As a "camping near me" option, the Fort Pierce Downtown KOA Journey offers a convenient base for exploring the local area. Situated in downtown Fort Pierce, its location provides easy access to a variety of necessities and attractions. According to customer reviews, the campground is notably clean and well-maintained, suggesting a comfortable and pleasant environment for your stay. While classified as a KOA Journey, which typically caters to shorter stays, this campground provides essential services and some appreciated features.
One of the standout aspects mentioned by visitors is the quality of the individual campsites. Each site features a practical layout with ample room for RV slide-outs and awnings. The ground surface is a combination of packed dirt and gravel, providing a stable base. A particularly nice touch is the inclusion of a small brick-paved patio at each site, complete with a picnic table. This thoughtful addition enhances the outdoor living experience at your campsite.
In terms of utilities, the Fort Pierce Downtown KOA Journey offers essential hookups, including 20/30/50 amp electrical service, water, sewer, and cable television. This ensures a comfortable and convenient stay for RV travelers. Furthermore, the majority of the campsites are pull-thru sites, a significant advantage for ease of parking and departure, especially for larger RVs. The campground also provides trash pick-up service, adding to the convenience for guests.
For those needing to take care of laundry, the campground has coin-operated laundry facilities available. It's advisable to come prepared with the necessary coins. While Wi-Fi is listed as an amenity, some guests have reported that the signal strength can be weak or nonexistent in certain areas of the park, particularly towards the back. Therefore, if reliable internet access is crucial for your stay, it might be worth considering alternative options.
The location of the Fort Pierce Downtown KOA Journey is both a benefit and a consideration. Its proximity to the beach, grocery stores, fuel stations, and restaurants is highly convenient, making it easy to access essential supplies and enjoy local dining options. Its location also offers easy access to major transportation routes, being close to Florida's Turnpike and Interstate 95. This makes it a convenient stopover for those traveling through the region or visiting RV dealerships in the vicinity.
However, it's important to be aware of potential noise factors due to the campground's downtown location. Several reviews mention the proximity to a very active train track, with train horns frequently sounding throughout the day and night. Additionally, there is a car wash center located next door, which can generate noise during daytime hours. These are factors to consider when choosing this campground, particularly if you are sensitive to noise.
In summary, the Fort Pierce Downtown KOA Journey offers a clean and conveniently located camping option in Fort Pierce. Its well-maintained sites with patios and essential utilities, coupled with its proximity to local amenities and major highways, make it a practical choice for many travelers. While the noise from the nearby train tracks and car wash is a noted drawback, the overall convenience and quality of the campground itself are significant advantages. For local users searching for "camping near me," the Fort Pierce Downtown KOA Journey provides a solid option for a short stay, offering a comfortable and well-equipped base to explore the Fort Pierce area.

Fort Pierce Downtown KOA Journey Reviews
This is a beautiful campground in a convenient location. The staff (Gina) is excellent and accommodating. The picnic tables and patios are a real treat. Rarely do I find them this nice. They offer trash pick up. Their laundry is coin operated so come prepared. It is conveniently located with the beach, groceries, fuel, and restaurants near by. This location would have easily received 5-stars except it is not gated and is very close to a very noisy train track with horns blowing frequently 24/7. Also, there is a noisy car wash center next door and is loud during the daytime.
Jan 25, 2025 · Lisa Hollandcharming little park but keep in mind it’s a KOA Journey in downtown Fort Pierce and means traffic and train noise. The park itself is very clean and seems to be maintained with care. Being a Journey, there aren't really amenitiesThe sites are not the biggest, but you have plenty of room to put out your slides and awning. The sites are packed dirt and gravel, and each has a little brick paved patio with a picnic table. Our site had 20/30/50 amp service, water, sewer, and cable. The vast majority of sites are pull-thru, adding to the convenience of this park. While they provide Wi-Fi it was nonexistent in our spot towards the back of the park. So I would not rely on that.A KOA Journey is intended to be a quick stop, maybe 1 night, maybe 3, whatever your needs are. This park is close to Florida's Turnpike and Interstate 95 and convenient to RV dealerships in the area.
Mar 07, 2025 · Biagio CerbelliThis is a tiny KOA with none of the usual amenities, so I thought the price was high. The staff is friendly. The biggest negatives are road noise, trains blowing their horns at all hours of the day and the car wash next to the campground. The positives are walking distance to Publix, short drive to Downtown Fort Pierce and the Seal museum. Our site was level but it was a trick to get Dish satellite reception due to the trees. There are some real jerks living there but they can be avoided. The camp cats are cute and friendly.
Dec 06, 2024 · Kathleen SouthFriendly staff, good location to the beaches. Brand new bathrooms, clean as can be. I didn't hear any bothersome noise from traffic or trains.
Mar 11, 2025 · Ralph Pistor3/25 Downtown KOA of Ft Pierce. Second stay here for us. Everything we Ned, level clean and safely located sites. Staff was helpful in getting us in a day earlier than we booked.
