The environment of Cabin O' Pines Resort & Campground is undoubtedly one of its most significant assets. Situated directly on the shores of Pelican Lake in Northern Minnesota, it offers stunning lake views and easy access to the water. Pelican Lake itself is likely a significant feature, providing opportunities for various water-based activities such as boating, fishing, swimming, and simply enjoying the serene beauty of a northern Minnesota lake. The presence of mature trees and a well-maintained landscape, as suggested by a long-term seasonal camper, contributes to a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The "fresh air" and the "quiet, slower pace" mentioned in the reviews highlight the tranquil environment that guests can expect.
While the name includes "Campground," the reviews heavily emphasize the resort aspect and its appeal for seasonal RV camping. One long-time visitor, who has been coming since the 1980s and is now a seasonal camper, specifically praises it as "perfect for seasonal camping in Northern Minnesota." This suggests that a significant portion of their offering caters to individuals who wish to leave their campers on-site seasonally, creating a home away from home with the convenience of lake access. The mention of setting up a "screen porch" further indicates the long-term and comfortable setups that seasonal campers establish.
A key feature of Cabin O' Pines is its strong sense of tradition and family ownership. One reviewer, whose family has traveled 750 miles for 45 years to vacation there, highlights the fact that they have witnessed three generations of family ownership and that four generations of their own family have vacationed at the resort. This speaks volumes about the consistent quality of service, the welcoming atmosphere, and the enduring appeal of Cabin O' Pines as a family destination. The description of the owners as "an embodiment of family" suggests a warm and hospitable environment where guests are made to feel welcome and valued.
The "Saw-loon on Wednesday nights" mentioned by the seasonal camper hints at social activities or a gathering place within the resort, fostering a sense of community among the guests. This adds another layer to the experience beyond just the natural environment and camping facilities, suggesting a welcoming and social atmosphere where long-term guests can connect.
For local users searching for "camping near me," Cabin O' Pines Resort & Campground offers a unique blend of a peaceful lakeside environment and a strong sense of community and tradition. Considering the "camping near me" category and the potential for related services or goods for sale, a resort and campground like Cabin O' Pines likely offers a range of amenities beyond just basic campsites. These could include boat rentals (given the lake access), a small store for essentials, perhaps a common area or lodge, and potentially organized activities or events, as hinted at by the "Saw-loon" gathering. For seasonal campers, they might offer services related to maintaining their RV sites, such as water and septic hookups, and possibly winter storage. Local businesses in Orr, MN, would also benefit from visitors to Cabin O' Pines, including grocery stores, bait and tackle shops, and other tourism-related services.
The strong endorsements from long-term visitors serve as powerful promotional information. The fact that families have been returning for generations and that a retiree has chosen it as their seasonal camping spot speaks volumes about the quality and appeal of Cabin O' Pines. The emphasis on a "peaceful, well-maintained space," "lake access," and a "welcoming atmosphere" are key selling points highlighted by actual customers. The longevity of their patronage suggests a consistent and positive experience over many years.
In conclusion, Cabin O' Pines Resort & Campground offers a unique and highly regarded "camping near me" experience in Orr, Minnesota, particularly for those interested in seasonal RV camping on beautiful Pelican Lake. Its well-maintained environment, direct lake access, strong sense of tradition and family ownership, and welcoming atmosphere, as attested by decades of loyal visitors, make it a standout destination in Northern Minnesota. Cabin O' Pines Resort & Campground Reviews
I’ve been coming to Cabin O’ Pines since the 1980s, when my family stayed in the cabins for our summer vacations. Now, in my retirement, I’m a seasonal camper here, and I couldn’t have picked a better place. This resort is perfect for seasonal camping in Northern Minnesota, offering a peaceful, well-maintained space right on beautiful Pelican Lake. I leave my camper here seasonally, with a screen porch setup that’s perfect for relaxing and enjoying the fresh air. I love the quiet, the slower pace, and the sense of tradition that comes with spending summers here. And you’ll always find me down at the Saw-loon on Wednesday nights! If you’re looking for a seasonal RV site with lake access and a welcoming atmosphere, Cabin O’ Pines is the place to be.
Mar 04, 2025 · Beverly BergerFor 45 years our family have traveled 750 miles to Cabin O Pines resort for our family vacation. We have witnessed 3 generations of family ownership. And 4 of our family generations have vacationed there. They are an embodiment of family.
Mar 06, 2025 · Tom WebsterWe stayed in the "Norway Pine" cabin for two nights at the end of their season, and the views of Pelican Lake were breathtaking.I have been to several local resorts around Pelican Lake with "the boys" and when deciding where to take my wife to introduce her to fishing and northern Minnesota, it wasn't a very difficult choice. If you're into fishing, and you want a family-friendly experience that is accessible to anyone and everyone, I can't recommend it enough. We had a long drive to get there, so we ended up only renting a boat for one of the days, and as an avid fisherman, I was able to catch some really nice fish just off their docks. The fishing on Pelican lake is really that good.It always surprises me that more people haven't heard of this lake, or been to this resort. It's truly one of Minnesota's last remaining hidden gems. We'll be back!
Oct 01, 2024 · Vince and DiThis is by far the cleanest, most family friendly and well run resort I have ever stayed at! Wherever you go there is something for your kiddos to enjoy and always a friendly staff member flitting around making sure everything is just perfect. The cabins and all the buildings are so well kept and our beds were great! We even had Apple TV for the kids when it rained one afternoon! We rented a pontoon and the whole process was really seemless.
Jul 14, 2024 · Stephenie WebberWorth the drive to enjoy the serene lake, friendly atmosphere and attention to detail and service. Meticulously clean, well maintained - even the beach is daily raked. Did I mention friendliness? You feel like family here, including friendly other campers - bring a kid and they'll find a friend to run the playground with. But plenty of room for privacy, too, and even a romantic, traditional Scandinavian sauna. The new beach firepit and benches offer an amazing sunset experience. And the fishing is always great.
