You can contact them at (715) 501-8172 or +1 715-501-8172 for more information and bookings. Based on the enthusiastic customer reviews, Big Rock Creek offers a distinctive environment and a range of services and features that go beyond typical campgrounds.
The environment of Big Rock Creek seems to be geared towards creating a festive and engaging atmosphere. While the natural landscape isn't extensively described, the presence of "so many fire pits" suggests that communal warmth and the traditional campfire experience are readily available, even during colder weather. This abundance of fire pits could also contribute to a social ambiance within the campground. The mention of "lights" being "beautiful" further indicates that the campground is designed with visual appeal in mind, possibly creating a magical or enchanting setting, especially in the evenings.
One of the standout features of Big Rock Creek is "S’moreland," which was loved by both children and adults. This suggests a dedicated area or experience centered around the classic campfire treat, s'mores, potentially with unique setups or offerings that make it particularly enjoyable. This family-friendly attraction highlights Big Rock Creek's appeal to those camping with kids and grandchildren, aiming to create memorable moments for all ages.
Another unique feature is a "train ride" within the campground. This attraction allows visitors to see aspects of Big Rock Creek that they might miss while walking, offering a different perspective and a leisurely way to explore the grounds. The train ride adds a novel element to the camping experience, providing entertainment and potentially a tour of the facilities or scenic spots within the area.
For those seeking convenience, Big Rock Creek offers "VIP parking." According to a reviewer who used this service, it is highly recommended for anyone needing to park close to the "festivities," saving them from excessive walking. This suggests that Big Rock Creek may host events or have key areas of activity that are more easily accessible with VIP parking, catering to guests who prioritize proximity and convenience.
One group of six who stayed at Big Rock Creek "splurged on a tent" and found it to be an excellent decision. The rented tent was described as "warm, spacious, clean, and in a great location." This indicates that Big Rock Creek offers tent rentals as a service, potentially providing a hassle-free camping option where guests don't need to bring their own shelter. The positive feedback on the quality and location of the rented tents suggests that this is a well-managed service.
The service provided at Big Rock Creek is consistently praised. The same group who rented a tent mentioned that the "service was fantastic," with servers coming around "about every half hour to see if we needed anything." This level of attentive service is unusual for a typical campground and suggests a more hospitality-focused approach at Big Rock Creek, where staff actively engage with guests to ensure their comfort and needs are met. This could extend to offering food and beverage services directly to the campsites.
The presence of "fireworks" is also mentioned as a fantastic aspect of the experience. This suggests that Big Rock Creek may host firework displays, possibly as part of special events or regular weekend entertainment, adding to the magical and memorable atmosphere. This kind of amenity is a significant draw and elevates the camping experience beyond basic outdoor lodging.
The overall sentiment from the reviews is overwhelmingly positive, with multiple recommendations to visit. One reviewer specifically mentioned "Miracle at Big Rock," suggesting that this might be a special event or theme that the campground hosts, further adding to its unique appeal. Local users interested in themed experiences or special events should inquire about the "Miracle at Big Rock" when contacting the campground.
While the reviews provide glowing feedback on the unique aspects and services, they do not offer extensive details on traditional campground amenities such as restroom facilities, water sources, or specific campsite types beyond the rented tents. However, the focus on creating a "magical" experience and providing attentive service implies that essential facilities are likely well-maintained and contribute to the overall guest satisfaction. The abundance of fire pits suggests that campfires are encouraged and facilitated.
Given the emphasis on special features like S’moreland, the train ride, VIP parking, tent rentals, attentive service, and fireworks, Big Rock Creek seems to position itself as more than just a place to pitch a tent. It appears to be an entertainment-focused camping destination suitable for families and those looking for a unique and memorable outdoor experience close to home. The "Miracle at Big Rock" event further suggests that the campground may have seasonal themes or special attractions that draw visitors.
For local users searching for "camping near me" with a twist, Big Rock Creek in St Croix Falls, WI, offers a compelling option. The positive reviews highlight a magical environment, engaging features like S’moreland and a train ride, convenient services such as VIP parking and tent rentals, and exceptional guest service. To get detailed information on campsite availability, traditional amenities, pricing for tent rentals and VIP parking, schedules for the train ride and fireworks, and details about the "Miracle at Big Rock" event, local users are strongly encouraged to contact Big Rock Creek directly at the provided phone numbers. Nov 30, 2024 · Linda PodgorskiMiracle did a fantastic job. It was a cold night so we appreciated the abundance of bonfires to warm our hands (cold from taking our gloves off to take pictures). Beautiful lights. We especially enjoyed the fireworks and were surprised at how big they were.
