We spent a week here and had an amazing time. Very close to some great hikes and gorgeous views! Only a short jaunt to Robbinsville where they have a grocery store for supplies. If you stay here spots 14-17 are the prime spots ,for sure, and would be well worth the walk in to those tent sites. The camp host was very nice and made us feel welcome. If we ever get back to NC we will definitely stay here again! - Annie Boevree

Robbinsville itself is a short drive away, offering the practicality of a grocery store for stocking up on supplies, making it a convenient location that balances natural immersion with access to necessities. While the specific natural features aren't detailed, the proximity to great hikes and views suggests a mountainous and potentially forested setting, typical of the region in western North Carolina.

In terms of services, the reviews offer some insights. One camper praised the camp host as "very nice" and noted that they were made to feel welcome, suggesting a positive and hospitable atmosphere managed by the campground staff. The presence of designated campsites is evident, with specific recommendations given for tent sites 14-17, which are described as "prime spots" and "well worth the walk in to those tent sites." This implies that these particular sites might offer superior views, more space, or a more secluded experience compared to others within the campground. The mention of a "walk in" for these prime tent sites suggests they might be slightly removed from parking areas, catering to those who prefer a bit more separation and tranquility.

Features of Cheoah Point Campground appear to cater to a variety of outdoor interests. The strong emphasis on proximity to "great hikes" will appeal to trekkers and nature lovers. The mention of "gorgeous views" suggests that the campground or its surrounding area offers scenic vistas, likely of the mountains or perhaps nearby Lake Santeetlah, given the general location of Robbinsville. For those traveling with recreational vehicles, one reviewer noted "tight quarters with a 35 foot fifth wheel," indicating that while RVs can be accommodated, space might be somewhat limited, particularly for larger rigs. This camper also pointed out that the sites felt more like "buddy sites," with neighbors being only a few feet away, which is something to consider for those prioritizing privacy within the campground itself.

Interestingly, the same reviewer who mentioned the tighter RV spaces also highlighted the campground's appeal for motorcycle riders, stating, "we're here for the Motorcycle rides and hikes!" This suggests that Cheoah Point Campground is a popular choice for those exploring the scenic roads and trails of the region on two wheels. The area around Robbinsville is renowned for its winding mountain roads, making it a haven for motorcycle enthusiasts.
