Lillydale Campground Introduce
For local residents in the Allons, Tennessee area and those searching within the "camping near me" category for a lakeside retreat, Lillydale Campground, located at 985 Lily Dale Rd, Allons, TN 38541, USA, offers a unique camping experience on the shores of Dale Hollow Lake. You can reach them at (931) 823-4155 or +1 931-823-4155 to inquire about reservations and availability. Based on recent customer reviews, Lillydale Campground presents a blend of natural beauty and well-maintained facilities, although some aspects warrant consideration.
Embrace the Beautiful Lakeside Environment:
One of the most significant draws of Lillydale Campground is its stunning location on Dale Hollow Lake. The campground is thoughtfully laid out in three large loops, in addition to a unique island oasis accessible by a walk through sand and grass. For tent campers seeking a truly immersive natural experience, the island offers a completely primitive camping option. Furthermore, several tent sites and RV pads are situated directly on the water, providing breathtaking lake views and easy access for swimming, fishing, and other water-related activities. The presence of concrete pads at some waterfront sites caters to RVers seeking a level and stable setup.
The history of the campground adds an interesting dimension to its environment. Once a pine tree forest, the area was devastated by beetles, leading to a complete shutdown and rebuilding effort. As a result, new trees have been planted, suggesting a recovering landscape that still offers natural beauty while being relatively newer growth.
Services and Amenities Offered:
Lillydale Campground provides a range of services and amenities aimed at ensuring a comfortable stay for its guests:
- Tent and RV Camping: The campground offers designated loops for both tent and RV camping. The island is exclusively for primitive tent camping, while other loops feature a mix of tent sites and RV pads, some with waterfront access and concrete pads.
- Clean and Spacious Bathrooms: Multiple reviewers praise the bathroom facilities as being "very large" and "very clean." They also feature automatic lighting upon entry and are reportedly cleaned every morning. This is a significant positive aspect highlighted by visitors.
- Complimentary Washer and Dryer: A notable and highly appreciated amenity is the inclusion of a full-size washer and dryer, free of charge, in two of the bathhouses. With a complete 45-minute or longer cycle, this is a significant convenience for longer stays and families.
- Dump Station and Recycling: For RV travelers, a conveniently located inbound and outbound dump station is available. Additionally, the campground provides a dumpster with a separate recycle bin, encouraging environmentally conscious waste disposal.
- Wagons for Island Camping: Recognizing the walk to the island campsites, the campground provides wagons to help campers transport their gear. However, one reviewer noted that only one wagon was available upon their Friday arrival, leading to a wait.
- Decent Showers: While not extensively described, the showers are mentioned as being "decent," suggesting they meet basic needs for campers.
Key Features and Considerations for Local Users:
- Waterfront Access: The availability of numerous waterfront campsites, both for tents and RVs, is a major draw for those wanting to be close to Dale Hollow Lake.
- Island Camping Experience: The primitive island oasis offers a unique and secluded camping option for tent campers seeking a more adventurous experience.
- Clean and Well-Maintained Facilities: The consistently praised clean bathrooms and the availability of free laundry facilities are significant advantages.
- Spacious Layout: The campground's division into three large loops suggests a well-organized layout with ample space.
However, some considerations based on the reviews include:
- Walk to the Island: The walk to the island campsites through sand and grass can be a bit of a trek, requiring the use of wagons for gear. The limited number of wagons available at peak times might lead to waiting.
- Campsite Proximity: Some campsites are described as being "kinda close together," which might impact the sense of privacy for some campers.
- Port-a-Potties: One reviewer described the port-a-potties as "nasty nasty," suggesting that while the main bathhouses are clean, the portable toilets might not be up to the same standard. The closest clean bathrooms require a walk up to the parking area.
- Early Morning Noise: Some visitors have reported issues with loud diesel trucks driving through the campground early in the morning, potentially disturbing the peace during quiet hours.
- Children's Behavior: Concerns were raised about children running and riding bicycles between campsites, which is noted as a violation of campground etiquette and potentially a safety issue.
- Entrance Road: One reviewer humorously mentioned a "very long and very winding and hilly entrance road," which might be something to be aware of when planning your arrival.
