Green Falls Campground

Green Fall Pond Rd, Voluntown, CT 06384, USA

4.0
Awesome campground. All the tent sites seem to be really good. We stayed in site 14 which is very close to bathrooms and was convenient for that reason, but also you can catch a whiff here and there, didn’t bother us much tho. The pond was great. There’s a small roped off swimming area. Kayaking/canoeing allowed with a small boat launch. Quick ride (10-15 mins) into town to resupply at the gas station/market on rt 138. There’s a dunkin as well for a quick pick me up. Fun in the sun and rain. Will absolutely be returning. Very clean. DEEP staff and rangers do their rounds every once in a while. There is no access to drinking water, only non potable water. No showers. Firewood available off site. Would highly recommend. - Evan Moore

Green Falls Campground is situated in Voluntown, a town in eastern Connecticut known for its rural character and natural beauty. The centerpiece of the campground is Green Fall Pond, described by reviewers as "great" and featuring "beautiful and clean" water. This pond offers a significant draw for campers, providing opportunities for various water-based activities. A small roped-off swimming area is available for safe enjoyment of the water, making it particularly appealing for families and individuals looking to cool off during the warmer months. Furthermore, kayaking and canoeing are permitted on the pond, with a small boat launch available for easy access. This allows campers to explore the pond at their own pace and enjoy the peaceful surroundings from the water.

The campground itself is nestled in a natural setting, likely surrounded by the woodlands typical of eastern Connecticut. The spaciousness of the campsites is also highlighted, with one reviewer noting they could easily fit a 4-person tent, a 3-person tent, a small 2-person tent, and two mid-size cars on their site (Site 6). This suggests that local campers can expect ample room to spread out and enjoy their campsite comfortably. The presence of DEEP (Department of Energy and Environmental Protection) staff and rangers making rounds adds a sense of security and indicates that the campground operates under state oversight.
