Bogia Boat Ramp Introduce
For those local adventurers seeking a distinctly different "camping near me" experience, the Bogia Boat Ramp in McDavid, Florida, presents a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a real Florida swamp environment. Located at E Bogia Rd, McDavid, FL 32568, USA, this location offers a very basic and rustic camping experience for those who are prepared for minimal amenities and a raw natural setting. It's important to understand that based on available information, this is not a traditional, well-maintained campground but rather a very rudimentary site that offers a glimpse into the natural Florida landscape.
The environment at Bogia Boat Ramp is described as a "REAL florida swamp experience." This suggests a natural, potentially humid, and possibly wild setting. Expect the sights and sounds of a typical Florida swamp, which may include unique flora and fauna. For those seeking a genuine connection with this type of ecosystem, Bogia Boat Ramp could offer an interesting, albeit basic, outdoor adventure. However, it's crucial to be prepared for the conditions typically associated with swamp environments, such as insects and potentially challenging terrain in certain areas.
Based on the available review, the services and features at Bogia Boat Ramp are extremely limited. It appears there are only two designated camping/picnic spots. One of these spots is described as having basic amenities, including:
- In-ground grills: Providing a means for cooking over an open flame.
- A picnic table: Offering a surface for eating and other activities.
- A trash can: Allowing for responsible waste disposal.
The second camping/picnic spot is even more basic, described as "just a cleared out area behind some traffic posts." This suggests a very undeveloped space with no additional amenities. Furthermore, the review mentions the presence of a "porta potty," indicating that this is the only provided restroom facility. It is important for anyone considering camping here to be fully self-sufficient and prepared for very limited infrastructure.
The review also notes that the location is "not well maintained." This reinforces the idea of a very rustic and natural setting where regular upkeep may not be a priority. Potential visitors should be aware of this and come prepared for potentially uneven ground, natural debris, and the general conditions of an unmanaged outdoor area.
The name "Bogia Boat Ramp" suggests its primary purpose is to provide access to the water. The reviewer clarifies that the "boat ramp" is technically for walking down small watercraft. This implies that while you might be able to access the water, launching larger boats may not be feasible. This could be a point of interest for those with kayaks, canoes, or other small, hand-carried watercraft who are looking to explore the waterways of the swamp.
Given the limited information, there are no specific features highlighted beyond the basic amenities at one of the two spots and the access to the water for small craft. The unique feature of Bogia Boat Ramp is arguably the raw and authentic Florida swamp environment itself, offering a stark contrast to more developed campgrounds. For those seeking a truly immersive and unadulterated natural experience, this could be a draw. However, it is essential to have realistic expectations regarding the level of comfort and available facilities.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for Bogia Boat Ramp. Given its very basic nature and apparent lack of formal management or development, it is unlikely to have traditional promotions or discounts. This location seems to cater to those specifically seeking a very rudimentary and natural camping experience rather than those looking for organized campground amenities.
In conclusion, Bogia Boat Ramp offers a very different kind of "camping near me" in McDavid, Florida. It provides access to a real Florida swamp environment with extremely limited amenities, including only two basic camping/picnic spots (one with a grill, picnic table, and trash can, the other just a cleared area) and a porta potty. The location is described as not well maintained, emphasizing its rustic nature. The "boat ramp" is suitable for walking down small watercraft. This is not a typical campground experience but rather an opportunity for a truly basic and immersive encounter with the Florida swamp. Potential visitors should be well-prepared for a lack of facilities and the natural challenges of a swamp environment. If you are seeking a raw and unadulterated connection with nature and are comfortable with minimal amenities, Bogia Boat Ramp might offer a unique, albeit unconventional, camping experience.

Bogia Boat Ramp Reviews
There is only two camping/picnic spots. One has those post in the ground grills, a picnic table and a trash can. The other spot is just a cleared out area behind some traffic posts. It's not well maintained but it's a REAL florida swamp experience if you happen to stumble upon it. There is a porta potty. I live on East Bogia RD and I added this spot to maps so it wouldn't be forgotten. Also, the bogia boat ramp is what I've always known it as. The "boat ramp" is technically for walking down small water crafts but I'm not the police, you make your own decisions. I'll take some pictures and add them here whenever I can.
