Canyon Creek Resort Introduce
Welcome to Canyon Creek Resort, a comprehensive camping destination located at 22074 CA-128, Winters, CA 95694, USA. Positioned strategically near the scenic Putah Creek, and with easy access to Lake Berryessa and the renowned Napa Wine Country, Canyon Creek Resort offers a diverse range of accommodations and activities for both members and, as recently announced, the general public. Whether you're searching for "Camping Near Me" for a quick getaway or a longer retreat, Canyon Creek Resort aims to provide a memorable outdoor experience.
Environment: A Picturesque Setting with Varied Terrain
Canyon Creek Resort spans approximately 30 acres, nestled in a rural area that provides a tranquil escape. The resort is situated on the banks of Putah Creek, a body of water known for its excellent trout fishing, particularly as it's directly downstream from a fish drop-off point where the creek is reportedly replenished weekly during fishing season. While the creek offers a visual pleasure, it's noted for a fast current, making it primarily for viewing and fishing rather than swimming directly within the resort's immediate vicinity. The overall appeal and environmental quality of the resort are rated highly by some, with staff members David and Jacob credited for maintaining the grounds. However, other reviews mention that some areas, such as the roads and certain sites, are gravel, and a lack of general maintenance in specific areas, such as spider webs on picnic tables and the clubhouse, has been noted. The RV sites are described as being in close proximity to neighbors. Despite some areas needing attention, the resort generally boasts a natural setting with opportunities for enjoying the outdoors, including walking paths and proximity to larger natural attractions.
Services and Amenities: A Mix of Convenience and Recreation
Canyon Creek Resort offers a variety of services and amenities designed to cater to different types of campers and guests. For those looking for "Camping Near Me" with essential facilities, the resort provides restrooms with hot showers and laundry facilities. The front desk operates during limited hours, typically from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and a quick check-in process is handled by Elaine. For booking initial stays, Leah is available to assist with 1-3 day reservations. The resort is equipped with two clubhouses and two swimming pools, including a seasonal outdoor pool open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and a children's pool. A hot tub is also available for relaxation. Some reviews praise the pool as being "nice and clean for the kids."
Dining options include the Creekside Cafe, which is highly recommended for its food, beer, wine, and "World's Best BBQ." There's also a coffee shop/cafe and a snack bar/deli for quick bites. Other amenities include picnic areas with gas grills, an outdoor entertainment area, and a firepit. For RV campers, the resort offers 115 spacious RV sites, many with full hookups (electric, water, and sewer dump station available within the park). These sites can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet plus a towing vehicle, and some are large enough to also accommodate a 2-person tent. WiFi access is available throughout the campground, though some sources indicate it may incur an additional fee.
Features: Diverse Accommodation and Activities
Canyon Creek Resort distinguishes itself with a range of accommodation types beyond standard RV sites, making it a flexible option for "Camping Near Me." In addition to the RV sites, guests can choose from comfortable cabins, fully furnished cottages, and unique glamping yurts. The yurts are designed to sleep four and feature a private bedroom, private bathroom, living, dining, and kitchen areas. The cottages and cabins are self-contained and stocked with essentials, sleeping four to six guests.
Activities available on-site cater to various interests. For recreation, there's a playground for children, bocce ball, volleyball, and planned group activities like bingo, barbecues, themed weekends, and karaoke. Fishing is a popular activity, with direct access to Putah Creek. While some information suggests an archery range and a game room, one review indicates the arcade games are old and mostly non-functional. The resort also boasts nature paths for hiking. For those looking to explore the surrounding area, the resort's location provides easy access to Lake Berryessa for various water sports like fishing, sailing, and water-skiing, as well as proximity to Napa Wine Country for winery tours. Nearby attractions include Vacaville Premium Outlets, University of California, Davis, and Cache Creek Casino Resort.
Membership and Promotional Information: A Key Aspect of the Resort
Canyon Creek Resort has historically operated as a private membership resort, but they are now open to the public. For those interested in understanding the benefits of membership versus public access, Hillary can arrange a Discovery Tour and guide potential guests through the options. Lucy serves as the point of contact in member services, and Val, a vacation specialist with 20-30 years of experience, can assist with travel planning from camping to cruises, and also has knowledge of local businesses for entertainment and food and wine. Promotional information suggests a free 2-night/3-day reservation to experience the resort before committing to a membership.
However, it is important to note that some customer reviews express caution regarding the membership sales process. One review explicitly states that sales people "will 100% mislead you" and that several members felt "ripped off," citing a family package price of $12,000. This review also mentioned that the promised activities director was never seen by members. Potential guests are advised to talk to existing members before listening to sales pitches. While membership may offer advantages, it is prudent to conduct thorough research and gather information from various sources to make an informed decision.
In summary, Canyon Creek Resort offers a diverse camping experience with a range of accommodations and amenities, set against a natural backdrop near Putah Creek. While many aspects of the resort are positively reviewed, particularly the cleanliness of the pools and the dedication of staff in maintaining the expansive grounds, prospective visitors, especially those considering membership, should be mindful of past customer experiences related to the sales process and the upkeep of certain facilities.

Mar 20, 2025 · LABefore I get into it, I will say the pool is nice and clean for the kids. This has to be the worst campsite I have been to. We did the free 2 night stay before sitting down about the membership. the sales people will 100% mislead you. I spoke with several members there who felt ripped off. They wanted 12,000 dollars for the “family package”. They tell you there’s an activities director who just happens to be off during your stay, the members tell me they’ve never seen one. The arcade is old and only 2/5 games work, the coin prizes are out and never restocked. The sites are all gravel and slide outs with within 5 feet of your neighbors. There’s zero maintenance. Sprinklers don’t come on, 30amp poles are falling over. Picnic tables and majority of the club house is covered in spider webs. The guy that comes to empty your Rv tanks was 2 hours late and hungover. They tell you they have sites with full hookups, you won’t get one unless you want to be right along the highway. The roads are one way and narrow, if you get there and people are in line to empty their tanks, be prepared to wait a long time before you can even get by. If someone is backing their trailer, be prepared to wait a long time because you’ll have to wait until they’re fully unhooked before you can get by due to the narrow lanes. The creek is nothing more than a visual pleasure. Current is very fast.If you do the 2 night stay, talk to the members before listening to the scam sales peoples.
Jun 30, 2024 · Anthony ZHave been renting their Canyon Creek Resort Cabin C14 for the past four years. Ever since I bought in I was told the cabins were going to be redone. My visit June 27th to the 39th was Awful. The Key broke I. the lock, the air conditioner wouldn't stay cool nor on. Breaker had to be reset several times. All the other tenants were complaining as well. Temperatures were over 100 each day. Shower still leaks and toilet still doesn't flush well. Porches have spaces and need to be replaced. What are we paying monthly dues for?
Oct 02, 2024 · Cathy Scoggin4/7/25 Monday what a quite and peaceful location, I just loved it.
Apr 12, 2025 · Danny ACabins are a bit small. However, most of then are close to the water 😊 The other campers are usually fantastic as well as staff. They always have some sort of event going on which are Super Fun with music & dancing. Over all, I would definitely try it out. I Promise you won't regret it.
