Deep Creek Campground, located at 114-118 1st St, Charlotte, IA 52731, offers a well-maintained and amenity-rich camping experience that has garnered positive feedback from fellow campers. Situated in the charming town of Charlotte, this campground provides a convenient and enjoyable getaway for local residents and those exploring the region.
The environment at Deep Creek Campground is thoughtfully designed to cater to a variety of camping preferences. The presence of a "short nature trail with creek" suggests a pleasant natural setting where visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll and the soothing sounds of flowing water. This feature adds a touch of natural beauty and opportunities for gentle exploration right within the campground. The mention of "nicely spaced and maintained back in spots" indicates that campers can expect a degree of privacy and well-kept surroundings, contributing to a more comfortable and enjoyable stay.
In terms of services, Deep Creek Campground stands out for its comprehensive offerings. A significant advantage is the availability of "full hook-ups," which is particularly appealing to RV campers. Full hook-ups typically include connections for water, electricity, and sewer, providing a level of convenience often sought by those traveling with recreational vehicles. The campground caters to different electrical needs, with the east side offering 50-amp service and the west (creek side) providing 30-amp service. Notably, one spot closest to the creek on the west side offers water and sewer hookups but no electricity, providing an option for those who prioritize these utilities over electrical power in a particularly scenic location.
Furthermore, Deep Creek Campground ensures the comfort and convenience of its guests with the availability of "restrooms and showers." Clean and accessible restroom and shower facilities are essential for a comfortable camping experience, especially for longer stays or for those who prefer not to rely solely on their RV's facilities. The presence of these amenities adds significant value to the campground.
The features of Deep Creek Campground extend beyond basic utilities to include recreational and safety aspects. The "great playground" is a significant draw for families with children, providing a dedicated space for kids to play and burn off energy. The "picnic pavilion" offers a covered area ideal for enjoying meals outdoors, socializing, or seeking shelter from the elements. These features enhance the overall camping experience and make Deep Creek Campground a family-friendly destination.
Safety and convenience are also prioritized at Deep Creek Campground. The "helpful and friendly host lives across the way and is available by phone if needed," providing a sense of security and readily available assistance for campers. The fact that "there is a shower available which doubles as a storm shelter" highlights a proactive approach to guest safety during inclement weather. Additionally, the proximity to the "fire department across the street on the east side of the park, which also provides a shelter," offers an extra layer of reassurance for campers.
The positive feedback from visitors underscores the quality of Deep Creek Campground. The emphasis on "nicely spaced and maintained" spots, the helpful host, and the quiet atmosphere (with the exception of a local 4th of July celebration) all contribute to a positive camping experience. The mention of the surrounding neighbors having a "wonderful 4th of July display!!" adds a unique local charm to a stay during that particular holiday.

Deep Creek Campground Reviews
Great playground and picnic pavilion. Short nature trail with creek. Full hook-ups. Restrooms and showers available.
Oct 12, 2019 · Elizabeth Rose15 nicely spaced and maintained back in spots. The east side has 50 amps and the west (creek side) has the 30 amps, one closest to the creek at the end has no electricity but has sewer and water. Very helpful and friendly host lives across the way and is available by phone if needed. There is a shower available which doubles as a storm shelter. Across the street on the east side of the park is the fire department, which also provides a shelter. The surrounding neighbors have a wonderful 4th of July display!! Other then that very quiet 👍
Jul 05, 2020 · C JohnsonBad experience from the start. No envelopes or anything to put my payment in. After paying I got settled in a spot only to realize their electricity was shoddy at best. I thought it was my heater at first but after trying two other heaters I realized it was the electric. I had to find an adapter and use a different plug, which still seemed janky. No camp host marked so no bathroom or shower the whole time we were there. Definitely wouldn't return.
Nov 07, 2021 · Eris KnoxWe like this CG loads of fun things for kids. Lots of room between campers and a huge gravel pad with water electric dump and fire ring. Walking paths with a covered bridge and loads of room to walk and play with the dog. Why 4 Stars this park is 16 miles from anywhere that’s not really a bad thing but there little in town to support your camping trip!
Jul 14, 2018 · Illini TrekkerNice little campground. Full hookups and very reasonably priced. Had a good stay!
