Dale Hollow Dam Campground Introduce
For local users seeking a "camping near me" experience in a picturesque riverside setting with ample space for RVs, Dale Hollow Dam Campground, located at 200 Campground Rd, Celina, TN 38551, USA, offers a compelling option. Situated along the river near Dale Hollow Lake, this campground boasts well-kept grounds, water access, and nearby trails, making it a popular choice for both RV and tent campers. While some facilities may be a bit dated and occasional noise from a nearby fish hatchery might be present, the overall positive experiences shared by visitors suggest a worthwhile camping destination in Tennessee.
The environment of Dale Hollow Dam Campground is frequently highlighted for its scenic beauty, particularly its setting on the river. Campers can enjoy the tranquil ambiance of the flowing water, which likely provides opportunities for relaxation and enjoying nature. The proximity to Dale Hollow Lake further enhances the appeal, offering access to a renowned recreational area known for its clear waters and various water activities. The "tons of water options" mentioned by one reviewer likely include swimming, boating, and fishing opportunities on the lake, making this campground a great base for aquatic adventures.
One of the practical advantages of Dale Hollow Dam Campground is the availability of spacious campsites, with "plenty of room for larger rigs on most sites." This is particularly beneficial for RV travelers with larger vehicles, ensuring they can comfortably maneuver and set up their campsites without feeling cramped. The level of accommodation for larger RVs is a significant factor for many seeking "camping near me" with recreational vehicles.
The campground is generally well-maintained, with one reviewer stating that "The camp ground was very well kept and clean." This indicates a commitment to providing a pleasant and hygienic environment for campers. Cleanliness is a crucial aspect of any campground, contributing significantly to the overall comfort and satisfaction of visitors.
For pet owners, Dale Hollow Dam Campground appears to be a welcoming destination. One reviewer mentioned that even with a lot of rain, their dogs enjoyed the standing water puddles. Furthermore, they noted that their dogs enjoyed swimming at the boat dock when the dam was not generating power. This suggests that the campground is pet-friendly and offers some opportunities for dogs to enjoy the water, which is a significant plus for those traveling with furry companions.
While the overall experience seems positive, some aspects of the campground have received mixed feedback. One reviewer noted that "The bathhouses are a little out dated but functional." This suggests that while the restroom facilities are usable, they may not be the most modern. However, the fact that they are functional indicates that basic hygiene needs are met.
Another point to be aware of is potential noise from the nearby fish hatchery. One reviewer mentioned "often noise from the fish hatchery pumps," although they were unsure if this was a common occurrence. While the reviewer noted that the hatchery's water supply is gravity-fed, the pumps may operate periodically, which could be a consideration for those particularly sensitive to noise during their camping stay.
For those who enjoy outdoor activities beyond water-based ones, the proximity to trails is a notable feature. One reviewer mentioned "Some good trails close by," suggesting that hikers and nature enthusiasts will find opportunities for exploration in the vicinity of the campground. However, another reviewer expressed a desire for "more walking trails" within the campground itself, indicating that while nearby trails exist, on-site options might be limited.
A practical tip for visitors, particularly those planning to depart on a Sunday, is to be aware of potential lines at the dump station. One reviewer observed a "long line of RVs leave on Sunday waiting for the dump station" and advised against leaving on Sunday if possible. This suggests that the dump station might experience high traffic at the end of the weekend, which could lead to delays for RV campers.

The campground is generally well-kept and clean, and it is pet-friendly with water access for dogs. While the bathhouses might be a bit outdated and occasional noise from a nearby fish hatchery could occur, the overall positive feedback, proximity to Dale Hollow Lake, and nearby trails make it an attractive "camping near me" option. However, potential visitors should be mindful of potential Sunday dump station congestion and the limited number of on-site walking trails. For more detailed information about amenities, pricing, and reservations, contacting the campground directly is recommended.

Dale Hollow Dam Campground Reviews
This a very nice campground with plenty of room for larger rigs on most sites. The bathhouses are a little out dated but functional. The setting on the river is nice. There was often noise from the fish hatchery pumps but I don't know if this is common since the hatchery water supply is gravity. It would be great to see more walking trails.
Jun 01, 2024 · Steven BellThe camp ground was very well kept and clean. It Rained a lot while we stayed so if you have dogs just be ready for some standing water puddles ours loved it. LoL. Overall I bet we will be back. We watched the long line of RVs leave on Sunday waiting for the dump station. I don't recommend leaving on Sunday if you can help it. Some good trails close by. And tons of water options. Our dogs enjoyed swimming at the boat dock while the dam was not generating.
May 09, 2024 · Crystal HakeVery clean, well maintained, and quiet. It is a great campground, and hosts are super! Corp of Engineers, take note: There needs to be a second dump station added. Took over an hour of waiting in line on a Sunday. This is the ~only~ reason for 4 stars.
