A Scenic Environment Near Croton Dam

Imagine spending your days enjoying the water and the natural surroundings just a short distance from your campsite.
The campground itself is described as "really nice," suggesting a pleasant and well-maintained environment. Practical Amenities and Considerations
Happy Campers Campground provides essential amenities to support your camping experience. This suggests that the campground provides multiple options for restroom facilities to accommodate camper needs.
The mention of vault toilets indicates that the campground may offer a more rustic camping experience in some areas. However, the presence of porta potties suggests an effort to provide more convenient options. Specific details about other amenities such as water hookups, electrical hookups, or shower facilities are not mentioned in the provided reviews. It is advisable to contact the campground directly to inquire about the availability of these services based on your specific camping needs.
The positive experiences shared by campers, particularly the annual returning group, suggest that the overall benefits of the campground, such as its location and friendly owners, outweigh some of the more basic amenity considerations for many visitors.

This makes Happy Campers Campground an excellent choice for individuals and families who enjoy water-based recreational activities. The campground's popularity with a large annual group for a tubing trip highlights its suitability for group camping. The friendly owners and the welcoming atmosphere likely contribute to its appeal for such gatherings. If you are planning a camping trip with a larger group of friends or family, Happy Campers Campground could be a great option to consider.
While a playground or other specific recreational facilities are not mentioned, the primary features seem to revolve around the natural environment and the access to water activities. Happy Campers Campground Reviews
Really nice camp ground. People were nice and we pretty much had the back area to ourselves. Super close to the croton dam so we could swim and kayak. Vault toilets were horrendously stinky but so we're the parks vault toilets, so can't fault them for that. Plus they had Porta potties nearby to use.
Jun 29, 2024 · RichWe love Happy Campers! We have a large group of people that go every year for our Annual Friends tubing trip. The owners are amazing. They have been working hard on making improvements. We are all already planning next year's trip. Keep up the hard work!
Jun 30, 2023 · Brooke LipkaWe stayed 3 nights in September and it was amazing. Tons of trees and nature. We were the only guests and had ultimate privacy during our stay. The out houses were clean and the electricity at our site was newer. The owners were so sweet and accommodating.
Sep 18, 2023 · Rayanne BroadwayWe've been coming here for a few years now. There are always new improvements being done. We just love the secluded feel. It is close to a main road, but there is much nature to be had as well. Great fishing, great trails. Its truly a remarkable area. This happens to be one of our favorite campgrounds. It's more rustic than the others (some electric sites, and out houses). There's more space between sites. The staff are friendly. We will keep coming back!!
Oct 09, 2020 · MRS Wendt (GypsySoulTraveler)First and foremost the staff was extremely pleasant! Unfortunately, the lack of shower and real restrooms makes for a less than decent stay. As a backpacker I would have rather saved the $20 and hiked a mile on to the trail to camp for free. And let me stress here, the bathroom was disgusting. I would rather have a porta-potty. It is a hole in the ground with a raised toilet seat, the smell is horrendous and the bug situation is awful. I convinced myself that I could handle the stall but when I opened the lid about 15 bugs came flying out and I left. So, although the staff is very very nice, I would not stay again nor can I recommend.
