Cedar Falls Campground Introduce
For local adventurers seeking a tranquil "camping near me" experience, Cedar Falls Campground in Hazelhurst, Wisconsin, offers a delightful escape nestled right along the river. Located at 6051 Cedar Falls Rd, this campground presents a blend of natural beauty and well-maintained amenities, making it an attractive option for both tent and RV campers in the area.
The environment at Cedar Falls Campground is a significant highlight, with its prime location "right on the river." Imagine waking up to the gentle sounds of flowing water and enjoying picturesque riverside views directly from your campsite. One enthusiastic reviewer even mentioned having "the sound of waterfalls and the best view right outside our campsite," suggesting that some sites offer particularly scenic and auditory delights. This proximity to the river enhances the camping experience, providing opportunities for relaxation and enjoying the natural surroundings.
In terms of services, Cedar Falls Campground appears to prioritize cleanliness and convenience. Multiple reviews commend the "extremely clean restrooms/showers," which is always a welcome feature for campers. Additionally, the presence of a "laundry" facility adds a significant level of convenience, especially for longer stays or those who appreciate having clean clothes. The campground also provides a "dump station with cleanout," an essential service for RV owners. For those who enjoy fishing, a "fish cleaning hut" is available, catering to anglers who wish to prepare their catch on-site.
While Cedar Falls Campground offers essential amenities, it's important to note some limitations. Electrical service is primarily "30amp service," which might be a consideration for RVs with higher power demands. Furthermore, the campground has "quite a few sites without power for tent camps," so tent campers should be prepared for dry camping or inquire about powered sites if needed. In terms of connectivity, the campground reports "no WiFi and low cellular service," although one reviewer suspected the latter might be specific to their carrier ("consumer cellular"). It's advisable to be prepared for limited digital connectivity, which, as one reviewer aptly noted, might align with the desire to disconnect and immerse oneself in nature. Interestingly, the presence of satellite dishes among some seasonal campers suggests that long-term residents have found ways to access television if desired.
Cedar Falls Campground is also described as "very dog friendly." Pets are allowed on leashes, and while "small pet fencing is prohibited," the overall welcoming attitude towards four-legged companions makes it an attractive option for pet owners looking for "camping near me." The positive experience of one reviewer who "made many two and four-legged new friends" underscores the friendly atmosphere of the campground.
For added convenience, Cedar Falls Campground offers on-site sales of "bags of ice and firewood." This eliminates the need to travel off-site for these essential camping supplies, allowing campers to settle in and enjoy their stay more easily. The availability of friendly and helpful "camp hosts," as mentioned by a first-time RV camper who found the campground "amazing" and "the perfect place," further enhances the positive experience. Their helpfulness can be particularly valuable for those new to camping or the area.
The positive reviews consistently highlight the cleanliness of the facilities and the overall maintenance of the campground. The combination of a beautiful riverside location, clean and functional amenities, and a pet-friendly policy makes Cedar Falls Campground a compelling choice for local campers. The sound of waterfalls adds a unique and soothing element to the environment, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere.
While the limited electrical service and lack of WiFi might be drawbacks for some, they could also be seen as opportunities to disconnect and fully embrace the natural setting. The availability of laundry facilities is a significant plus for extended stays, and the fish cleaning hut caters to a specific interest group. The on-site purchase of ice and firewood adds to the convenience factor.
Considering the positive feedback regarding the friendly camp hosts and the welcoming atmosphere, Cedar Falls Campground seems to foster a sense of community among its visitors. The willingness of campers to return, as expressed by the first-time RV camper, speaks volumes about the positive experience offered.
In conclusion, Cedar Falls Campground provides a very nice camping experience along the river in Hazelhurst, WI. Its key features include a picturesque riverside setting with the potential for waterfall views, extremely clean restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities, a pet-friendly environment, and helpful camp hosts. While it offers 30amp electrical service and some non-powered tent sites, and has limited cellular service and no WiFi, the overall ambiance and amenities cater well to those seeking a peaceful and well-maintained natural retreat. Cedar Falls Campground Reviews
Very nice campground. Right on the river. Only 30amp service and quite a few sites without power for tent camps. Has extremely clean restrooms/ showers and laundry. Dump station with cleanout. Fish cleaning hut. No WiFi and low cellular service ( that could simply be that we have consumer cellular). Not much for the TV but then again aren't we there to camp. Several of the seasonal folks use a dish for their news and such. Pets are allowed on leashes and small pet fencing is prohibited. Bags of ice and firewood can be purchased on site..
Jul 19, 2024 · Tim StephanThe campground was amazing! This was our first weekend camping in an RV, and Cedar Falls was the perfect place. The camp hosts were friendly and very helpful, the showers and bathrooms were extremely clean and well maintained, as was the entire campground. We had the sound of waterfalls and the best view right outside our campsite. Also very dog friendly. We made many two and four-legged new friends. We will definitely be back!
Oct 03, 2022 · Jennifer StankowskiGreat campgrounds. Very clean and upgrade to day shower and bathrooms.Highly recommended!
Sep 25, 2024 · Kevin HoehnThe most fun you'll ever have, in CF!
Mar 25, 2025 · Josh E.Very clean! Best campground showers and restrooms we have ever seen! They even have a laundry room! The "premium electric waterfront" sites are not really waterfront. They are close to the river, but there is no line of sight, and the trails down to the water do have poison ivy. The best looking sites are further down the river, but don't have electric. There is a fresh water hose, but there is no water hookup at the sites.
