Nestled in the scenic landscape of Brooklyn, Michigan, Graves Family Campground caters to both RV and tent campers. The campground offers a mix of site types to accommodate different needs. For those with recreational vehicles, both 30 and 50 amp electric service are available on select sites, providing a significant advantage for running appliances and ensuring a comfortable stay. It's important to note, however, that the campground primarily offers dry camping, meaning water and sewer hookups at individual sites are not standard. Be sure to plan accordingly for your water and waste management needs.
For campers seeking a more rustic experience or looking for budget-friendly options, Graves Family Campground also features numerous sites without any hookups, offered at a lower rate. These sites are ideal for tent campers or RVers who are self-sufficient. Regardless of the site type you choose, you'll find spacious spots that allow for a comfortable setup and some room to enjoy the outdoors.
While the spaciousness of the sites is a definite plus, some reviews indicate that many of the electric sites are sloped. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you bring plenty of leveling boards to ensure your RV or camper is stable and your stay is more comfortable. Planning ahead with the necessary equipment will help you make the most of your chosen site.
One of the standout features of Graves Family Campground, according to visitor feedback, is the well-maintained cleanliness of the facilities. Campers have consistently praised the cleanliness of the restrooms and showers, and importantly, there is no additional fee for using the showers, which is a significant convenience for guests. This attention to hygiene contributes to a more pleasant and comfortable camping experience for everyone.
Safety and security are also taken seriously at Graves Family Campground. Many visitors have reported observing regular security patrols throughout the evenings, providing a sense of security and peace of mind during your stay. Additionally, the campground offers the convenient service of trash pickup at each individual campsite, helping to keep the area tidy and reducing the hassle for campers.
For families and those looking for recreational activities within the campground, Graves Family Campground offers a playground for children to enjoy and a volleyball court. While one review mentioned that the volleyball court was not maintained very well, the presence of these amenities provides options for outdoor fun and helps create a family-friendly atmosphere.
Graves Family Campground is also a dog-friendly facility, which is great news for those who love to travel with their furry companions. You can bring your dogs along to enjoy the outdoor experience with you. However, as with any pet-friendly location, it's important to be a responsible pet owner and ensure your dog is leashed and you clean up after them to maintain a pleasant environment for all campers.
A significant aspect of Graves Family Campground's location is its proximity to the Michigan International Speedway. This makes it a popular choice for race fans attending events at the track. However, several reviews have highlighted that the shuttle service provided to and from the track can be quite slow, especially on race days. Wait times of upwards of 30 minutes to get to the track and 45-60 minutes for the return journey have been reported. If you are visiting the campground primarily for events at the speedway, it is crucial to factor in these potential delays and plan your transportation accordingly. Some visitors have suggested that in the future, they would prefer to stay at a campground closer to the track to avoid these long shuttle waits.
While many aspects of Graves Family Campground are appreciated by visitors, some concerns have been raised regarding noise levels. Multiple reviews mention issues with loud music being played throughout the day and night, with one reviewer specifically stating that it felt more like a concert than a family campground. Complaints about the lack of enforcement of quiet hours, which are stated as midnight, and the excessive bass and volume of music have led some visitors to express dissatisfaction and a reluctance to return. These comments suggest that the noise levels can significantly impact the camping experience for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing environment.
In summary, Graves Family Campground offers spacious campsites with the convenience of 30/50 amp electric service on some sites, along with more affordable dry camping options. The facilities are noted for their cleanliness, and the presence of security patrols and campsite trash pickup adds to the convenience and safety of the stay. The campground is dog-friendly and includes amenities like a playground and a volleyball court. However, potential campers should be aware of the sloped electric sites and the possibility of slow shuttle service to the Michigan International Speedway. Additionally, concerns have been raised by some visitors regarding noise levels and the enforcement of quiet hours. By considering these factors, local users can make an informed decision about whether Graves Family Campground aligns with their camping preferences and needs.

Graves Family Campground Reviews
I would have given a 5 star rating but we had to wait in line for an hour to dump our tanks. For the size of this facility one would think they’d have more than 1 dump station. It’s dry camping with the bonus of having 30/50 amp service available. There are many sites with no service that go for a lower rate.Bring plenty of leveling boards. Most sites with electric are very sloped.Quiet time was well observed and the facilities were very clean and well maintained. There’s no additional fee for showers.I observed security patrols every evening and trash was picked up at each site.Shuttle service to the track was very slow so plan accordingly. We waited upwards of 30 min to get to the track and 45-60 min to return the day of the NASCAR race. They are dog friendly and have a playground and volleyball court. The volleyball court was not maintained very well.I would return to this area but in the future I’d try to get into a campground closer to the track.
Aug 20, 2024 · Dottie GuerrasioIf I wanted a concert I would have paid for tickets. Family campground. No real rules. Midnight quiet hours. The base and volume of music is rude. It goes all day and night.Spots spacious but you can't enjoy it with the tolerated noise levels. Not coming here again. Been to several camping races and never has it been this bad. Terrible.
Aug 05, 2023 · Vicki PhilippThe size of sites are generous. However, there are no tables, fire rings, or grills. You get a piece of the field and 30 amps. No trees. Some of the sites are flat, but just as many are on an incline. This was a problem for some trailers. Also, for motorhome owners, this campground mentioned a Michigan law that supposedly stated you can't have two steering wheels on one campsite. They wanted to charge us for our tow vehicle to be parked in a parking lot at the entrance. That was a ridiculous ask. I'm not sure what Michigan was thinking with this law. We couldn't find the law to read and the campground didn't provide it. But once our coach is parked, it is on jacks and doesn't move. It's no different than a fifth wheel or a travel trailer. Luckily, they didn't force the issue, and so I'm not holding against the campground, but I mention it just in case you run across the same issue here. The bath house can get dirty with so many people walking to use it. But it's big. Staff was friendly. Water/sewer trucks came by often. Trash pick up on site. They allow clever sales like ice cream trucks, corn on the cob, etc. That was nice.
Aug 10, 2023 · WendyinOhioI can appreciate a good time and all , but people are allowed to party , scream, and run their generators all hours of the night.
Aug 17, 2024 · Brad MichaelOpen area Campground with no trees. Not saying that's a bad thing, because let's face it, the main point of these campgrounds is a place to stay and have a good time partying. This Campground definitely seems a little more low-key than the other ones right on the track. The only complaint is there is only one dump station, with only one drain. Takes a long time because of that to get out. If you are willing to pay the extra but, they do come around with trucks to empty your tanks for about $50 a pop.
