Dressler's Campsites Introduce
For local users in Pennsylvania searching for "camping near me," Dressler's Campsites, located at 815 Susquehanna Trail, Liverpool, PA 17045, USA, offers a camping experience along the Susquehanna River. They can be contacted at (717) 444-3234 or their mobile number +1 717-444-3234 for inquiries and reservations. The available reviews present a mixed picture of this campground, highlighting both positive aspects and significant concerns that local users should consider.
The environment of Dressler's Campsites is notably defined by its location right off the highway and along the Susquehanna River. Despite its proximity to the highway, one reviewer was pleasantly surprised by how nice the campground is, suggesting that efforts are made to maintain a pleasant atmosphere despite the potential for noise. The presence of "really nice sites along the river" is a significant environmental feature, offering scenic views and potentially direct access to the water for activities like fishing or simply enjoying the riverside ambiance. The campground also allows golf carts, which can enhance the experience of navigating the property and enjoying leisurely rides.
In terms of services and features, one positive review highlights several aspects: the property is consistently clean, including a well-maintained bathhouse. This is a crucial factor for camper comfort and hygiene. The campground offers various campsite types, including seasonal sites for campers with their own RVs, as well as tent sites for those who prefer a more traditional camping experience. The presence of "more permanent spots that have their sites lined with fences and decorations" adds a unique visual element and suggests a community feel among some long-term residents. For families, there is a playground for children, and a small general store is available for basic needs like bottled water. Additionally, the campground reportedly hosts events fairly often, such as live bands and bingo nights, which can provide entertainment and a sense of community for visitors.
However, a contrasting review paints a much less favorable picture. This reviewer, claiming experience over eight years, states that the owners are not friendly and that the campground has not been properly maintained. Specific issues mentioned include the roads, bathrooms, and the store having inconsistent operating hours ("open whenever the owners have time"). Concerns were also raised about essential utilities such as electric, water, and the dumping station. Furthermore, this reviewer alleges a lack of family-friendly activities or events hosted by the owners and suggests a primary focus on collecting site rent without concern for the camper experience. Based on this negative feedback, potential local users should be aware of these reported maintenance and management issues.
Considering both perspectives, the features of Dressler's Campsites appear to be:
- Riverside campsites: Offering scenic views and potential river access.
- Cleanliness: At least one reviewer noted the property and bathhouse are kept clean.
- Variety of sites: Including seasonal RV sites and tent sites.
- Golf cart friendly: Allowing personal golf carts for easy navigation.
- Pet-friendly: Allowing pets to accompany campers.
- Playground: Providing a recreational area for children.
- Small general store: Offering basic necessities.
- Occasional events: Such as live bands and bingo nights (though the frequency and quality might vary).
- Some decorated and fenced permanent sites: Adding a unique visual element.
However, potential local users must also consider the serious allegations of poor maintenance, unfriendly owners, and inconsistent services raised in the negative review. These issues could significantly impact the overall camping experience.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in either review. To learn about any special offers, seasonal rates, or discounts at Dressler's Campsites, local users would need to contact them directly at the provided phone numbers. It would be prudent to inquire about the current state of the facilities and management practices when making such contact, given the conflicting feedback in the reviews.
The location in Liverpool, PA, places Dressler's Campsites along the Susquehanna River in Perry County. This region of Pennsylvania offers natural beauty and opportunities for outdoor recreation. The river itself is a significant feature, potentially attracting anglers and boaters. Local users might also find nearby state parks or natural areas to explore, although the immediate environment of the campground is described as being right off the highway.
In conclusion, Dressler's Campsites offers a riverside location along the Susquehanna River with amenities like a playground, a small store, and occasional events. The allowance of golf carts and pets could be attractive to some local users searching for "camping near me." However, there are significant concerns raised in one review regarding the friendliness of the owners and the maintenance of the campground and its facilities. Potential visitors should carefully weigh the positive aspects mentioned in one review against the serious negative allegations in the other. Direct communication with the campground is strongly recommended to get a current and accurate understanding of the environment, services, and management practices before making a reservation.

Dressler's Campsites Reviews
My friends have had a site here for the 2nd year in a row. I was surprised for it being right off the highway, its a really nice campground! Property is always clean, even bath house is kept up nicely. There's some really nice sites along the river and even a boat entry. They allow golf carts so we enjoy at least one ride everytime we visit. And your pets can come too! My friends have a seasonal site for their camper but there's also tent sites if you're into that. There are also some more permanent spots that have their sites lined with fences and decorations, which is fun to check out while taking a stroll or golf cart ride. They have a playground for the kiddos and a small general store for small needs like bottled water and what not. Fairly often they do different events like live bands and bingo nights etc. We enjoy ourselves everytime we visit Dressler's Campground. I'd highly recommend their campground.
May 04, 2022 · Jessica BowmanThe owners are not friendly people. In 8 years they have not properly maintained the campground, roads, bathrooms, store is open whenever the owners have time, electric, water, dumping station, just to name a few.. There is no family friendly activities or events that the owners host. They could care less, as long as they get their site rent. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND CAMPING AT THIS CAMPGROUND!!
Dec 17, 2023 · Melissa RhoadsWe love the place! The campers are all very friendly, and life long friends are easy to make. I would have given 5 stars, but for the hoity toity, this is camping, and doesn't have the nicities that you would pay much much more for. We have a river, and good times!
Oct 13, 2022 · Matthew NelsonJust an incredible atmosphere, I've honestly only ever been a visitor but everyone I've talked to were incredibly genuine as well as kind. I hope to have my own camper in here next year, I hear they're half the price of anything else around! It's beautiful on the river, two small boat launches!
