Gooseberry Falls Campground Reviews
Such a beautiful place to stay! The facilities were in great shape and all the Park Rangers that we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. For first timers up there, the only complaint we would have is that some of the trails aren't marked well or at all but they were all well maintained. Pretty much we spent an hour wandering around for the trail we wanted until we gave up and went to the Ranger Station and they mapped it out for us. Even when wandering we found some areas along Lake Superior that we visited again. Highly recommend staying here. No water or electric hook-up at the campsites so plan accordingly.
Jul 11, 2019 · Summer FawnBeautiful and well established, this campground has spacious and varied sites and a nice amount of privacy (woods between sites) The facilities were clean and the local ground squirrels were friendly. If you book a site closer to the water’s edge, the sound of the waves is relaxing. If you Kayak and tent camp, check out the sites right on the beach. We drove around the campground before we booked, and this was helpful. There are some great sites with plenty of flat space, but there are also some sites that don’t look like fun for Glampers or campers.
Sep 21, 2019 · Joseph LondonSite number three (site 3) was the only one available for three nights consecutively when we needed to book a few nights camping in MN with only two days notice prior. We loved the wood chipped tent pad, the grill grate fire pit, the location near the bathrooms (not much traffic disturbance to the toilets as there is great tree perimeter blocking walkers and such view of our campsite. Not far from Two Harbors, MN town and a couple other little towns with firewood and misc necessities for camping supplies around. Short hike down the camp gravel road to across an asphalt road to Agate Beach in Gooseberry Falls Park- we watched the sunset each night there, not many agates were easily found though, it’s a very picked over beach.
Jun 24, 2022 · Jennifer Aho VeitBeautiful camp ground. More gravel and dirt rather than grass. Lots of trees. Sites are spaced reasonably. No electric. Beautiful walk to the beach.
Aug 03, 2023 · GlutzNice campsites and the facilities were very well taken care of and clean! Made for a perfect autumn camping experience. Firewood was easily accessible and reasonably priced, hiking trails were nice and the visitor center is good stop. Plenty of activities in the area as well and the best part is falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing on the shore nearby!
