Gunnels Camp Reviews
After mismanaging our time and "accidently" ending up here late at night, we truly enjoyed our overnight stay. Its as basic and primitive as it gets so if your looking for extra this is not the place for you. However its beautiful and peaceful. We cooked dinner and breakfast on our grill, had plenty of local firewood to burn and a gentle breeze off the water all night long. We didn't have a boat but if you do and are looking for a cool place to motor around and fish this is it!! We actually left something in our car on overnight which killed the battery, and our jump pack failed, but John S and his grandfather saved the day. We met grandfather, his dog, and his daughter on an early morning walk, grandfather sent John back with cables to help us out. He spoke fondly of Gunnels and camping there as he grew up- I bet it was a blast! If we are ever in the area again we will most definitely be stopping back by.

May 14, 2017 · Amanda JewellIt's a dirt road loop next to a mostly dried out river/creek bed. What water was there was stagnant and muddy. I only saw one rv parked there. There is 1 port-a-potty and no marked out camping areas. Didn't set up camp, left for Cove Creek.
