One of the standout features of Dougan Creek Campground, consistently praised by visitors, is its appeal as a "great place to swim." This makes it an ideal choice for families with children and anyone looking to cool off and enjoy the refreshing waters during the warmer months. The opportunity for swimming adds a significant recreational element to the camping experience, allowing for fun-filled days spent by the water. Whether it's splashing around with the kids or simply taking a leisurely dip, the swimming area at Dougan Creek Campground is clearly a major attraction.
The reviews also highlight Dougan Creek Campground as a wonderful place to "hang out with the kids." This suggests that the campground provides a family-friendly environment where children can play, explore, and create lasting memories in nature. The combination of camping and swimming opportunities makes it a particularly appealing destination for families looking to spend quality time together outdoors. The natural surroundings offer a welcome change from digital entertainment, encouraging active play and engagement with the environment.
It's important for prospective visitors to be aware that Dougan Creek Campground's popularity, especially during "warm Summer weekends," can lead to it becoming "super busy!" One reviewer strongly advises to "get there early" to secure a campsite during these peak times. Dougan Creek Campground Reviews
Love this place! Great place to swim and hang out with the kids. On warm Summer weekends it gets super busy! So get there early.
Oct 11, 2024 · Jonathan RaderThis is a first come first serve campground. Very nice and peaceful. No cell service so be prepared to disconnect.
Oct 17, 2024 · Guinevere VickersJust enough off the main roads to feel “far out” but still around some people so you feel safe! Camping spots fill fast, the creek and falls and very busy even on weekdays, if you want a good spot to lay out you’ll need to go to the creek early in the morning!
Aug 13, 2024 · Jaymie BelknapThis is a very awesome camp ground for family and friends, there was a fantastic camp post but they unfortunately have left and there is no longer a post. The river is amazing, there's plenty of fun to be had down there. There are about 10 camping spots, ranging from small to big, and there are some spots you can put trailers, boats, and RV's.
Sep 05, 2022 · Isaiah SantosA little gem not far from the city. Free, fcfs camping with your discover pass. Open year round! Camp host, Ed, was incredibly welcoming and friendly . Several bathrooms on site, the one we used was well maintained.Mid fall , only one other campsite was occupied. Summer is nearly impossible to get a spot, but well worth trying. We will be back as much as possible!!
