One camper specifically mentions renting a cabin during the winter or before spring and notes that "the showers are closed and you're only given an outhouse." This indicates that while cabin rentals may be available during the off-season, the full range of amenities, such as showers, might be limited. This is important information for local users planning a trip during these times, as they will need to be prepared for more rustic facilities. It's reasonable to infer that during the warmer seasons, the showers are likely open and available for use by campers in both cabins and traditional campsites, although this is not explicitly stated in the provided text.

Holland State Park - Macatawa Campground Reviews
Beautiful location and definitely worth visiting and camping for a day or two. If you're renting a cabin during the winter or before Spring it's best to stay for just a day or two. The showers are closed and you're only given an outhouse.
Apr 07, 2025 · Krzysztof SliwinskiIt's an amazing beach on Lake Michigan that doesn't disappoint. Cloudy all day with a supercharged sunset. It was one of those "all cell phone cameras at attention"
Apr 07, 2025 · Tom AveryJust visited the beach and looked at the lighthouse. Lighthouse, to be honest, is cute but it's across a small channel and kinda small. I don't know if the lighthouse itself is worth going to the park for. But the beach is gorgeous and sandy, there's a snack shack which sells drinks, burgers, hot dogs, and fries (and other things). There's a cool jetty you can walk out onto. Lots of parking as well! Just be warned that the water is cold. Was there 7/6 and it was 67 degrees F.
Jul 08, 2024 · Rebecca RobinsonFirst time I've been here and would definitely stay here again. I tent camped with my daughter for two nights. Felt the sites were a good size. Some reviews state that the sites are close together, which is true. We had our own space, but if you are looking for a private and quiet area away from people, this probably isn't the place for you.For us it was nice as there were plenty of families there when we stayed here, so my daughter was able to make friends and hang out with other kids. There is a small beach on Lake Macatawa right outside the entrance to the campground, which is nice if you want a quick swim or to avoid a bigger crowds down at the main beach. The main beach is just up the road about a mile and is easy to get to, even if you would bike down there.Bathrooms and showers were clean. Camp sites were clean and never saw any garbage from those who were camping there. There was even a strong storm system that moved through one morning we were there and still didn't see anything that blew around. There is a great shop just up the street you can walk to if you need anything. They have some fantastic ice cream there as well!
Jul 05, 2024 · Mark AltherrBeautiful beach, nice bathrooms/shower facilities. The lighthouse is cute, they have a small pier you can walk on. They have walkways out to the water that make it easier for families with strollers or someone who walks with a cane, walker, or possibly a wheel chair. Nice volleyball nets on the beach. Can be very busy but there is a a lot of parking and lots of beach space!