Promotional Information and Call to Action:
While specific promotional offers are not mentioned in the provided reviews, Lillydale Campground's prime location on Dale Hollow Lake, coupled with its clean facilities and unique island camping option, makes it an attractive destination for local campers. The availability of waterfront sites and the complimentary laundry facilities add significant value to the camping experience.

Lillydale Campground Reviews
Location for tent camping is beautiful but the walk to the island is a little bit of a walk in sand and grass..they have two wagons you can use to help get your stuff to your camp site but when we got there Friday it was just one and we had to wait until someone got done using it. The camp site are kinda close together.the lady behind us was complaining that our light was shining right it her tent. Port-a potties was nasty nasty and the closest bathrooms was up pass where you have to park..clean bathroom in the morning time by afternoon bring some toilet paper just in case.decent showers..
Jul 10, 2024 · Marlena LaneAfter navigating the very long and very winding and hilly entrance road 🫣😬 You will be greeted by a very nice couple who is more than happy to give you a generous amount of information with a smile 😃The campground is very nicely laid out in three large loops, plus an island oasis.🏝️ One is exclusively for tenting⛺, and of course, so is the island which is completely primitive. A couple of the tent sites are right on the water!🌊 In another loop. Several of the pads are concrete located right on the water.🌊Apparently the story is here that for many years this was a pine tree forest until it got attacked by beetles🪲 and killed all the trees.🌲 The park had to be shut down and completely rebuilt. New trees were planted. 🎋The bathrooms🚻 are very large, very clean, And have automatic lighting when you enter. 👍🏻 They are cleaned every morning.🧹🧽 Two of the bath houses have a complimentary full size washer and dryer for use! 😲 With a complete 45 minute or longer cycle. You know how I feel about "short-timed" tiny pay washers 😡There is a conveniently located inbound and outbound dump station as well as dumpster with a recycle bin. Kind of funny to see so many beer cans in the recycle bin. 😲🤫But hey, at least they're being recycled. 🫢☹️ I see a lot of children running back and forth and riding their bicycles between the sites! 😲 A strict violation of proper campground etiquette. But their parents are also doing it!!🫣 Some of the people I see here could use the extra walk 🚶🏻♂️of going around and staying on the street.... 🫢It gets light early here in the central time zone on daylight savings time in the summer. There's always someone with an obnoxiously loud diesel truck who decides to get on the road before 6:00 a.m., ignoring the quiet hours and enjoying the sound of his vehicle🙉 as he races out of the park! Maybe he's thinking that if he goes faster the noise won't last as long? 🤷🏻♂️😖Unfortunately, this appears to be something new for some of my reviews👉🏻🚬
May 26, 2024 · Michael ScottThis is a very well kept campground. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they take great care of the grounds. The bathrooms were scrubbed daily, we never had a problem with neighbors or noise. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Site 33 was perfectly level side to side and easy to get into with our 27' TT. The hookups were good (only 30 amp electric, which is exactly what we needed), not hard to get to as some other campgrounds are. The bathhouse is just a few steps away, really from anywhere on the grounds as there are several bathhouses. If you stay here, you must eat at the Fork, you'll see it on your way in. There isn't much within 25 to 30 minutes of the grounds but that wasn't a problem for us. We will definitely be back!
Oct 15, 2023 · Scott GilesI actually love this place! This was my first time ever camping out at Lillydale. It was a pretty awesome experience. Had a little (kinda) conversation with a squirrel lol, saw a family of Deer and an Eagle, all in the same spot of the campground. The weather was very nice, the area that we placed our tent in was an amazing shaded spot and had a view of the lake from our tent. We reserved spots 31 and 32. They were right across from the restrooms/shower rooms, which made it better with having kids that don't like to walk anywhere lol. I will say that if you need anything from the store like groceries, you may have to stop before getting there. There aren't any big name stores in the area like Walmart or anything, but there is a little store called "Triple D" on 294, or if you just want to eat, there's a restaurant called The Fork at the beginning of the road that leads to Lillydale's campground. For those pulling campers and trailers, please be careful on the roads leading to the campground, they are a little curvy.I will definitely be going back one day!If you like artwork, I have attached a few photos of drawings that I've done over the years. Aug 25, 2024 · Ken West the ArtistWe camped on the island. The only way to make it better is to install permanent facilities on the island for those campers. The portable toilets were very clean though!
