However, the campground addresses this with practical solutions: two easily accessible dump stations are available for weekend campers, and for those staying weekly, the owner, Buster, offers a pump-out service every Monday for a small fee. This demonstrates a proactive approach to ensuring the comfort and convenience of campers, even with the limitation of full hookups at each site.

The social aspect is also a significant part of the services offered. The campground hosts a "group supper" on Saturdays, providing a wonderful opportunity for guests to connect and socialize. This communal meal fosters the family-like atmosphere that many reviewers praise. Additionally, holiday weekends often feature "Saturday night entertainment," adding a festive element to the camping experience. Features and Activities: Community, Food, and Fun
One of the most unique features of Happy Horseshoe Campground is the strong sense of community. Multiple reviewers emphasize the friendly nature of both the owners, Buster and Judy, and the other campers. The sentiment "You become Family on your first visit" is a powerful testament to the welcoming atmosphere. Guests are often invited to participate in "neighborhood get togethers," further solidifying the feeling of belonging. This makes the campground particularly appealing to those who value social interaction and a sense of community during their camping trips.
A standout feature that guests rave about is Buster's "bean hole bean supper" offered every Saturday night. The "below ground pit cooked baked beans" are described as "incredible," suggesting a delicious and unique culinary experience that is a highlight of a stay at Happy Horseshoe Campground. This traditional method of cooking adds a special touch and is clearly a beloved tradition among campers.
The campground also caters to different age groups and preferences. While it is noted that the crowd is "mostly a more mature" one and that things quiet down by 9:00 PM on Saturday nights, making it particularly appealing to "retired folks," families with children are also well-catered for with the pool and play area. The seasonal campers have formed a "little community," indicating a welcoming environment for longer stays as well.

Aug 25, 2024 · gary phillipsGreat friendly hosts, Buster and Judy, are always happy to help out. We have been seasonal here for the last 2 years and find our large site in the pines very comfortable and have made some great friends in our little community. Even when we just came up for occasional weekends in past years we always found everyone to be very friendly and were invited to take part in neighborhood get togethers. mostly a more mature crowd and even on Saturday nights thing start to quiet down by 9:00. I would highly recommend this campground to retired folks who will find a lot in common with other guests. drawbacks are that most sites only have electric and water but no disposal hookups. No problem for weekend warriors because they have 2 easily accessible dump stations and for weekly campers Buster pumps out every Monday for a small fee. Also the prices for seasonal are the best around this area. They also have a nicely maintained pool, rec hall and play are for kids. Holiday weekend always have Saturday night entertainment and the local snowmobile club hosts a fantastic Sunday chicken BBQ on site. Be sure to try Busters bean hole bean supper every Saturday night.
Sep 01, 2021 · Ross FittsThis is my FAVORITE campground! It is clean, friendly and plenty of events and activities for children. The store is affordable, there is a pool, Arcade, playground, cute decor, a long Dog Walk and access to ATV trails. Bring the kid’s bikes and I promise people of all ages will have a good time! You’ll want to come again I can guarantee. There was an 80’s Dance when I went last and a Bean supper. Sometimes it’s Chicken Barbeque that’s smoked on site. Auctions, Bingo, different bands come . It’s something different happening all the time.
Aug 24, 2020 · Heather ThomasNice quiet & roomy campground. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Has mini store, pool and other amenities. Good baked bean supper on Saturday nights. V0ery child friendly
May 30, 2023 · George StetsonDump facility was reasonably priced at $10. The grounds were cute with wooden black bears and moose decorations. A few things for the kids to play on in the playground. Spaces looked flat and roomy compared to some parks and wooded for privacy.
