Also dog friendly
Jan 14, 2025 · Joella TaubertWe camp using our fifth wheel RV. The sites are large enough for our unit. The park is wonderful with lots of trails, beaches, biking opportunities. There is a small playground for the little ones. The bathrooms are always kept cleanThe park personnel are helpful and very courteous.I only wish they would provide a laundry room as other state parks we have visited.
Nov 20, 2024 · Homero NoboaThis is a huge park with lots to do! 🙌🏻Biking🚴🏻♂️ hiking 🥾 beaches⛱️ birding🦅.There is over 5 mi of trails including about a mile of boardwalks! They have several pavilions for events including a huge one called the Governor's Pavilion, with a huge covered chimney and grill. There's also an amphitheater! 🎭It is not a huge camping area. And there is only one loop which is very busy. Every morning a vehicle goes by every couple of minutes! 😲. The campsites are not very deep so you must disconnect your vehicle. They are isolated from each other which is nice. 😀The bath houses are 🫧 clean and have nice showers.🚿 You would think a campground this small, only 66 sites with hookups, would have only one bath house. But instead they have four! 😲 Including the one in the very back for the group use camping area, which is mostly primitive. The showers🚿 aren't very 🥵 hot, but there's plenty of water pressure! ⛲
Oct 04, 2024 · Michael ScottAfter reading all the nice reviews I packed up my dog to go tent camping. Unfortunately they don't allow dogs because they bark. So it was a wasted trip after driving 2 hours. Never made it to the back to see anything. It's $29 as well. I really think they just didn't want me back there. Lets be clear I'm brown skinned. I would not recommend this place for brown skimmed residents.
Oct 22, 2024 · Charlotte JohnsonConvenient location near shopping, dining and beautiful beaches. Well maintained campground friendly and attentive Rangers. Hot showers with good pressure. Clean bathrooms and private sites. They hand rake each site between occupants. I vacuum our camper 10 times a day and it's still full of sand but those bathrooms almost never have sand in them and are cleaned twice a day! There are nice sand and boardwalk trails out to the water. It's not really a beach but you can get in and wade in the water.
