Coal Camp Lodging Reviews
We visited for the first time in April 2025 with a group of five. We were pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness of the cabins. Upstairs and downstairs bedrooms, with space to spare. Everything was super clean and decorated really cute. The kitchen is equipped with basic cookware to get you through your stay, and the owners provide you with all the toiletries needed. Bedding was very basic, but clean. Owners were fabulous to work with and very friendly. Great place to stay after a long day on the trails. We will definitely stay again as this was within close distance to many trail heads, both by road and trailer drive to venture further.
Apr 17, 2025 · Ronda ScottDrove 12 hours down from Canada to ride the Hatfield Mccoy trails and happy we booked a cabin here as it was great! Super clean and spacious. Bed was comfy and lots of towels and everything needed for the kitchen (even some coffee too!)
Apr 14, 2025 · Pearl BlackJust got back from a 3 night/4 day trip to Matewan and we were very pleased with the location and lodging. Louise was highly regarded amongst all the interactions we had throughout town and neighbouring towns. Highly recommend, the best place we’ve stayed at in the past 3 years of riding there. Look forward to staying there next year!
Apr 09, 2025 · David KowalykPerfect in every way! The cabin was super clean and nicely decorated. If you subscribe to the "happy wife, happy life" theory then this is the place. Location is near groceries, gas, and trails PLUS it's quiet. Plenty of parking for trucks and trailers. Linens, towels, coffee, propane, fire wood, kitchenware were all included.
Nov 03, 2024 · David ChambersWe have stayed at multiple places to ride the trails before we found coal camp. Louise is amazing and the property is perfect. The cabins are new, clean, they have lots hot water, and comfortable beds. Honestly they are underpriced so don’t tell to many people. The hots tubs are wonderful to relax, oh and great WiFi for catching up on work after a long day on the trails. They are always booked for a reason. Highly RECOMMENDED! Thanks Louise and Daniel for creating a lovely riders retreat! About 7 minutes to Devis Anse trailhead and 14 to buffalo mountain. Great spot too for us single track lovers!
