For inquiries or to gather more information, you can reach them at (541) 278-3716 or their mobile number, +1 541-278-3716.
Big Springs Campground is situated in a beautiful natural environment, offering a respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life. While specific details about the landscape, such as the types of trees, nearby water bodies (besides the well faucet mentioned in reviews), or hiking trails directly accessible from the campground are not explicitly available online, the positive comments regarding its beauty suggest a pleasant setting for outdoor enthusiasts. The location in Washington state hints at the potential for lush greenery and a generally picturesque environment.
Based on the limited information and customer reviews, the services and features of Big Springs Campground include:
- Camp Spots: It's important to note that reviews indicate the camp spots are quite close together, offering a more communal camping experience where you'll likely have neighbors. If you prefer secluded camping, this might not be the ideal choice.
- Water Source: A significant positive mentioned by a reviewer is the presence of a "nice well faucet," which can be valuable for campers, especially those spending extended time in the surrounding mountains and needing a reliable water source for rinsing or other needs.
- Covered Picnic Area: The campground boasts an "awesome covered picnic area." This feature can significantly enhance the camping experience, providing a sheltered space for cooking, eating, and socializing, regardless of the weather conditions.
- Bathroom Facilities: Customer feedback highlights a significant area for improvement regarding the bathroom. Reviews mention it being "AWFUL," lacking toilet paper, and being covered in garbage. This suggests that the upkeep and cleanliness of the restroom facilities may be inconsistent or in need of better management.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Big Springs Campground online. It would be best to contact them directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about any ongoing offers, seasonal rates, or special packages that might be available.
Considering the available information, Big Springs Campground appears to be a location with both appealing aspects and areas that could benefit from attention. The beautiful natural setting and the presence of a covered picnic area and a water faucet are definite positives. These features can contribute to a comfortable and convenient camping experience, providing essential amenities for outdoor living.
However, the proximity of the campsites and the reported condition of the bathroom facilities are important factors to consider. If you value privacy and space between campsites, or if clean and well-maintained restrooms are a priority for you, you might need to weigh these concerns against the campground's positive attributes. The review mentioning the close proximity of neighbors suggests a potentially social atmosphere, which could be appealing to some campers but less so for those seeking solitude.
The comment about Big Springs being a "Good place to get water when you spend a week up in the mountains" implies that the campground might serve as a valuable resource for those exploring the surrounding wilderness areas. This suggests a location that could be convenient for hikers, backpackers, and other outdoor adventurers in the region who need a reliable water source or a temporary base.
The remark "Delicious and no yella fever" is intriguing but lacks context. It's unclear what "delicious" refers to – it could be the water from the well, something else available at the campground, or even a humorous aside. "No yella fever" likely refers to the absence of jaundice or any waterborne illness, perhaps reassuring about the water quality, despite the negative comments about the bathroom cleanliness.
In conclusion, Big Springs Campground offers a potentially enjoyable camping experience in a beautiful setting near Pomeroy, Washington. The covered picnic area and the availability of a water faucet are notable advantages. However, prospective visitors should be aware of the close proximity of campsites and the reported issues with the bathroom facilities. It is recommended to contact the campground directly for the most up-to-date information on services, conditions, and any potential improvements. When searching for "camping near me," Big Springs Campground presents itself as an option with a mix of positive natural features and areas where attention to maintenance and space allocation could enhance the overall visitor experience. Consider your personal preferences for campsite privacy and bathroom standards when deciding if Big Springs Campground is the right choice for your next outdoor adventure.

Jul 01, 2022 · Tim JasmineCamp spots are very close together. And the bathroom there was AWFUL. Out of toilet paper and covered in garbage. Has an awesome covered picnic area and a nice well faucet to rinse off. Would be really nice if it was cared for better.
Aug 16, 2019 · Katie GustafsonLoved loved loved it! Natural water spring you can drink from and refill water jugs, restroom, plenty of room for RVs, tent pads, man-made rock firepits/cooktops, smaller loop so be careful how big something is before you drive around
Aug 15, 2018 · Danielle Bortzthis is a very pretty area with a really good spring water source running everyone comes and gets their water, how ever, every memorial weekend and im sure on other holidays the forest service does not come and check on the bathroom to resupply it and does not come and check to see if someone is saving spots it is first come first serve and it leaves large families with trailers having to crowd together, there was one guy there this memorial weekend that planted tents down where trailers should have instead of putting them in the tented areas
