Situated directly on the water, many of the campsites offer breathtaking views and easy access for those looking to enjoy the serene lake environment. Imagine waking up to the gentle sounds of the water and stepping out of your tent to a stunning natural panorama. The campground's address places it conveniently within reach for local users seeking a nearby outdoor retreat.
One of the standout features of Gatton Creek Campground, as highlighted by previous visitors, is the sense of privacy afforded by each campsite. Thoughtfully separated by natural bushes, these individual spots create a more secluded and intimate camping experience compared to more open campgrounds. This design allows you to truly unwind and feel connected with your surroundings without feeling overly exposed to neighboring campers. This emphasis on privacy is a significant draw for those seeking a peaceful escape into nature.
In terms of amenities, Gatton Creek Campground provides essential facilities to ensure a comfortable stay. A centrally located bathroom is available in the parking lot for campers' convenience. While one review noted that the regular restrooms were temporarily closed, they also mentioned that porta potties were being cleaned weekly and were reasonably well-maintained. It's always a good idea to come prepared with personal hygiene items, but the presence of these facilities offers a basic level of comfort for campers.
Adding to the convenience of Gatton Creek Campground is its proximity to a general store, located just up the street. This is a significant advantage for campers who may need to pick up last-minute supplies, snacks, or forgotten essentials without having to travel a significant distance. The presence of a nearby store enhances the overall camping experience by providing easy access to necessities.
Customer reviews consistently praise the natural beauty and unique charm of Gatton Creek Campground. One visitor described it as "maybe the most premium little campsite I've ever stayed at," emphasizing the desirable waterfront location and the level of privacy offered. Another reviewer, while not staying overnight, noted the "cute little campground" and the short hike available, suggesting opportunities for light exploration and enjoying the natural surroundings. They also reiterated the lake proximity and the good spacing between campsites.
It's important to note that the campground seems best suited for smaller tents, as indicated by one of the reviews. Campers with larger tents or recreational vehicles should likely inquire about site suitability beforehand. The same reviewer also advised managing expectations beyond simply being immersed in nature, which aligns with the campground's focus on a more rustic and natural experience rather than extensive amenities.

Gatton Creek Campground Reviews
A nearly perfect set of campsites directly on the water. Each site is pretty private, separated by bushes. Bathroom in the parking lot. Just up the street from the general store. Honestly maybe the most premium little campsite I've ever stayed at
Jul 26, 2023 · Kelvin PriceDidn't spend the night, but cute little campground with short hike to. Bring small tents and don't have high expectations other than being in nature. Next to the lake with good buffer between sites. Regular restrooms are currently closed, but porta potties are cleaned weekly and didn't smell too bad.
Sep 29, 2024 · K Weir5 cute spots by the beach! FCFS! Paved parking lot. Clean pit toiles (1 ladies & 1 men) You park and then you Walk to your site. $25 dollars per night and 1/2 price for Seniors pass and Access pass.
Jul 22, 2021 · Meli5 walk-in campsites. All first come first serve. The sign on the campsite might be flipped to "Reserved", but if there's no "paid" receipt/occupants, then it's available.
Jul 21, 2019 · Nick NicholsonThere are only 5 spots here but they are right on the lake. Not many amenities so if you aren't truly in to tent camping I don't recommend but it was perfect for us. It's a really beautiful area and it was quiet but we also came the second week of June so not quite camping season yet.
