For solo female campers, the friendly and helpful nature of the camp hosts provides an added sense of security and welcome. The spaciousness of the campsites and the aforementioned privacy afforded by the abundant trees are also key features that enhance the overall camping experience. Potential visitors should be aware of the seasonal considerations mentioned in the reviews. One camper noted that while their stay in June was excellent, they would consider returning in the fall to avoid the bugs, suggesting that insect activity might be more prevalent during the summer months. Fall Lake Campground Reviews
I can see why Fall Lake Campground is a family tradition. The town of Ely is right down the road, maybe 15 minutes, and has everything you would need.My first time here as a female solo camper. The camp host's were so friendly and helpful.I had #26 and was pleased with a clean campsite but most of all the bathrooms were clean and had hot water for showering. Bathrooms had a entrance code :))) The campsites had lots of trees in between sights which is wanted. Fall Lake was gorgeous and serene. I heard Loons which was the best gift !!! I would come again but in the Fall when the bugs are not so agonizing.
Jun 16, 2024 · AHWe stayed in the middle of June. This is an excellent campground. The rangers are awesome. Boat rental is easy and reasonable. They provide life jackets and paddles. I wish more national parks and forests had electrical like this one. My only caution is that some sites have steeper grades that made it tough for our 25' Class B+. We reserved Site 23 but had to move to Site 13. Wasn't a problem really because they had an alternative site. Sites are large and provide plenty of privacy. We had a great time!
Jun 25, 2024 · Debbie WhitmoreCampsite was clean, hosts do a great job at keeping sites clean between groups. Bathrooms and showers were all clean and ready to use. Distance between campsites were far enough for privacy and the "northwoods" feel. Water was super high so the beach and playground were flooded, but still had fun with the kids for an overnight.
Jul 24, 2024 · AdamThis is a nice, quiet campground. Reservable spaces as well as first come first serve. The staff at the main office are very nice and friendly. There are multiple campground hosts and firewood available to buy.Bathrooms were cleaned multiple times per day.Nice picnic table and fire ring with grill at each site. We saw plenty of large and small RVs.
Jul 14, 2024 · Tiffany PMost sites are fairly private. Some are a little short. Nice firepits, clean bathrooms. Access to the Boundary Waters. You can get a day use permit to paddle there. You can take a boat with larger motors into another portion of Fall Lake. Stubb Lake trail is not really worth the hike though. Not much to see at the end.
